Its a stunning repro, so much better than the Lvc version with the wrong pockets placing and most of the japanese repros which mostly to long. Fantastic denim. Don't be shy to wash with 60 degrees if its to roomy. It will shrink. I wear size 40 with 75kg and 174cm. Correct length like a original.
Thanks. I have ended up washing it and putting it through the dryer. I fits much better now, it’s still roomy but that’s typical of the type 2 jacket. The sleeves are still a bit long on me but that’s almost always the case for me being a shorter guy.
Thank you. It is a size 40, I’m 175cm & 75kg. In my latest video (update! washing nudie jeans) I’ve recently given it a full wash and even put it through the dryer & it’s now just the right size, it is a slightly roomy fit but perfect for layering.
Thanks and well spotted. Yes this is actually a reproduction of the Levis 507xx type 2 jacket from 1954. This was the precursor to the current type 3 Levis trucker jacket which was introduced in 1962.
If you’re comparing like with like then the Bronson is significantly cheaper than Levis, currently on the Levis website a type 2 jacket in raw selvage denim will cost AUD$440 (on special) where as you can get the Bronson on AliExpress for about AUD$180. If you’re comparing to a different type of denim jacket then it’s really depends on what style and features you’re after.
Hi @jeanwyclef-wv1mh the length is really a matter of personal taste, I quite like shorter jackets as longer jackets can tend to make me look shorter (although I do have some long jackets as well). Shorter jackets were historically made so it was easier for people to wear them when horse riding, motorcycle riding, driving, etc.
Hi @ashurward47 I haven’t measured or weighed myself in a while but I’m around 170cm (5’8”) tall and 80kg (176 lbs). I own a Bronson henley tee in large which fits perfectly (a medium would definitely be to small). This denim jacket is unsanforized which means it will shrink up to 10% when washed, I have soaked it once in hot water and it is still a little larger than I would like but I suspect it will shrink even more once I give it it’s proper first wash. Also because of my height the sleeves are a little bit longer than ideal but there’s not much I can do about that, as a shorter guy I either have to put up with it or get it tailored sometime down the road.
Thanks @503punxoioio9 Yes it is a little larger than I would like but I did buy it a little bit larger so I could wear sweaters under it comfortably in winter. Also because it’s unsanforized it will shrink quite a bit when washed, I have done 1 soak on it so far but I expect it will shrink more when I give it it’s first proper wash as unsanforized denim can shrink up to 10% it’s original size. I also own a Bronson Henley long sleeve tee in large which fits perfectly and is meant to fit the same as the denim jacket once washed.

Hi. Nice gift. But it looks like a Levis trucker jacket tho..?

@@TheTwistedHazel Is there any advantages of buying it from Bronson? I mean I assume you had no options since it was a gift for you. Let me know :D

👋 Hi, after once washed, 22.8 inch for length isn't too short for you?

Nice jacket! Good to start seeing some Bronson reviews. The jacket on you looks too big and the arms too long IMHO.
