based on my experience playing a rustier pro than you with the same setup, I think trey will get bageled.
Those racquets feel surprisingly nice to hit with. My money is on Karue, no games dropped.
Trey has a serve which could get him a game when Karue gets used to Saber so 6-1 Karue
I would have picked Trey over Nadal with the Saber but not the clean hitting Karue. Great return practice for Karue because Trey uses his height on the serve well.

It's amazing how much you were able to cause Karue problems with your serve! It's massive given your rating, for sure! You do need to work on all your foot-faulting, however, particularly on the Deuce side. That right foot gets in front of your left and into the court quite a bit.
Your forehand did damage, too! I agree that it might have been the best serving I have seen you produce! You even got a game off Karue! Incredible! You are a threat against anyone, dude!

@@andrelara2401 roddick. Cant believe it myself, but i saw him with a frying pan against a regular player. Didnt look convincing, but he won by hitting airballs/weak shots and waiting for errors.
What a nice idea, and Trey held his own. What I also find interesting: 11:55 the saber is marketed as a sweet-spot tool, but apparently it really improves your footwork as well.
You need good footwork to get to the spot that allows you to hit the sweet spot. Karue mentioned this fact as I'm watching this. 12:01.

@@mbr1254 Federer said something to the extent of needing to move fast, so you can hit with more time. Isn't that always the truth! I'd say 70% of the stroke is moving towards it.

This has given me an idea about how can give myself a handicap using my FT Saber against a weekend warrior I sometimes hit with. It will also help me focus the mind and my foot work 👍

He constantly foot faults. Most of his serves don’t count.
Oh I didn't notice...that's something easy to fix and I don't think it would change the big serves, at least not that much.@@Be_Real_2

For sure. I think Karue was only half trying here, and made a lot of noises like it was hard, but it really wasn't. That's no slight on Trey at all. It's just Karue is a pro.@@soundoflasers

Great stuff and I love to see you playing against all levels and the creative content. I agree a 9 UTR against you with that racket would be a close match. At that level, they should be able to push you around more if you're using that racket. I think you still win, but let's see it! And I agree with all the comments that Trey continues to get better. He is a solid athlete. If he has an actual coach and takes some lessons, watch out.

+@Tlevy2 9 UTR should be too good for sure... I like the idea of starting with 6 utr and slowly working his way up maybe after that half a point of utr leaps each time or a little more. I've seen 10 utrs in person smacking the ball at each other with extreme consistency so 9 should be impossible with this racquet
Trey got a great serve for UTR 5.5. I love warming up with saber, but certainly don’t have the legs to use it on the run. Crazy how well Krue hits with it.
I need to find out my UTR and fly out to The West Coast !!
Excellent demonstration that tennis is also between the ears. I'd like to see what would happen against a player who knew court position and tactics just a bit better. More attacking, moving in, etc.
I switched to a junior racket recently and found that besides a considerably drop in power everything else is pretty much the same. This racket also has smaller head but I don't think that would have much effects on consistency unless the 5.5 can really force Karu to hit on the run constantly which is not very likely. So my prediction is, it would take longer but Karu still wins eventually.
Great to see Fabio Molle's Saber racket featured! I played with it last week. It surely makes it challenging to keep a rally going.
Great set Karue! You always say your backhand is your better shot, but it seemed to me that your forehand was what shined in this tough situation.

Great match Karue! Was fun to watch. I think you really exposed Trey’s backhand after the first couple of games. Trey’s a great player and I’m sure he’ll improve that part of his game soon.
Notice how Karue hits zero bh slice because despite being oddly good at most strokes, slice is muchly bad with the saber haha! Fun match and love the yt tennis community crossover!

A Top 1000 player versus a UTR 5.5 is a massacre. The use of the Sabre racquet is only a minor hindrance.

Dude I called that set! 6-1, he knows the force of the saber! Perfect opportunity for winners only to learn from one of the best backhands in the world outside of the ATP 100. Edit: next call is you cook winston 6-3. Need more pop on the saber serve tho, go bigger first and same second.

Not to diminish Trey at all. He plays way better than I do, with solid strokes, great serves, and all. It just goes to show how incredibly high the pro-tennis level is.

Trey, stand one foot or 6 inches behind the baseline when serving. That will stop the foot-faulting.

I didn't read UTR in the title and thought Karue was playing with that racket against 5.5 USTA 😆and thought no way can he beat a 5.5 with that racket. Regardless, it's amazing to watch how effortlessly Karue plays.

serve feels a bit more controlled with the saber, less leg drive, just more careful in general. nice to see that kick serves are still possible with the saber though
trey has some really bad foot faults
I noticed the same thing, his right foot usually steps on or over the line on his first serve. Trey if you see this, just something to be aware of 🙂

Impressive! Do you change your swing in any way with the Saber (flatter?) to adapt or just kind of hit your normal strokes. I ordered one a few days ago, but suspect I’ll hit the frame (or even miss the racquet…😂) a lot.
I don’t try to spin the ball too much for better results but that’s also how I play with a normal racket

Karue, does the small head size “force” you to hit through the ball with better contact (as opposed to hitting late sometimes with buggy whips)? Trying to see if I should invest into one to improve my contact point. Thanks!
The level difference is huge. I think Karue could beat only with the handle too.

Confession time as well. My coach when I was a junior whooped me with something similar when I was 16. He was top 130 in the world, 2 time all American at UGA back in 1989.
And for those wondering, i was recruited by D1 and D2 schools back in the day so I could play.

Hi Karue, I’ve been playing for 5 months. Would you recommend the saber only for seasoned players or also for beginners trying to improve their ball contact?
Would probably stick to just learning how to hit the ball. I would recommend using the orange tennis balls (for kids and beginners) to learn how to get a few for the shot

My coach has told me that my forehand unit turn is very good and that by its looks he would say I’ve been playing for years but that I need to work on hitting that sweet spot.
Those are like highlights, I lack strength everywhere but I’ve felt the progress and I already reached my initial objective of being able to play with someone at a low amateur level.
Your channel has been also a cornerstone for my learning curve. Much respect and appreciation to you and your channel.

You can tell how much better the one guy is because of his forced "grunting". It's only mildly annoying and not yet on the borderlining a hindrance call. Which means still a little ways to go before being fully at the "pro" level.
