Quick Note: The thumbnail has been changed.
Shoutout to the extremely talented Gael for making this banging art!
I wondered why this popped up on my feed! also wondered why the art looked different. Hell yeah!
Some of the best Ray content is just hearing Tina losing her shit in the background over something that happened
Tina is the best
tina is the channel's hard carry, let's be honest here
The dirty little toad bits killed me
Super Mario Sunshine may be a mixed bag
But y'all can't deny how beautiful and aesthetically pleasing this game is
So glad Ray got to play this
And the chucksters man. Gives me PTSD
I love the music and art style of the game and have loved it since I was a kid, but that plinko level was made by someone who hates kids...or physics
@@Singe41 a game can be beautiful and aesthetically pleasing at the same time as another game in a franchise. it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive.
@@Singe41 you're allowed to like one game more than another (or like an aspect of one more than the same aspect of another), but it doesn't change my point that more than one game can be beautiful at the same time
@@Singe41 nah, it sucks. easily one of the worst Mario games.
Ray's constant sigh when he sees the platforming levels is incredible 😂
Sunshine is either your favorite Mario game or your least favorite Mario no inbetween. But this "port, emulation, whatever you wanna call it" of this certainly didn't help having both the switch buttons & GameCube buttons in the prompts just to name a few.
I speedran this game for like 2 years and not once have I ever noticed her earrings become her eyes wtf
I loved how you could see Ray's soul leave his body every time he had to do a FLUDD-less level lol
Oh man the watermelon bit killed me I remember struggling with that forever as a kid
This game has the most jank from the other Mario games. It’s one of my favorites, but the movement kills me sometimes especially the coom Mario levels without fluud
At 40:50 you can witness a live viewing of anyone who has ever dealt with that puzzle ever in the history of sunshine
36:45 Ray "end my existence" proceeds to jump into the abyss. Fav part of it all
My god has it already been like a year and a half since he played this? Time is a ⭕️
@@SURESH0T9292 It's a quote from Nietzsche's "The Gay Science"
The honk of shame. Those cum Mario levels were the bane of my existence as a kid. But still… great game
Tina laughing in the background is the best thing ever. I love her reactions right in the room
I love how Tina has 2 laughter modes: tee-hee and goose
This video is so funny, I shall show my support by hitting the B U T T O N
Ray mocked Pachinko Peril and it said “bet.”
Ray’s absolute disappointment going into the levels without FLUDD gave me life 😂
2:35 against my better judgement, I checked. Yes, Ray. Yes there is R34 of FLUDD.
o7 hero
You poor soul...
"Here comes the Jackson 5"
Good to know I'm not alone in either expecting that or the Rocky theme.
50:31 I...don't even know how Ray did that. I was pretty sure the whole thing was surrounded by a glass wall but I guess not the back
2:36 I just checked. . . . YUP!
The big watermelon mission broke me when I was a kid 😭
New thumbnail hype!! Awesome Gael!
lol what's the sub goal for Ray to play the lilipad level.
love the moment Ray realized it was a flip puzzle lol.
remastered game btw.
As a kid, I hated this game. As an adult? I hate this game.
26:30
I personally hate this game, but Ray gave me lots of laughs with this playthrough so his suffering was worth seeing.
34:00
46:10 fair enough
Sunshine is great, and that thumbnail by Gael is equally as great
Super Mario Sunshine is pretty solid, having replayed it recently because of this collection BUT god damnit 😤 some level's are infuriating
I also didn't encounter all these bugs 🤔 which is interesting
Another great highlight video lol 👌
Ray is my metaphorical daddy.
The part where he told bowser jr. To put his mask back on to not get COVID and then he went to corona mountain cracked me up
I forgot how bad Ray was at platformers.
Mario Sunshine just controls like shit
I felt all those deaths in the secret stages were so painful because I experienced it too lmao.
This game is very well designed.
All kinds of damage to the island, and Mario's fuckin lawyer couldn't simply show that he had just arrived and all this shit had happened before lmao.
