“Even if you’re an adult you should read YA” - Looooove this line! Some young adult books still can teach us some things and is also nice sometimes to have a break from very dense reading. Reading is supposed to be fun and YAs are great for this!

Really sucks that we enforce this idea that YA books are for mainly girls from, and mainly 14 to 18 because they can be so fun and even interesting or insightful for so many other people. Coming from a 23yo guy who reads plenty of YA but really hates the looks you get in the library or the bookstore :)

I read the original shatter me trilogy, absolutely loved it and then read the next three books in the series, I am yet to read the novellas and they are next on my tbr but I would read the 6 chronological then the novellas because you have all the attachments to the characters and will devour the novellas. Hope this helps as guidance!

I read the whole shatter me series and would say there’s no need to read the novellas. I absolutely LOVED this series and had so much fun reading it and loved the plot twist and the romance!

There are some scenes as well that we end up seeing from more than one POV bc of them. I rly just loved them and after destroy me I couldn’t stop. You can easily read them in one sitting i find

OMG I am so happy you liked the Shatter Me series (especially Ignite Me) because it was the first YA book series I read and I absolutely fell in love with the characters!! (Warner & Kenji have my heart). I would recommend reading the rest of the series especially if you want to see more of the world and the characters, my favourite out of the entire series will always be the 3rd one though! For reference though the order is: 1. Shatter Me 1.5. Destroy Me (novella from Warners pov - its really good I would recommend reading this a lot as I fell in love with him!) 2. Unravel Me 2.5. i would definitely read the rest of the shatter me series if you loved the characters. there’s a plot twist that is so good. for the novellas they go in between the books it’s not necessary to read them but if you want a bit of other characters povs. definitely read the last novella though believe me!
Ahh! I’ve been waiting for you to do a review on the summer I turned pretty series! it’s one of my favorites of all time. I love the romance/ fun lightheartedness blended with the more serious tones regarding coming of age and grief. You described it really well; the way you totally feel transported when you read the book. I WISH I could reread that series for the first time.
Don’t forget “THE HEIR” it’s apart of the selection series highly recommend its purple themed so looks really good on the shelf next to the other books lol!

For sure read the next three books in the Shatter Me series! The books really dive in Juliette's (and Warner's) backstory and it is JAW DROPPING. It's so so so good! I will say that I didn't rate any of the books higher than Ignite Me, but they are still so worth reading!!

Haley!! You should read “tokyo ever after” it’s a YA novel that’s basically the plot of princess diaries but make it asian (it’s set in Japan) and bodyguard enemies to lovers. It’s literally so fun and cute, I feel like you would love it

I highly recommend the novella Destroy Me! It takes place between Shatter Me and Unravel Me and is from Warner’s pov. It gives really interesting insight into his character!

I read the first three of shatter me and loved Ignite Me. I was super excited that Tahereh Mafi was writing more books for the series, bought the fourth book and couldn't even finish it. It reminded me a lot of Shatter Me where the author is setting up the plot for the next couple of books.
Maybe, with the “candies” you were talking about that characters take to fall asleep (time stamp 4:30) are in the Matched series by ally condie? I read matched and I feel like I remember them having certain medicines for different things and sleeping might’ve been one of them. But it’s been a while since I’ve read it so idk.

I love Jenny Han!! She is so under rated. Okay as for These Violent Delights I would very much recommend that you try and read it again. After about 200 pages it picks up and is SO SO SO AMAZING and also Chloe Gong’s writing is beautiful
I admit the Red queen series is slow, especially the 2nd book but trust me it gets better at the end from 2nd half of the 3rd book it's gotten so much better and I think the series is worth the patience pls continue with the series because I really want your thoughts on it :)

I read the summer I turned pretty series in one week because i loved it so much! This is coming from someone who’s never been a reader and has always told myself I don’t have enough time to read. I started it because i saw the trailer for the show on May 5th and thought I’d give the series a shot, and i was not disappointed!! My favorite part about it was that it didn’t feel like a love triangle to me, it just truly felt like it was Belly’s life. And i liked that there was so much devastation and emotion because that’s what really does it for me in movies, tv shows, and apparently books! The more they make me feel, the more I enjoy them!
I love warner so much omg. It’s restore me, defy me, imagine me, then believe me is the novella at the end. And then there’s the other little novellas but I don’t know exactly which ones. PLEASE FINISH THE SERIES

