Very nice. I'll take 2. Sold? guess I'll have-ta wait for the next...pair. i'm impressed with your presentation. One of the few sellers, that actually knows what's in the rear. Good job.
I only hit the like button when you said it had been driven 2,500 miles after an insanely detailed)and expensive) restore. It's sad so many of these cars are just left to sit on a trickle charger.
I can give you a couple of specs on this car. At 65 mph on the freeway, it gets 16 mpg with the 9068 cam. Cruising at 100 mph, I got 13 mpg. The factory air cleaner is from Delco and, on the box, it reads 1970 1/2 Pontiac Trans America. It's an AC 366C The only place that I've seen it referred to as a Trans America rather than a Trans Am. One of the main assets of the Trans Am is the steering box. It is a high-effort,, high rate,, variable ratio box. It saved ma a few times. The solenoids that operate the flap in the hood scoop are the same as the solenoids on the anti-dieseling system. The A.C. compressor has a smaller pulley that the crank and, it does NOT like to go to 10,000 rpm. The Z-28 got a hybrid 10 bolt but, the Trans Am had a 12 bolt. I built both at GMAD Van Nuys.
When I was there it was called C-P-C Div Van Nuys.86-90 got lay off. Had high GM seniority but low location time. So, we were the Earlybird's to go when things were heading towards a shutdown in 91. I worked in the trim dept upstairs as TMR. I can't imagine how much you went through in the 70-80. I had worked for GM but never an assembly line before. We had a rear hatch that was open. you guys had none of that. I laugh remembering watching temps run for the door at the first chance the line stopped. To anyone who thinks we were over paid, has never work on a line. After the line stopped for the evening, we would walk the line for missed items all the way to the yard out back. Take care.
Dudes like you that keep these unique hot rods in mint condition are awesome, I work for the Ford Lincoln dealership and I absolutely hate the new vehicles, I think a muscle car is better than a Nautilus and that says alot.
Yes on the exhaust! The effort that they put into that back in the day was astounding as many cars had their own unique sound. The Corvette was one and you could tell it was a Vette with your eyes closed. And the crossflow muffler on the Firebird also had a great unique sound. Today most just put on Flomasters to make it as loud as possible and ruins the uniqueness and sounds terrible imho.
Back in 78, my buddy had a 1970 Trans Am “same specs / color as video” that gave me the bug for one, found back then a 1971 455 HO for $2500 but at the the time I ended up buying a 1978 Trans Am T-Top new for $8,500 I still kick my self for selling the 78, but passing on the 71 and looking back now I WAS A FOOL!!
Back in the 80s there was a 1969 Pontiac Trans Am Convertible for $25k and my dad tried so hard to borrow money. What if....worth over $1 million now!!!
Haha, I've done the same thing 35 years ago with a 72 Transam. Last year I found a 71 transam and could buy it. The prices are skyrocketing. Defently a keeper
Chad Kentile replaced alot of worn out part's she sat for a while. Original Pontiac 350 blew it now has a Chevy 400. Pontiac Motors are difficult to find
@@stephenflowers8516 I'll keep her like she is. I'm searching for a Formula Hood but dang they're expensive. Only aftermarket hood is carbon fiber. OER and other manufacturers don't make Formula Hood
@@nachos_70firebird66 Yeah, it's all getting very expensive. That's why I suggest making a clone out of a Firebird. After all, it's really just options on a Firebird. I'm sure you know what real 69 through 72 Trans Ams are going for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Them cars are big giant heavy slugs with a useless interior . performance also a joke . annoying buzzer when you put the key in to top it off and owners think they worth like 100 k dont fall for the good looking pos and if you must have one dont pay more than 5 k that's my story and im sticking to it.
I've always preferred stock exhaust sounds to custom exhaust systems. Early T/A s sounded perfect.
Yep...when u knew a Poncho was a Poncho...
I had one and yes i agree the factory exhaust was perfect for these.

I have a 74 TA 455, th400. Always been my favorite.
Beautiful car ! Inside and out. How fun would that be to own !
Beautifully restored T/A, guys!
I would love to know what this sold for? One of the best restorations I have ever seen...right down to the stock intake & carb...so sweet

Great test drive and explanation of the rebuild.
That is beautiful
Beautiful car. Had a 71 Formula 400, still maybe the bet car I ever owned.
I had a 4 speed 70 Formula 400.....great car, great exhaust note!

Squeaky pedal lol
Beautiful ride. Sounds fantastic.
That has to be the the prettiest blue I've ever seen.
Like the fact that you didn’t put the engine call out on the shaker scoop, 1970 trans am didn’t have the call out ,
Not our restore, but a well done one! Good eye.
The bent aftermarket(Reproduction) steering wheel drive me nuts.
Wrong rally II wheels. JW's should be on this car.
Deluxe seat and door panels... standard dash. Build sheet will most likely show a standard interior.
Front spring height makes it look like $hit.
Shoulder seat belt harness missing.
Hurst T-handle on shifter is NOT original.
I think the squeak is coming from the clutch pedal
God I wish I would have never gotten rid of mine!!
Some day.
thank;s for keeping it real.
Squeaky linkage cars have an 83 with the same squeak.
Sweet ride!!
Looking good, but disappointed to see the wheels and alternator were not correct for the car.
And the wrong front fenders too
Brand new in 1970, fully loaded was 5700 and change.

I would like to hear the car.
Does any hear the squeaks from the seats
Yes, but I figured the squeak was either the shifter linkage or the clutch pivot...
Yeah, we noticed afterward that the microphone was picking up a slight squeak from the clutch pedal. A little bit of lube fixed that.
@@ClassicCarStudio I thought that might be it, a good clutch makes linkages talk... 😁
What would this sell for??
Around $80 grand
How much ??
This one is sold... Pretty sure it was in the high 60's.
@@ClassicCarStudio Well there goes my dream car lol really nice example though!
My brother has a 70 Trans Am III 4Speed Same Colour Unrestored but Mint Has been in the family since new. I want it but won't happen.
I own a base model 1970 Firebird. Man I can't afford a 70' Trans Am 😅🤘💪
Still a gorgeous car, man.
Have you done anything to it?
Chad Kentile replaced alot of worn out part's she sat for a while. Original Pontiac 350 blew it now has a Chevy 400. Pontiac Motors are difficult to find
Yeah but you could turn that into a T/A pretty easily. Of course it wouldn't be a T/A but it would surely look a lot better.

The car is no doubt beautifu but that squeeking when shifting...😬l
My favorite MUSCLE CAR INDEED
It’s AM FM radio not fm am ! Kids these days.
He forgot to mention how a 800 doller acura t l would blow that big slug into the weeds and how they burn just as much oil as they do gas
Super duty turd !
