Good video mate
super cool to see more high detail brands popping up, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, glad you liked it.
What a fantastic jacket! And your watch is great
Thank you. I couldn’t believe it when I found the jacket and it was only $18. It’s missing some buttons at the front but they’re easily replaced. The watch is also very inexpensive from AliExpress.
I don’t know your name but you are an icon! Keep it up. I rate the fit 🫶
Thank you so much. That’s really kind.
Very cool
Thank you 🙏
hello
Hello. You guys make a great pair of jeans.
@@TheTwistedHazel Can I get your contact information?
@@TheTwistedHazel Can I get your contact details
You can contact me at thetwistedhazel@gmail.com
Are the pockets deep enough for a modern phone ?
I have an IPhone 13 Pro which is about 15cm long, the front pockets are deep enough for the phone but it sticks out a little bit in the back pockets
@@TheTwistedHazelnice ! For me that’s perfect😄 & also from what I saw in the waist measurements the vintage run bit small? Or shrinkage from hot water my guess ???
@@TheTwistedHazel well I want to say maybe it was that of them being washed in hot water . I’m seeing a brand new vintage pair (75-80 maybe) just waiting on measurements to see how compared to sizing with my other jeans to see if it’ll be perfect for my boots
Yeah I would always get the actual measurements before buying because even deadstock vintage the sizing could be odd.
@@TheTwistedHazel I got sent the pics today and for it being brand new and putting once again around it being from 1975-1985 ( ish) , they do run bit smaller then the modern ones and they aren’t even the slim fit style either just cowboy straight leg & also from what I saw in your video even the vintage ones had a nice high waisted style too, right ?
How do you figure out when they were manufactured?
It’s actually the care label that helped me identify their age. I’ve done a full review of them where I go through this in more detail th-cam.com/video/oUa4t1ogKwc/w-d-xo.html I got the information originally from @LootFam who have a fantastic video on identifying vintage Wranglers
@@TheTwistedHazel thank you for that info & I’ll check out that video you put in the link . Also I’ll check out loots video & also if it’s used , you do the Lysol laundry sanitizing or just regular wash and line dry??
@@TheTwistedHazelthat video helped a lot thanks !
I don’t give a rats ass who does for the jeans I buy, it’s just posturing for the company and for picky buyers
Ok
i have their type 1 jacket in black selvedge. it's pretty good value. not sure if it's real selvedge but whatever. it's semi cropped and kinda boxy.
The type 1 and type 2 jackets do tend to be a bit boxy as they were originally designed as workwear. I’ve got a type 2 from Bronson and it’s definitely a roomy/boxy fit. I’m pretty impressed with the denim of these jeans, I’m no expert but the Selvedge looks genuine to me. I just got them hemmed at a specialist denim store and they were impressed by the quality as well.

Broken Twill was introduced in the mid 60s by Wrangler, not the 40s. Naked and Fmous do broken twill from time to time, check out their Elephant 11 Broken Twill.
Thanks for the info. I did see that Naked and Famous do broken twill, I’d love to check them out but you can only get them online in Australia. There’s also a Chinese brand called Second Order that I believe do Selvedge broken twill as well.
Loving the outfit 🎉
Thanks, glad you like it
Not selvage then?
No, Wranglers moved away from using selvage denim some time in the early 60s. Wrangler does have an archive range which replicates their vintage styles from this time and they have some models which are made from Japanese selvage.
Great video. Great timing. I bought a pair of new wrangler original cowboy cut jeans yesterday. I’m based in Queensland. They are probably the nicest pair I own. I have rm Williams, lees, evisu and rrl. These have the nicest fit in terms of rise and width and comfort
I really have been impressed with their fit, I love my Lee 102 jeans but I keep going back to these vintage Wranglers. Maybe it’s just because they’ve already been worn in but the denim just feels comfortable and robust, not to mention I’m loving the 70’s 80’s vibes they’re giving me.
😂
🤔
Do you know per chance if they make a version of that black heavyweight T shirt without the chest pocket ?
No unfortunately it doesn’t look like they do this particular t-shirt without the pocket. They do have this option without the pocket: a.aliexpress.com/_m0SUefw It’s 310gsm/9oz in weight so not as heavy as this pocket tee but still what I would class as a heavyweight t-shirt
@@TheTwistedHazel You’re a legend, thank you for taking the time to find that for me i appreciate it!
Always happy to help 👍
This Lee jacket would be the outfit I would most like to have but here in my country it is very difficult to find
Yes the Lee Jackets are hard to come by in Australia as well, it’s one of the reasons I bought this Simwood jacket as it’s a good alternative. There’s also a Storm Rider style jacket that’s made by Red Tornado brand on AliExpress, I’ve had my eye on it for a while but they appear to be out of stock for the moment.
