I'm over halfway through book 1, and Aaron high-key seems like physco from JUST this book alone. There were some scenes where it seems like he sexualizes her(forces her to wear revealing clothing), and forcefully moves her around(grabs her wrists, leads harshly her by her waist, and even pins her against a wall in one scene). However, it does make sense with the context of the book. For example: he doesn't make her wear revealing clothing to be sexy, it's to make others more scared of accidentally touching her skin & he harshly moves her around because she is a prisoner. But how the first book frames his actions, at least from Juliette's pov, do give me a weird and creepy vibe. Like bro does come off as a creep, and i low-key got some vibes that it was trying to romanticize the way he was attempting to manipulate her.

I read these books when they first came out and when I learned years later that she continued it, the books felt so insync and not disconnected and loved it, I recently bought the bookset and wanted to see an updated version of a review and yours seemed really on point and in depth without giving spoilers. LOVED IT , also just saw there will be a sequel coming out, can't wait to see where it leads to.

I have been wanting to read Shatter Me series for quite some time now. I keep coming back to it on my tbr, but I guess; I get a bit intimidated because of all the hype around; I feel this pressure that I HAVE to like it. after watching your video I now have a better understanding of the series. will definitely be picking it up next.
I think the added on books also give more growth for characters like Warner. And when looking at the characters' psyche over the series, it feels like a story of POTENTIAL SPOLIERS: how multiple teens who suffered parental abuse/trauma turn out differntly. SPOILER OVER (Starting the series before the pandemic & reading into lockdown also had an impact on me. I escaped into a worse world, even when things were bad.)
I read this series in like 9 days, it was so good and so shocking, a lot of things happened and the novellas are important to understand the characters, every character have different perspectives on what is happening, no book series will replace this incredible masterpiece the author gave us 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I’m reading restore me at the moment and in my opinion, you can tell tahereh mafi had no clue what to write, half the plots missing, the writing style changed out of no where and all together she should’ve just ended it at ignite me
shatter me is a total roller coaster of emotions but it was so cool and calm at the same time, i used to scream in my pillow and kick my legs when reading it...