Also, I don't even need to look it up, there's 100% a R34 picture of Mario fucking FLUDD's nozzle.
I keep telling myself that sunshine is amazing and a great mario game. But it might be the nostalgia speaking...
This is such a relief to see. As a kid, even though I loved this game, I was fucking infuriated with it as well. There was just so much bullshit but I chalked it up to just me being a kid. So seeing Ray, a god gamer, feel the same bullshit feels like my anger was justified
This was the only video game I had for a whole year as a kid. I played every single level a million times lol
You NEVER played this before?!? My boy, oh my sweet boy 😭
The timing of this video and Ray's speedrunning comments on Corona Mountain are impeccable.
There was a speedrunner that got a game over an 1hr-ish into his run and had to start over, so yah, fun times with sunshine lol
To answer your question ray yes there is rule 34 of flood. God I wish I could I see that.
The platforming levels 😮💨
Tina's laugh in the background giving me life
Hey weird question. What’s the little chair icon with a number and the counter in the little red box around rays face cam?
chair icon is subs I beleive, timer is time on the subtrain
@@felinefatale9336 You're right about the sub count. But it's a streak. The number resets back to 0 if the timer runs out.
Love this game so much
Throwback to when I was quarantined and had nothing else to do but watch Ray's streams
"Cuma-mia!"
-Cum Mario, 2020
I'm glad you made the most of your experience Ray 👍🏽
I'm apart of the "Mixed bag" crew because I personally can't stand this game.
Back during the Game Cube era I played Luigi's Mansion and Metriod Prime first, so in terms of graphics Sunshine didn't impress me.
The game play was disorienting and frustrating. The camera feels like it's always working against you and very rarely in your favour. The physics felt awkward in the sense that it didn't quite obey physics, Mario's movement felt slippery as all hell, not to mention the weird thing this game does where when he doesn't have Flood and his controls get.... somehow worse?
The Flood mechanics were sort of interesting since that was the game's whole gimic since it was made to push an clean the environment addenda (Albeit a rushed game) but it generally felt for me to be two things:
-Repetitive.
&
-Oddly underused.
I was over the who water thing in a matter of hours of playing with my interests dwindling with each shine collected. But then my interests peaked when i got the other attachments before slowly dwindling away at the thought that they felt grossly underutilised. I thought it to be a missed opportunity since there's literally less than a handful of times the attachments are useful, since their appearance in game is only for very specific situations they're easily forgettable.
The level design was on theme which as expected is cool, but there isn't a whole lot to them so they're also nothing to write home about. Especially the super Mario platforming segments in the Floodless dimension, since base platforming in this game is so awkward especially since Mario doesn't obey physics correctly without flood.
....
I could keep going but this is a long enough rant about Sunshine as it is, and anyone passing by will stop reading the second i said "I can't stand this game." So long story short with nostalgia goggles on i guess i can see why people love it. Me personally; My experience years ago was... lukewarm (I found it boring and unintuitive.) And now almost two decades later.... unlike Luigi's Mansion this game aged like expired warm milk ( it's curdled pretty badly because the Switch port is.... somehow worse.)
I loved this game.
Wtf I never noticed the og Mario games in the bottom left corner of the tutorial and I’ve beaten this game like 20 times XD
Give me the sunshine

Oh! I can't wait to watch this later!
Super Mario SusShine
Some people praise this game but it's wonky, bugged, and rushed as shit. It got rushed out by Nintendo to not only fill in a need for a big Summer Release but couldn't be delayed anyway because doing so would have put it in direct competition for Wind Waker later that year. Even IF it got delayed to be tighter up and patched up, a lot of the actual mechanics and gameplay is terrible.
It's definitely rushed to the point of having multiple cut levels, but the core gameplay is generally good which is usually the core of why it gets praise. That and the generally good level design.
Like obviously the handful of gimmick missions are an issue, but this is the best Mario's controlled in a 3D game (until Odyssey anyway.)
Frankly the game isn't even especially buggy either, so that aspect is certainly overblown.