Great pair of jeans. For some it would seem like it was too big for you but I suffer from the same problem, if you buy a smaller size it becomes very tight and uncomfortable.
They’re certainly not as slim in the thigh as some boot cut jeans, definitely roomier than Wranglers, but I do like being able to get may hands in the pockets without it being a struggle. It would have been nice to compare the 33 to the 34 but ai wasn’t going through the hassle of sending them back to Japan for an exchange.
@@TheTwistedHazel I also ended up with the pants I bought online in the wrong size. I still can't choose the right measurements. The best thing is without a doubt to try it in the store before buying. I would like to have the right size of legs to fit neatly into pants. Sometimes it looks good on the legs but doesn't fit around the waist. I only have access to pants from more well-known brands, but with a lot of model limitations, the Levi's 501 36x34 is too big for me. The ideal would be a 34x32 but I found it tight when I tried it on in the store. I really liked the softness of the cotton without elastane
NICE
Thanks, glad you like.
Classic look 👌👌👌👌💯💯
Hi. Nice gift. But it looks like a Levis trucker jacket tho..?
Thanks and well spotted. Yes this is actually a reproduction of the Levis 507xx type 2 jacket from 1954. This was the precursor to the current type 3 Levis trucker jacket which was introduced in 1962.
@@TheTwistedHazel Is there any advantages of buying it from Bronson? I mean I assume you had no options since it was a gift for you. Let me know :D
If you’re comparing like with like then the Bronson is significantly cheaper than Levis, currently on the Levis website a type 2 jacket in raw selvage denim will cost AUD$440 (on special) where as you can get the Bronson on AliExpress for about AUD$180. If you’re comparing to a different type of denim jacket then it’s really depends on what style and features you’re after.
Nice outfit and cute dog
Thanks, she does like to be involved.
Thank you. I’m really glad I could be of help. Despite some of my complaints, I do still enjoy this watch, I’ve just added a better leather band and matching gold buckle which makes a big difference.
Bro my W is 34 but i ordered 33 due to sale . Am i gonna regret this😢😢😢
Waist 34, what size should I get?
@@kkkk-nt5pr I found out W33 but real size is 34 which is okay . since it is skinny i recommned u buy 34
As it’s a regular straight fit they are a bit more forgiving in size. I was a 32 when I bought these, I’ve recently gained some weight and am now a size 33 but I can still wear these fine. They will stretch a bit over time, especially after a couple washes.
Стирать джинсы в машинке? Идиотизм!
Is that sarcasm or denim purity? All opinions welcome 😀
Machine wash inside out without spin cycle is how you’re supposed to wash them.
Good content thanks. Really like the bright green jacket. Looks good on you. Cheers.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. When I was at Ben Nevis clothing I was tossing up between the racing green and the army green, which also looked awesome, but in the end I needed something a bit brighter so the racing green won out (also it’s a very iconic British colour).
My nudie jeans faded unevenly. One leg has faded way more than the other and the pocket on the faded one has the same color and texture as the other darker leg. So weird :(
Strange indeed, although with older more traditional crafts you do tend to have less guarantee of material uniformity. At the end of the day you’ve at least got a unique pair of jeans.
Really cool design, but..
But it is a cheap watch, and you get what you pay for.
I see when you wash your raws i like to soak them in cold water first for a few minutes before you wash in the machine stops the vertical lines as much but you do you bro i love raw denim ive got 10 pair both nudie and naked and famous waiting till it gets abit colder to wear mine in 'brisbane ' you no to hot but thats part of Labor in fading good jeans i guess good videos thanks
Thanks, I’m glad you liked the vid. I’m hoping to get a couple more pairs of cheaper raw selvedge to compare, I might try your technique to see how it goes.
don't mind the fade lines, they will even out with wear and add to the texture of the fades. btw, you will be fine spinning them after like the 4th or 5th wash after the denim has softened up, no lines guaranteed!
Thanks for the tip. It’s been interesting to try different techniques and see the results.
I just found a pair on Facebook marketplace for 40 bucks. I tried them on and I immediately fell in love with them. When you specified three percent in shrinking, does that mean per wash or for the lifetime of the jeans? I also noticed that there were a couple holes in the pocket, so I sewed them using a needle and thread. Great video. Very informative! Stay blessed.
