this is food for lazy or high/drunk people. I don't know any one that goes to the store for hostess Twinkies or ding dongs. They taste horrible. The chocolate does not taste like chocolate .

Im not from USA, and have never tried Twinkies...but, anything with that ratio of cream to biscuit for that cheap ass price is bound to be shit. Its not rocket science. If that same biscuit was filled with nutella for example, it would have cost three times as much.
I have tried Oreos though, and Im still not sure whats the hype behind it. Its a decent cookie, nothing more, nothing less.

I grew up in Europe in to this day I can't stand overly sweet things. Cake icing is nasty. It's not so much about restrictions on preservatives and stuff...cause they probably wouldn't use it even if they could .....they've just never liked overly sweet things.

Younger ppl should know that at some point between the 80's and late 90's, they changed either the recipe or the prep method for Twinkies. In the 80's they were super fluffy, which ppl loved. Most ppl only love Twinkies bc of the nostalgia

Emily Gisler Krispy Kreme is woefully over rated. They're the McDonald's of donuts. Even Winchell's puts them to shame. You want really good donuts, find an independent no-name non-franchise shop owned and operated by an elderly Chinese couple who start running the fry-o-laters around 3-4 AM. But take heed: after their apple fritters and maple glaze old-fashioned's and even the mundane simple glazed and frosted cake types, there really is no going back. Also, it doesn't matter which town or which elderly Chinese couple. Their donuts will be the best within a couple miles.

Oooo, they're way too sweet for me. The glazed are great when they're fresh cz they melt in your mouth, but after they stale up, nah. I haven't had other KK doughnuts, just the glazed, so I can't comment on the rest. I like the mom & pop doughnuts best, though. Non-chains do it right. :)
I don't like snack cakes at all. I used to when I was young, then I started frequenting a lot of nice cafes with fresh baked goods and realized how horrible they are. I sometimes get nostalgic for a Twinkie or something and get one, then realize my memory of their taste and their actual taste are vastly different, much like McDonald's cheeseburgers. Then I wonder if they used to be made with better ingredients in the 80s and 90s and the quality has gone downhill or if they were always crap and I just didn't know any better.

+moonlily1. I think a bit of both. Twinkies used to be made with buttercream and not hydrogenated soybean oil. They used to have flour and egg in them also. But in the 80'2 and 90's (we may be close in age), I also dipped chicken in ketchup.
Joe Clark I feel very confident that Pop Tarts were always disgusting and it took a maturing of the palette to realize it. When you're a kid, anything sweet is 'good' by default. But Hostess cakes, I'm not so sure. It seems to me that the Hostess cupcakes weren't always so dry and flavorless, but I have no proof of that.

***** Those Chocolate Cupcake things? I eat those every now and again...but I don't like them really. In fact? I only eat them to drink milk. I hate white milk really, except with cereal. However? Those cupcakes? Makes white milk taste incredible to me...I can down a moose glass of skim milk in a second after eating one of those and it's incredibly refreshing-- how it takes all the chocolate taste out of your mouth. It's like a tic almost. A prompt to drink milk. It reminds me of when I was a kid and would dump sand in my hair to pick it out, or spread glue on my hands, let it dry, and peel it off. Just an odd, satisfying thing to do.
So have they tried the Little Debbie brand of snack cakes/bars yet. Oatmeal creme pies, nutty bars? They won't like them.

Sydney Sharrow Little Debbie's stuff tastes way more artificial than Hostess. Their frosting tastes like sugar mixed with a noxious wax that coats the inside of your mouth and makes it feel like you've just eaten a crayon, and their cakes are always stale and dry af. Hostess is like Delmonico's to Little Debbie's Outback Steakhouse.

Hostess treats. We're hoping to visit Ireland next year. Am I to believe that Ireland has FABULOUS pastries and/or treats better than Hostess cupcakes. I didn't see them eat the chocolate cupcake with the white filling. Used to be my favorite. In the early 1950's I'd get twenty-five cents for mowing the yard. Down to the gas station that had a little snack bar in it. Ten cents for three Hostess chocolate cupcakes in one package, ten cents for an RC Cola and five cents for bubble gum. Maybe we're in for an incredible culinary experience. Except few of these young folks like chocolate, peanuts or peanut butter. What in the world do they eat?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Ireland bans growing "genetically modified" crops. So it might not just "organic frankenfood nuts" who have that viewpoint over there.
If it's banned, that's because they don't understand it or were doing something wrong with their plants. Genetic modification, when properly done, is harmless.
Crayola Candy Absolutely. Genetically modified foods are inescapable. Carrots weren't orange until they were selectively bred centuries ago. All beef is genetically modified if not from an auroch. It's also why dogs come on more breeds than wolf and slightly smaller wolf

The cream filling is made of Beef tallow, whipped with Sugar. Best if eaten with Whisky, as that reduces the Carcinogenic properties. (a little)
Are Irish cakes, candy, muffins, & cookies, etc., not very sweet? I've just noticed in these videos that the Irish taste testers regularly react negatively to American sweet treats as being waaaaaay too sweet.
Because American pre-packaged foods ARE way too sweet. Im American and I noticed it even when I was a kid. Go for a length of time without or with only homemade and then try packaged again. First bite will make you literally wince.
