    Haha all the vet rider comments…. 😂 I’m a vet rider about to do my first enduro in 2 weeks! Took a 20 some year hiatus but I’m hitting this head on now! Appreciate the content! I need all the help I can get!

    Advice on hitting whoops/rollers please. Especially irregular spaced whoops out on the trail.

      We’ll get to work on another video focused on this.

    • @SeatTime

      I'm looking forward to working on this with Cole. The one thing I have done to save energy, since I am not a 'whoop master', is to try not to ride straight through the deepest part. If possible, I try to move to the side of the trail some where they're smoother and not as cupped out. After that, we need stiffer suspension and bigger balls to drive straight through those MF'ers.

    Cole, good point on the aggression perspective. Personally I can go faster but my conditioning/fitness is holding me back. What exercises would you recommend in order to increase the strength, fitness and conditioning needed to be harder on the gas, brakes etc?

    • @ColeKirkpatrick
      @ColeKirkpatrick ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A rowing machine is great and also setting up something simple like an exercise circuit in your garage can go a long ways. Do push-ups, squats, and mountain climbers in sixty second intervals. This builds strength but also gives you a good cardio workout. On the bike, you can work on doing higher intensity motos to start pushing yourself to get comfortable with the effort required to ride faster.

    • @SeatTime
      @SeatTime  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cole brought up some great points about body weight movements. Done at relatively high intensity, you don't need a lot of weights to get the heart rate up and the blood flowing. If you want to do more with weights, utilizing EMOM's (Every Minute on the Minute) for set reps is a great way to ramp up intensity, but also not need to go all out.
      Lastly, if you have the time and money, Enduro Method is perfect for this. Their app based training is purposefully built for off-riders like us.🤘🏻🤙🏻

    • @eastwood111
      @eastwood111 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically the best training for any type of sport is doing the actual activity. The best exercise you can do for dirtbike is actual riding the bike. Don’t get me wrong, Cross training can help as well but nothing will improve you’re riding more than actual riding.

      Right On! Let us know how you progress as you begin to work on the techniques.

  • @aarfdood
    @aarfdood ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Been noticing a lot of pros ride on the arches of their feet. Chris Birch responded to my question and he says he does the same in tight windy tracks to save time getting foot to brake. He also admitted this is not proper technique but necessary for speed. This is my current struggle, among others.

    • @SeatTime
      @SeatTime  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I spend time forcing myself to ride on the balls of my feet. I do this so I get the feeling down, and it becomes more second nature for the times I need to be on the balls of my feet (i.e. rocks). As we start racing, we need to utilize our 'doing brain', not our 'thinking brain'. Technique work while not racing starts to work those techniques into our riding naturally during 'doing brain'. The more we have to think, the more we're pulled out of a flow state.
      There are many struggles we can focus on. Pick the one you think will give you the most growth. I love practicing technique during a 10-15 minute warm up before leaving the van.

      @@SeatTime This time around my two biggest takeaways were to more consistently check my suspension settings, including sag, and to simply do more dedicated drills like corners with ruts and accelerating / decelerating through chop and bumps. Very underviewed vid here!
