Oh wow today we got to see the range of Ray’s emotional response when it comes to playing Pokémon. Just the jovial chillness of BD/SP, to the defeated despair of losing to rival only to face the elite four all over again, to the pure pog-champ of dugtrio’s legendary sweep. Holy shit, totally the best comp choice to complement todays stream. So well done!

At one point I would stop watching the actual battles and would fast forward to him getting his teams
This game is just proof they wanted the AI to cheat like hell in Gen 1 but only had enough power in the game boy to make it look for super effective options late game.
straight up cheating, both players have to lock in their plan before the game starts, AI can definitely change it's mind depending on what the player does, the sets are so ass too.

So some math for you, Lapras had 5 first turn wakes back to back. In Pokémon stadium, they stay asleep for 1-3 turns. 33% chance to wake on first turn. To have done that for ALL FIVE IN A ROW, they would’ve needed to hit a 1/243 chance.
But if you ask Gavin, it’s 50/50

I was diagnosed with stage 4 pain just from watching this.
I know he is the best and my favorite streamer simply by his way of yelling "WE DID IT!" Instead of "I DID IT!" At the end. Mad respect for his followers and subs with such a simple phrase. Keep going strong Ray!

There were no STAB Dragon moves in Gen 1: the only damage dealing dragon move was Dragon Rage, which specifically only ever did a flat 40 hit points of damage.
