Hi, I am from Poland, My country produce around 30% triticale in the whole world. In this season triticale was best choice on lower-class fields. We got around 7.5t/ha wheat compare to 8t-8.5t/ha winter triticale on even worse (avarege) class fields. The key was, that we had like 3-week drought in may, where wheat had run dry and we saw some burnouts, and on the other hand, the triticale with his long roots survived this hard time, and give us really good outcome. I am prette sure, that on this class field, 6t wheat was maximum to archive. We use triticale to feed pig, as around 20% component (50% barley, 30% wheat, 20% triticale (in our experience 30% is max you can give, but I dont recommend it) and there is no problem at all, triticale is much better than rye in this scenario. What I also like about triticale, it helps to break crop rotation without sacrificing efficiency. One thing, that is needed, is to not allow triticale grow to long, because it can be really pain in the ass to harvest if lying down. Best regards to all of you guys :)
