I'm not a religious woman, yet I am a spiritual one. When I come across a grave that seems neglected or damaged from ages, I say lament to give peace to the desecration, whether purposefully or not. I also wear a talisman ( 20" chain with several added charms either gifted or anointed). I wish I could run my hands on the stone walls 🧱 or on a 500 year old gravestone. I truly like it when you point things out it makes it so much more interesting thank you. I didn't know that there was a thing like a shroud burial. That sure is sad to see garbage in a mausoleum. I wonder you pointed out some weigh scales on a grave stone do you know what it means ? Thank you for sharing another great video 📹 I truly appreciate what you do . Have a wonderful blessed day , travel safely from Marie in Northern British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦

20:39 The carvings on that headstone are breathtaking & beautifully preserved considering the age ❤
Such a shame that that mausoleum door was broken & coffins & bones scattered about filled with rubbish.😢

It's the rubbish that I just don't get, not all of it blows in, which means people dump it, now that's disrespectful

@@SerenitySueGraveyards The dearly departed are not frightening; it's some of the living that are scary especially those who do that to burial places.

stumbled on your channel. Loving all those old churches that I will never see in real life. In Canada we think a 100 year old church is ancient, but to see churches from the 1200's is amazing.

You see so many dilapidated crypts and gravesites, I was wondering if the desecration affects how you’re planning for your own final arrangements. I’m leaning toward cremation for myself. None of my business if you don’t want to answer. Thanks for the video.

Burial processes & properties/cemeteries from 200yrs ago don't wholly reflect procedures today.
After having worked as a gravedigger, cremation didn't seem such a bad idea

I love the fact you usually whisper when looking into mausoleums, as if the occupants would ask you to be quiet if you used your normal voice 😁

They should make laws that would keep cemeteries clean and taken care of anywhere in the world. They are final resting places for people . A beautiful place you are showing ,if they could just preserve it better.

So what the heck happened inside the crypt you showed with the skulls? People got in and desecrated the bodies and coffins? All the trash? Geez even in Ireland?

I'm not 100% sure, could be vandals or animals, may have been graverobbers. Sure is a sorry sight

@@SerenitySueGraveyards Thank you very much for getting back to me. One last question if I may ask?
I noticed that, with many of these mausoleums, there is no stone floor. Is this to facilitate shroud burials? As in; Dust thou art, and to dust, thou shalt return.....