The first movie was pretty good, the second movie was abysmal HAHA, to me anyway. So yeah, I could NOT bring myself to watch the third movie. AMAZING series, beware of the movies, in my opinion. The selection series and the shatter me series have been at the top of my TBR for so long, I'm so hyped to read them. If only there was a YA Christian romance series, I would EAT THAT UP 😭. I absolutely love the Shatter Me, Selection, and Summer I Turned Pretty series!! And Alex Approximately was really cute and fun too! For Shatter Me , I'd definitely recommend the last books (Restore Me, Defy Me & Imagine Me. Defy Me might be my fave of that set, but dang the twists are insane. You get Warner's and Kenji's povs as well, I adore them! I think Warner's novellas 1.5 (Destroy Me) & 6.5 (Believe Me) are worth it! Kenji's novellas (Shadow Me - 4.5 and Reveal Me - 5.5) are also good! Can't wait for The Summer I Turned Pretty show (and the Selection movie, whenever it starts casting)! P.s I recommend Morgan Matson (especially Amy and Roger's Epic Detour & Since You've Been Gone), and Kasie West (esp. On The Fence, The Fill-In Boyfriend) for summery YA contemporaries with romance.
OKAY SO THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS...it is slow...I think that's the problem, It was one of the most amazing books I read yet I had to give it four stars because it was slow and yeah it takes them over 200 pages to start working together...but I think you should give it another go some other time and try to connect to the characters again, even if not soon, just one day...CUZ THE ENDING OF THAT BOOK>>>> well shocked me, broke me and just made me want to start the next one right away. So yeah I guess try again if you feel like you are in a right mindset and if you want to see a little more cuz yeah the second half of the book is definitely much better than the first and...I love Roma too much not to make you keep on reading haha. But it's your choice of course, read if you feel like it and don't if you don't 💕

If you like YA Romance and enjoyed a book describing one day only, I highly recommend „The Sun Is Also A Star“ by Nicola Yoon which made me smile and happy and then burst into tears of sadness and joy. The Shatter Me series is SOOO GOOD and it gets even more crazier I love it sm, after Ignite Me it's Restore Me then Defy Me, and Imagine Me that's the main books but you should definitely read the novellas!

OMG I am so happy you liked the Shatter Me series (especially Ignite Me) because it was the first YA book series I read and I absolutely fell in love with the characters!! (Warner & Kenji have my heart). I would recommend reading the rest of the series especially if you want to see more of the world and the characters, my favourite out of the entire series will always be the 3rd one though!
For reference though the order is:
1. Shatter Me
1.5. Destroy Me (novella from Warners pov - its really good I would recommend reading this a lot as I fell in love with him!)
2. Unravel Me
2.5. Fracture Me (novella from Adam's pov)
3. Ignite Me
4. Restore Me
4.5. Shadow Me (novella from Kenji's pov)
5. Defy Me
5.5. Reveal Me (novella from Kenji's pov)
6. Imagine Me
6.5. Believe Me (novella from Warner's pov - which just came out in November 2021!)

i would definitely read the rest of the shatter me series if you loved the characters. there’s a plot twist that is so good. for the novellas they go in between the books it’s not necessary to read them but if you want a bit of other characters povs. definitely read the last novella though believe me!

Ahh! I’ve been waiting for you to do a review on the summer I turned pretty series! it’s one of my favorites of all time. I love the romance/ fun lightheartedness blended with the more serious tones regarding coming of age and grief. You described it really well; the way you totally feel transported when you read the book. I WISH I could reread that series for the first time.

I feel like you would love the delirium trilogy, I can’t remember exactly what it’s about but I LOVED it in middle school and it kinda reminds me of the books in this video! I think it’s like YA dystopian romance
For sure read the next three books in the Shatter Me series! The books really dive in Juliette's (and Warner's) backstory and it is JAW DROPPING. It's so so so good! I will say that I didn't rate any of the books higher than Ignite Me, but they are still so worth reading!!

oh my god shatter me series was my first series to read and they were amazing, you NEED to read restore me, ignite me and restore me were my favourite book during this series, i was so emotinal while reading restore me but it was the best experience of my life xx

Haley!! You should read “tokyo ever after” it’s a YA novel that’s basically the plot of princess diaries but make it asian (it’s set in Japan) and bodyguard enemies to lovers. It’s literally so fun and cute, I feel like you would love it
I read the ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ series so fast! And the movies are equally as good. I’d love to see a vlog where you read that series and then watched the movies and reviewed everything at the end!

I highly recommend the novella Destroy Me! It takes place between Shatter Me and Unravel Me and is from Warner’s pov. It gives really interesting insight into his character!

I really enjoyed Red Queen but I didn’t like Glass Sword and King’s Cage as much. I was struggling to finish King’s Cage. I haven’t read War Storm yet but I’m not super excited about it

I read the first three of shatter me and loved Ignite Me. I was super excited that Tahereh Mafi was writing more books for the series, bought the fourth book and couldn't even finish it. It reminded me a lot of Shatter Me where the author is setting up the plot for the next couple of books.
Maybe, with the “candies” you were talking about that characters take to fall asleep (time stamp 4:30) are in the Matched series by ally condie? I read matched and I feel like I remember them having certain medicines for different things and sleeping might’ve been one of them. But it’s been a while since I’ve read it so idk.
Ugh the Selection Series is indeed SO nostalgic. I read it multiple multiple times in middle school. And I don’t need to reread it like, ever. Because I’ve read it so many times. And every time I go into a book store, I have to decide if I should buy the series. I always say no

