Yeah Mitch said it was maybe a standard gym bar but Eddie had his own bars at his gym strength asylum, he talked about one of his bars getting locked up that big wide one after a few people hurt themselves with it.
yeah, the bar is a must. with the flex normal bars have I dont think you'll be able to get it without plates sliding and falling off. Not sure how Eddie managed that. Could be his bar also had slightly longer sleeves.
When I look back Mitch, I see the guy in the white cap could have holded the plates on the last lift. 5:55. You look tired but I know you could have done it. It's going back down that's the hard part.
I love little challenges this like. Not only is it great to see strength pushed to the next level but it also in a way celebrates the athletes that came before.

@@deltalima6703beltless is way better… it develops ur abdominal muscles hence why even at the body fat % that Eddie is his abs r still visible and absolutely massive. Wearing belt will stop ur abdominal muscles from activating and won’t strengthen them
@@animalscars3799 this is an absurd understanding of what the belt does. the belt gives something for your abdominal wall to brace against, enabling much more activation of your abdominal muscles than beltless, which is the real reason you can lift more safer with a belt. you can use your abdominal muscles MORE with the belt. that's the advantage.

My brother passed away a week ago and the gym and your videos have saved my own life and thanks to your dead lift seminar I got the confidence to dead lift I was able to do 200 pounds for 15 reps my first time last week. I think you will do it, just because of your personal drive and positivity. You always hear of people going to dark places to lift heavy. I think staying it the best places in your head will always motivate bigger weights to move than darkness
I think you can and will do it, Mitch. Stay healthy and keep getting stronger! But I have to disagree about it being up there with Eddies 500kg lift. Unless youre talking "up there" as in 3rd to the 500 and 501 lifts. Also, the 501 isn't even close to the same as Eddies lift because Eddies attempt at the time was being laughed at as impossible. Major props to Hafthor for lifting 501... but many of us expected it.

How about the grip test of pinching two old school deep dish plates, flat side out, and pick it up? If you can pick it up see how many reps. THis is one that I saw Brian Shaw do on History's strongest Man TV show.

He used the same one that he used for 500kg, which is his personal deadlift bar that he locks up in the gym that he goes to.

You should try Brian Shaw's 5 rep seated 176lb Thomas Inch DB shoulder presses. He lifted them into position by himself too. Like DAYUM.
