    Rolling the corners is an underated and scoffed at skill.
    Ever ridden bicycle on polished smoooth concrete floor with layer of dust? If you grab brake while turning you slip fall so you roll the corner. Same on the trail. A 1/4 even an 1/8second per turn adds up QUICK.

      Were there spots you saw me not rolling well? Serious question! I ask to better myself. Thanks for sharing!!

      Listen to the video you're mostly on brakes into corner whichll throw your center gravity out so you need split sec to let bike 'fall' into corner then hit gas.
      Find a short loop 1/2 mile by yourself and force yourself to ride without using brakes. This'll force smoother corner transition and speed and will reveal the braking/enter issue.
      If you ever have chance to ride in the mountains try a neutral dead engine roll race down easy trail. It will help corner entering transition exit big time. And it's fun.

    Bro out there sounding like a Cammy in Streetfighter!

      "Cammy is a strong, forceful, and determined young woman with a firm sense of justice, who is extremely polite, friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic towards those whom she knows and cares about."
      Do I sound like a woman, am I polite, or just enthusiastic?!?! 😂

    This is one reason why I like wearing my watch on rides now, be it moto or woods. I like to compare where I gain an lose time, and also how I 'feel' by comparison. I use this for checking suspension changes, line choice, and general timing. Combined with a go pro, this is awesome for racing and improvement overall. Maybe pan the audio slightly next time - almost had a hard time hearing which side was more excited 😋 though it is crazy how in sync the riding is at the beginning! The motor and throttle is so close on both rides 🤘

      That’s a good idea on panning the audio for which side excited Brian in the moment. Now that I’ve watched a few times, I should have edited it down more. But we live and learn! Glad you enjoyed it! 🤘🏻🤙🏻⚡️

    that makes a cool, interesting vid. one time at 111 ranch I got stuck in the mud on lap 2 of 3. I had to get off and man handle the bike out, was tired, got back on and I guess I had the feeling of being behind.. that lap was faster than the 2 laps I was not stuck in the mud. ..that to say I often have a hard time telling where I gain or lose time.

      @SeatTime  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks, glad you dug it! As for the laps you described, I bet there was a "letting go" that happened. You were tired, you probably felt defeated, and stopped thinking about what you thought you needed to do, and you just did it. Due to that, you rode closer to your full potential.

      I am no an expert I just ride A vet class, watching your front end moving and correcting in the corners I think you are openin gas early in the corner, Lear the bike roll little more and open gas que you clean list after the apex. My filling is that you are over riding let the momentum work and flow

    This is an interesting way to break down your lap times. But I’m not sure what you were doing differently in the first few miles. Maybe a bit less braking? What are we to learn from this about going faster?

    • @SeatTime
      @SeatTime  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I appreciate the comment. It was a first go at this type of video, and learning/coaching. I’ve already thought of ways to improve my delivery, and the learnings.
      But to your direct question. As riders, we’re:
      1. Not attacking in all the places we should be attacking. To carry speed, we first have to create it.
      2. Sitting down too early for turns. Standing more allows us to carry more speed, or increase speed, due to positioning.
      3. Braking in the wrong place. Someone else left a great comment about my braking. I’m not rolling the turns enough. I brake too hard into the turn, disrupting the bike while it tries to roll the turn.
      4. ignoring the mental game. When we start to think about any other than the task at hand, we’re ultimately not riding as fast as we can.
      I write more in the article on the ST site. Give that a read as well and let me know if you feel that covers more, better. Thanks for pushing me to expand upon what I tried to create! seattime.co/videos/where-racers-lose-time-in-an-enduro/

    Would be interesting to get a pro's footage and compare to see exactly where they are making more time.

      For Sure! I still found it interesting the little moments I was slower or faster. Nuggets to remember for practicing.