I love Jenny Han!! She is so under rated. I prefer the To All the Boys series tbh (which I am re-reading atm hehe) because I feel like her writing style kinda developed idk I was just more immersed in that series than the Summer I turned pretty. The Summer I turned pretty series is more realistic I feel like, but Lara Jean in To All the Boys I find is more relatable! :)

i almost didn't finish reading 'these violent delights' because of a similar reason, but i gotta say you should finish it! the latter part gets better. i also like its take on the enemies-to-lovers trope SOOO

Okay as for These Violent Delights I would very much recommend that you try and read it again. After about 200 pages it picks up and is SO SO SO AMAZING and also Chloe Gong’s writing is beautiful
I admit the Red queen series is slow, especially the 2nd book but trust me it gets better at the end from 2nd half of the 3rd book it's gotten so much better and I think the series is worth the patience pls continue with the series because I really want your thoughts on it :)

The Red Queen is actually a distopien book series because in the broken throne it shows a map and it is America in the future
read all the main books (restore me, defy me and imagine me) and then read the novellas because that is what i did and i felt the connection to the characters so much more!!!
Really recommend reading the seven sisters, at the moment I am reading the fourth book. Every book is about another sister with each their own love story, finding their birth parents and where they originally come from. Please try it out! I am very curious about your opion on these books!!

I read the summer I turned pretty series in one week because i loved it so much! This is coming from someone who’s never been a reader and has always told myself I don’t have enough time to read. I started it because i saw the trailer for the show on May 5th and thought I’d give the series a shot, and i was not disappointed!! My favorite part about it was that it didn’t feel like a love triangle to me, it just truly felt like it was Belly’s life. And i liked that there was so much devastation and emotion because that’s what really does it for me in movies, tv shows, and apparently books! The more they make me feel, the more I enjoy them!

I read the summer I turned pretty series yearsss ago and I'm re-reading it because it's getting turned into a show too!! It's also just amazing. I'm also in such a YA mood rn too, I like to forget that I'm an adult, and they're honestly so much more fun to read. I read to all the boys I've loved before series before the summer I turned pretty and it's so good, I def need to re-read that series too, but k. The first movie was pretty good, the second movie was abysmal HAHA, to me anyway. So yeah, I could NOT bring myself to watch the third movie. AMAZING series, beware of the movies, in my opinion. The selection series and the shatter me series have been at the top of my TBR for so long, I'm so hyped to read them. If only there was a YA Christian romance series, I would EAT THAT UP 😭. Anyway, your vids are my absolute favs, LOVE YOU HALEY🤍🤍

I absolutely love the Shatter Me, Selection, and Summer I Turned Pretty series!! And Alex Approximately was really cute and fun too! For Shatter Me , I'd definitely recommend the last books (Restore Me, Defy Me & Imagine Me. Defy Me might be my fave of that set, but dang the twists are insane. You get Warner's and Kenji's povs as well, I adore them! I think Warner's novellas 1.5 (Destroy Me) & 6.5 (Believe Me) are worth it! Kenji's novellas (Shadow Me - 4.5 and Reveal Me - 5.5) are also good!
Can't wait for The Summer I Turned Pretty show (and the Selection movie, whenever it starts casting)!
P.s I recommend Morgan Matson (especially Amy and Roger's Epic Detour & Since You've Been Gone), and Kasie West (esp. On The Fence, The Fill-In Boyfriend) for summery YA contemporaries with romance.

OKAY SO THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS...it is slow...I think that's the problem, It was one of the most amazing books I read yet I had to give it four stars because it was slow and yeah it takes them over 200 pages to start working together...but I think you should give it another go some other time and try to connect to the characters again, even if not soon, just one day...CUZ THE ENDING OF THAT BOOK>>>> well shocked me, broke me and just made me want to start the next one right away. So yeah I guess try again if you feel like you are in a right mindset and if you want to see a little more cuz yeah the second half of the book is definitely much better than the first and...I love Roma too much not to make you keep on reading haha. But it's your choice of course, read if you feel like it and don't if you don't 💕

I literally almost bought These Violent Delights today, however I have heard mixed Love/Hate reviews about it.
Also, I am 32 and I still prefer YA over Adult fiction.

HALEY!! U HAVE to read Love&Olives. I liked it even more than love&gelato, it is such a fun read and the characters are adorable and the plot is SO GOOD and not predictable. Its over 500 pages and I read it in one sitting, which I NEVER do. 5 stars from me. the perfect YA summer romance.

YAAAAY!! I‘ve been waiting for this vid all night, thank you!! If you like YA Romance and enjoyed a book describing one day only, I highly recommend „The Sun Is Also A Star“ by Nicola Yoon which made me smile and happy and then burst into tears of sadness and joy. It’s amazing and was also turned into a semi-good movie :)

i recommended the matched series! sooo good! it’s dystopian setting, there’s love triangles, rebellions against the government, it’s a really good trilogy
I also loved The summer I Tuned Pretty but To All The Boys Ive Lived Before was even better!!!! The main character is half Asian like me and I related to her soooooo much! It's my favorite YA romance of all time and I could reread them again and again. I also loved the movies so much so you should definitely check them out after reading the books!
