In order to actually start winning in Mahjong (especially if you're a beginner), you NEED to watch this video which covers the single most overpowered move you can possibly do: th-cam.com/video/ow_Ws1re8pw/w-d-xo.html
Suuankou Tanki, Junsei Chuuren Poutou, Daisuushii, and Kokushi 13men Machi have the same animations as their regular counterparts. They just have the variation applied Tenhou and Chihou just have the kanji switched but the animation is still the same
Now that I've gotten better at mahjong, I now realize how downright embarrassing it was to be the one who discarded the tile someone else needed for their 13 orphans💀 It was my fifth game of mahjong ever, and I quit playing for like a week afterwards
This happens to me a week ago. I just opened the game, hop into ranked match and as usual trying to form a sequence with whatever hand i have and discarded a tiles i dont need not knowing its the tile for the opponents 13 orphan. Much worse its literally my first game and first round of the day and the game ends just like that lol
@@yaypeacepeace Just checked the list on the game, i think i mistook the combination. But my point is why some combination can't be used on ranked? I'm still learning mahjong
@@zakikan384 do you mean local yaku? those are yaku that aren't used in the normal rules for japanese mahjong, so they're disabled in ranked. some rulesets use them but most of the time they are not used.
Anything above double is a combination of multiple yakuman, it will simply play the animation of the rarest one in the combo. For example, Suuankou + Tsuuiisou will play Tsuuiisou's animation because that's rarer.
ik this is unrelated to the vid but i wanted to ask a question about speaking I have an issue when I try to speak Japanese, I can't quite recreate that native tone when I'm speaking, and I'm constantly saying Japanese words in an American/western tone. is there anything that could help me practice my speaking so that I can sound less like an American? thanks :)
its the pronunseishon, english speakers tend to pronunce every word as 2 or more sounds, try speaking them like spanish people, 1 letter is 1 sound, simple as that, cause its the same as japanese
@@winnieelegante6901 Yeah actually believe it or not after 1 month of that comment, my pronunciation quality boosted significantly. It's probably because I tried recording myself speaking which helped me a ton ironically, i have a little background in Asian languages (cantonese) however i didnt think it contributed too much nevertheless, now I can say I dont sound weird when practicing reading aloud and I'm determined to accelerate my progress over the summer😅

All the Double Yakuman variants have changed Kanji too.
5:00 bro, chiihou with saki, must be so amusing to get.
It was meant to be
the ultimate Miyanaga Saki experience would be
Suukantsu with Rinshan Kaihou.
Getting that would be fucking insane.
These two yakumans are not included such as Daisharin And renhou!
Daisharin and Renhou are local yakumans. Local yakuman do not have animations in Mahjong Soul and are not even enabled by default.
What is happening in this game at 4:20?? East is tenpai to Daisangen but deals into Daisuushii??
Across lord also just has 7 open dora, honestly just looks like a wild hell round
I held a gun to him

it's sad i don't get to see these in game, playing on pc instead of mobile.
You can still see them by downloading the app on an Emulator on PC instead of using the website ^^
@@JouzuJuls yeah, true. probably still won't do that, but that's an option.
@@JouzuJuls Does the PC client version have them?
@@blazechar0011 Dunno, haven't tried it yet
@@JouzuJuls I went back to a replay where I got death by Thirteen Orphans on the PC client and confirmed that the animation is in it.
Why like the first one can't be done in ranked tho? Sometimes I looked this game's tiles combination, and saw some combination can't be done in ranked
what do you mean? all of these hands can be achieved in ranked.

All normal yaku & yakuman can be done regardless of ranked or not.
.
The only yaku you can't do in ranked are local yaku.
Now Riichi City (?)
What about Renhou/DaiChiSei
Local yakuman do not have custom animations
Quad or triple yakuman?
I'm not even sure if anyone has hit a quadruple in Mahjong Soul 4p East
Anything above double is a combination of multiple yakuman, it will simply play the animation of the rarest one in the combo.

I see for first time on riichi city .. quad and triple yakuman.. daiishuhi
How do you get the animations?
Play on anything but the browser version of the game.

do you need to unlock these animations?
Nope! The answer to where you can find these animations are in this video here 😁 th-cam.com/video/ow_Ws1re8pw/w-d-xo.html
They're apparently only on the mobile client.
