I have essentially the same gun, as well as a number of other Beretta 92's. My Centurion did come with two 18-round magazines, but not the extra wraparound grip. It's a trade-off, I suppose. As to the rougher finish on the older mags: since I don't do competitions, I'm not interested in the extra microsecond or so that the rougher finish might cost me in a reload. However, I do prefer a magazine that will NOT shoot out of the mag well if I've inadvertently bumped the mag release while sitting in, say, a patrol car (it happens), or if I've failed to properly slam the magazine home during a reload.

I carried a 92 Centurion for 8 years as a LEO, Always thought that the Centurion should have been their standard pistol. I recently bought one of the RDO Centurions and other than the ridiculously high Beretta Mount I couldn't be happier.

I have a dlah plate on mine and it makes the optic sit flush to the slide. Actually makes using a dot viable without getting the Langdon cut but you can go back to irons if you ever decide to.

Recently started caring my Beretta 92 again and, with a good holster and sturdy belt, I find the full size gun easier to carry than a “compact”. The longer barrel/slide helps keep the grip of the gun tighter to my body vs “compact” or “subcompact” pistols that I find seem to want to tilt out over my belt more than full size pistols.

I recently picked up a 92X Centurion and absolutely love it. I'll eventually pick up a compact LTT RDO slide so I can run a dot on it.

The Centurions balance in hand is the best of the 92 series imho.

Regarding the Langdon trigger kit: I would NOT modify the trigger on a duty gun. The gun writer Massad Ayoob, who has served as an expert witness in officer-involved and other shootings, argues against giving prosecutors or plaintiffs' attorneys the argument that you went out of your way to put a "hair trigger" on your gun. Even though it's easily rebuttable in court, why allow an attorney to even put the idea into a jury's head? Better to just get a Langdon Beretta that already has the trigger. Furthermore, I HAVE both the Langdon Beretta and the 92X Centurion. While the trigger on the Langdon is smoother and lighter, the difference is not enough to justify the time and expense of modifying the 92X, which comes with an excellent trigger. Also, I find the single action on the Langdon to be TOO light, especially for a duty gun, and especially if you keep your finger on the trigger between shots. The first couple of shots I took, the momentum of the slide slamming back into battery from the first double-action shot would pull the gun forward against my trigger finger, triggering a second, single-action shot--essentially "bump-firing" itself (I've since trained myself not to do that). And that was a non-stress situation. 😅

In most cases I would agree not to change the trigger for a duty gun, but due to the long and heavier DA, if I can lighten that up a bit so I can shoot with better accuracy at a faster rate, I will definitely do that. The trigger only comes into play when a shot goes off that was not intentional. If the trigger is bumpfireing on you then you do have a good argument to go to stock. Better safe than sorry for sure in that case.

I bought mine new in 2021 and it came with 2 18rnd mags and they’re smooth and shiny.

Thanks for a great video. I used hi visibility green luminous paint on my front sight for good day and night time performance.

Picked up a 92x rdo Centurion recently. I got the one that came with 2 18rd mags. I put a Swampfox Liberty 2 on mine with the Beretta plate. I don’t mind the way it looks too much after mounting it for the price. Looking forward to shooting it soon I hope.

Beretta 92 mags with the hole near the bottom is for the older models that have a "heel" magazine release.
Regarding mags, I just stick to Mec-Gar mags. They are everywhere, may get a sale, and some mags are 17-round capacity.
The problem with LTT's optic cut is they use 2 modified slide parts. Once you get the LTT optic cut, you have to use their slide parts forever and not Beretta OEM. Hopefully LTT does not go bust in the future.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile  ปีที่แล้ว +2

You have a good point with the LTT slide, I wouldn’t be surprised if beretta made a deal with LTT to redesign their slide like LTT did for mass production.

@@Duty2Domicile I kind of doubt Beretta would adopt LTT's optic mounting system and parts any time soon.
The Beretta RDO system is a compromise to support optics on a gun that was not originally designed for it. Barely anyone mounted optics on a semi-auto pistol in the '70s.
Next is it's going to cost money for Beretta to use LTT optics cut and parts because they are most likely patented. Sure Langdon and Beretta have worked before together, such as the LTT Elite guns.
The biggest problem is logistics. With so much duty use of the 92 worldwide, it's parts are widely available for a DA/SA gun. Those parts are interchangeable with most models of the 92. Introducing different slide parts is going to be a big headache.
I think Beretta is currently happy with their RDO cut. Team Beretta shooter JJ Racaza won last year's IPSC World Shoot, under the Production Optics division, with a 92X Performance RDO. According to the press release, he had input into the RDO system. So Beretta has data on use of the RDO system and a IPSC World Shoot medal to back it up.
Now people may think I'm a Beretta fanboy and defending it, to which I'm not. I just want to be fair. I'm not particularly happy with Beretta on the late introduction of the M9A3 and 92XI to the market. If you look at those models, there is no significant technological change where those models could have been on the market years ago. Beretta sat on it's laurels in having the US M9 contract. These newer models came to the market only when the military decided to transition over to Sig's M17/M18.
I think a true "Gen 2" 92 pistol is possible. Maybe a polymer model? I know the locking block would be a problem for that.
I completely agree that Beretta's plates for RDO pistols are too thick. They can definitely spend more engineering time to make it thinner.

@@graystoke8229 good point, I think they should do some redesigning on the px4 storm and put out an updated version of that.

I really love the pistol, wanted to get the Centurion but didn't check to confirm I had the Centurion before leaving the gun store, got home and realized that I had the full size, store wouldn't change it out so now I have to save up to get the Centurion.

I was looking for a Centurion and found a compact and one of these, I went back the next day to purchase it, but all that was left was the Compact so i bought it. It came with 2 -15rds Mec-Gar mags, I am thinking of replacing the front sight also, I also bought the "G" converter kit.
I just took the CPL class, I haven't applied with my County yet but I will the end of May. Good video, I'm looking forward to your follow up video!
    Just subscribed too 👍

Thanks for the view and comments! The sights are an improvement for sure over the old M9, but the front sight could be a bit brighter in color, for my eyes anyway.

Parker mountain comp looks a LOT better than the jarvis. IMHO Langdon tactical has a sweet flat face trigger, as well... lastly, the brass Lok grips are super dope. have fun, bud

I was debating which one too. Jarvis is better IMO. Jarvis attaches using a set screw which makes it removable. PMM use crush washers and locktite so taking it off is next to impossible
