That’s platformers 101 man. They’re designed to just piss you off to no end. I still have NEVER beaten the original crash bandicoot because I just don’t have the patience for it, that game is absolutely infuriating with the last like 6 or so levels it’s just so brutal.
Geoff was right. No one is funnier when they’re mad than Ray.

ray highlights are always fun
Crash 1 in this trilogy was very intense because the collision boxes are different that the original, but the layout and distances are the same. The Platinum relics are a whole other hell too.

@@JohnMBlue1992 my basic understanding is that when they remade this trilogy, they updated all the hit boxes, and detection for them... except for Crash's hit box in the first game. His hit box is oval shaped instead of square. So making jumps and landing them is a lot harder especially with the sliding off the platforms.
The funniest ones to me are always when he just walks off, does, and starts laughing at himself. I've started my playthrough of Crash and that is exactly what my experience has been so far
This was almost Minecraft Monopoly levels of despair.
I'm simultaneously happy and sad he didn't have to do Dark Monopoly. Happy cause I don't want Ray to kill everyone in that office, and sad because the content would have been top tier

My favourite thing about Ray playing this game was him doing something unintentional towards completion when he played for the first run through, and then completely missed it going for 100% lol.

Mixer no longer is a thing. It went belly up a couple years ago.
Any jumps ray makes where it looks like he's stood on nothing or lands on nothing he's experiencing something game devs include called 'coyote time' which is half a second where you float and can jump, it's called coyote time in reference to the coyote in road runner
There are some definitive things about the Crash remasters that could have been done better, but watching this highlights reel and seeing Ray call it a garbage game while I'm replaying Jak 2 hilarious to me. Nostalgia really tried to make me think that Jak 2 was a good game and reality has revised that belief.

33:09 that's brutal, not even Naughty Dog was that cruel; for one they never had time trials in any of the Crash games before Crash 3, but in the Crash 3 animal riding levels they at least freeze the timer the second you reach the other side of the jump.

I'd love to see him play the original Rayman (preferably Rayman Forever, due to the extra levels). It's my favorite platformer ever.

33:11 Say what you will about Naughty Dog but at least when they implemented time trials into Crash 3 they made sure to freeze the clock whenever you reached the big jump at the end of the animal riding level. Vivendi on the other hand...not so much.
EDIT: ok, so right as I tapped the send button my brain decided to remind me that Vivendi did actually implement the clock freeze feature in Crash 3, it was only Crash 2 and 1 they decided not to bother.

This was 95% remaster, though very few differences. It's also irrelevant
@@jbfarley What. It's literally a remake. A remaster is just taking the existing game and trying to do the best with the existing software to update it to a modern experience. A remake is making the game again from the ground up, which is what Toys for Bob did with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. It's the reason why Crash 1 in this remake is harder than it was back on the original (They chose to stick with the Crash character hitbox from 3, which are rounded rather than the square of Crash 1's)
It's not 95% remaster, though. Remasters are where they just up the graphics and make minor changes. A remaster is essentially a port.
A remake is literally remaking the game from the ground up without using the original game's code, engine, or anything. It's not a port.
Referring to my original comment, I did say it was a tiny pet peeve, so it's a moot point, but there really is a difference between a remastered game and a game remake. Mario 3D World for the Switch and Yakuza HD Collection are remasters. Crash N.Sanity Trilogy, Yakuza Kiwami/Kiwami 2, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, etc. are remakes.