Very nice! I’m glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
@@TheTwistedHazelhe asked you a question
@brandonpeniuk you can expect around 3% shrinkage over the lifetime of the jeans. Once they’ve been washed several times they should have reached their maximum shrinkage. Also remember that cotton does stretch over time with wear so 3% shrinkage doesn’t tend to be an issue for most people.
👋 Hi, after once washed, 22.8 inch for length isn't too short for you?
Hi @jeanwyclef-wv1mh the length is really a matter of personal taste, I quite like shorter jackets as longer jackets can tend to make me look shorter (although I do have some long jackets as well). Shorter jackets were historically made so it was easier for people to wear them when horse riding, motorcycle riding, driving, etc.
Thanks 😊 Liked and subscribed!!
Yes, very disappointing and annoying. After being bought out late 2023 by a billionaire who apparently can't get enough money, they are now made in Indonesia. I am buying Redbacks now. Fully Aussie made and better in most peoples opinion...and cheaper despite the manufacturing location. Deserve to be supported.
great information about the flannel shirts! what is your height and weight for size reference?
Thanks @Bloodstryke I’m 175cm (5’9”) and 75kg (165lbs)
Apparently they're now made in Indonesia.
Gina Rhinehart bought the company last year, so they are still going to be made in South Australia. Yes I think some models are made in Indonesia.
@@stevep2430 All Chelsea Boots are either Indonesia or India on the site.
@@stevep2430i called the old factory outlet today. No Rossi boots are made in SA anymore.
@@johnricc5868 Just another way for Gina to line her pockets.
I think they’re better than Blundstones.
nudies for the most part are sanforized but with multiple washed you will notice the denim have shrunk a bit. unlike unsaforized after the first woak you will know straight away your denim have shrunk. mainly in the length and a little on the waist
12-13 oz is the perfect weight for Australia.
I agree, my work jeans are 12oz and wear them most of the year, except in the hottest months (I’m not wearing jeans in 35°C). I would love to try an 11oz cotton/viscose selvedge pair I’ve had my eyes on
i used to be a fade geek till i stopped and the fades just came over time. there is no need to care for fades even a new pair looks amazing. just a clean look. as it fades u get another look over time which is still good. For me the fit is the most important thing
Very true. But it is nice when you start to see them age uniquely to you.
Thanks for your review, I've just bought a black bexley in XL im usually a large but sized up , i owned a few Barbour jackets growing up in the uk, im currently living in florida but planning on returning to the uk in the near , i also ordered a Barbour corbridge looking forward to comparing the two of them
I do love Peregrine clothing, I haven’t owned a Barbour waxed jacket but I have tried them on and I have to admit it felt slightly more premium but there wasn’t much in it.
@@TheTwistedHazel I just got another black bexley jacket in XXL because it was in sale at Nordstrom for $180 , so now I have 2 🤷
Nice score.
3%? they're sanforized
Yes, they’re definitely sanforised. I learned since making this video that unsanforised will shrink around 8-10%
Love my Rossi Endurance boots! Just went to order a new pair though and see that they’re now made in Indonesia. Do you know how they compare to the Australia made ones?
I have previously owned an Indonesian made pair and I found that the quality was just as good. Rossi have maintained a pretty good quality control and Indonesia actually has a really professional boot making industry, partly due to the Dutch introducing western boot making back in the day.
@The TwistedHazel what´s the size I AM 1,67 AND 77... LOOKS great i order a usn nº1 navy deck from Bronson
Thank you. It is a size 40, I’m 175cm & 75kg. In my latest video (update! washing nudie jeans) I’ve recently given it a full wash and even put it through the dryer & it’s now just the right size, it is a slightly roomy fit but perfect for layering.
@@TheTwistedHazel Thank you apreciate
Great stuff mate! Did you get more Chinese jeans or jackets recently? Would love to see more
Thanks @amonpeideng1545 I haven’t got anymore Chinese jackets or jeans at the moment but so do have some on order so keep an eye out for a new video review of these in the near future.
Sorry Corey, but I am disappointed. Your film was about washing tips for your jeans. It took 20 mins before you started to talk about the topic.
Hi @davidsmith2813, thank you for the feedback. This was one of my first videos and I’m trying to learn & get better. It does help to know what people do and don’t like. I’ve recently posted an update to this video, I’d love to know what you think and if you think I’ve improved.
Love the vid. ❤ What state you from mate?
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it. I’m in Victoria.
What's the size, with inseam please?
The size I bought is 34in waist but in retrospect I probably should have bought a 33in. The original inseam length isn’t listed but the length from waist is listed as 44in. I’ve had them taken up and my inseam is 30in.
Mate are you building something or reviewing boots?
