Great reaction !! I am listening to music for almost 50 years, and in the past 20 I haven't seen a band like this - so I am 100% agreeing with you that this band is here to stay for the next decade. One song alone is not enough to judge this, but all other songs have the same highest quality. Their song writing ability is superior to many of the acclaimed stars, their sound very relatable, their chemistry, their aesthetics, their relentless beat, this quintessential voice, their stage presence. The exude more energy than most other bands or artists, and finally they can rap, and they can sing in Italian. The only drawback is that after being taken by surprise I am addicted now, struggling to get my work done :-)
The Italians invading the reaction videos is becoming a social phenomenon in itself. I love how you listen to full parts of the songs before reacting, that allows you to take it in and still share your observations while they're fresh. Regarding Maneskin, they did a Europe tour a couple of years ago, but they were pretty much unknown in the US and still quite local throughout the lockdown, so you couldn't help but miss out. And they're still very young. They started busking when they were 15-17 and a bit over a year later they participated in Italian X Factor and were launched to fame. Then this year they won the national festival that led them to Eurovision. They've released one EP and two albums till now. The first album is a little green, but you might find many interesting points of discussion. It contains an ongoing concept, "Marlena", who represents their music, a Muse, or themselves as artists if you will. Once you know this, the lyrics become much clearer. Their second album was released a couple of months ago. It's more aggressive, in a way, but also more mature and I personally find all tracks very interesting (just 6 total). There's also another song in English, For your love. Dereck, you are right. Maneskin is here to stay. I am a 61 year old woman and feel blessed to have grown up in the 60/70/80ies because of the great music back then. I thought that everything in music had been done already, but I was wrong. Maneskin is great, I can't get enough of them. They will be as famous as the Rolling Stones and Queen.

I feel like you should check out one of the more ballad songs next to show their range. Vent'anni is my favourite (but with all of them definitely look up the lyric translations as well because they will blow you away) but Torna a Casa is another great one. I love the depth of thought that goes into their lyrics, instrumentation, aesthetics, videos. It feels like they're really trying to produce art with every record. I am loving having them in my life right now.

Each of their songs is really different. I’m not sure I can pick any two I’ve heard so far that I could put together! Their new album Teatro d’Ira vol 1 is just amazing, from start to finish - haven’t loved an album like this or felt this way about a band since I first heard Arctic Monkeys. Every single song is strong and can stand alone. (I already know what my end of year review on Spotify is going to look like!) I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to read the translation of the lyrics in the Italian songs though - Damiano’s lyric writing matches up to his singing ability and I know that’s saying something! From the first album, Moriro da re and Torna a casa are both great. Again, the lyrics, damn the man can write. Important to know that the Marlena in these songs is the band’s muse and personification of creativity, inspiration and self-expression. If I had to narrow it down in terms of what to listen to next, I’d say Coraline if you want more of a rock ballad and for your heart to be broken, Il Nome del Padre if you want more Rage against the Machine, f**k all the haters vibes or For Your Love if you want to continue down the path of their very sexy songs in English (good luck to them making a radio edit for that one 😂)

Adesso, pero', mi piacerebbe sapere la differenza che c'e' tra DEI e ATEI visto che questi 4 ragazzi arrivano dal nulla (fino al 2017) e in meno di 4 anni hanno vinto SANREMO e L'ESC. Non solo. Fino ad oggi hanno creato un ventina di canzoni (cantate molte di piu') e , praticamente, sono tutti successi (basta informarsi un po' per capirlo). In particolare l'ultimo album viene definito capolavoro da persone che fino al 22 maggio non sapevano della loro esistenza! In meno di 15 giorni il mondo è impazzito per i maneskin. In molte nazioni sono nella top 10 con 2 canzoni ('zitti e buoni','i wanna be your slave') . Sono nella top 20 inglese con una canzone ITALIANA (l'ultima pavarotti negli anni 90). Miley Cyrus (non pizza è fichi) è diventata una loro 'fan' e li ha contattati (pare) anche telefonicamente. In ogni caso, Damiano (aiutato nei testi anche da Vic) ha una creativita' fuori dal comune e conosce l'inglese praticamente da quando è nato (papa' e mamma sono assistenti di volo), diciamo che è quasi un madrelingua.. Bene, scommetto che le prossime canzoni in inglese , che verranno create dalla band, avranno tante frasi 'musicali' (in italiano è piu' facile) e non i soliti ritornelli con 7/8 frasi ripetute per l'intera canzone. E questo fara' impazzire ancora di piu' il mondo perchè non è abituato a canzoni con tante frasi in rima e soprattutto deep. Adesso, ti ripeto la domanda iniziale: che differenza c'e' tra DEI e ATEI?

Please listen to all the 8 tracks (now 6 for You) of their last (and second) album "Teatro d'Ira: Vol 1" (Theater of wrath). No filler, many of them are masterpieces specially for the powerfull lyrics. You can easily find the italian ones with english translation (not allways perfect!)

Alef, trovo interessante il tuo commento perchè tra un mare di amatori ogni tanto qualche odiatore ci vuole. Adesso, pero', mi piacerebbe sapere la differenza che c'e' tra DEI e ATEI visto che questi 4 ragazzi arrivano dal nulla (fino al 2017) e in meno di 4 anni hanno vinto SANREMO e L'ESC. Non solo. Fino ad oggi hanno creato un ventina di canzoni (cantate molte di piu') e , praticamente, sono tutti successi (basta informarsi un po' per capirlo). In particolare l'ultimo album viene definito capolavoro da persone che fino al 22 maggio non sapevano della loro esistenza! In meno di 15 giorni il mondo è impazzito per i maneskin. In molte nazioni sono nella top 10 con 2 canzoni ('zitti e buoni','i wanna be your slave') . Sono nella top 20 inglese con una canzone ITALIANA (l'ultima pavarotti negli anni 90). Miley Cyrus (non pizza è fichi) è diventata una loro 'fan' e li ha contattati (pare) anche telefonicamente.
In ogni caso, Damiano (aiutato nei testi anche da Vic) ha una creativita' fuori dal comune e conosce l'inglese praticamente da quando è nato (papa' e mamma sono assistenti di volo), diciamo che è quasi un madrelingua.. Bene, scommetto che le prossime canzoni in inglese , che verranno create dalla band, avranno tante frasi 'musicali' (in italiano è piu' facile) e non i soliti ritornelli con 7/8 frasi ripetute per l'intera canzone. E questo fara' impazzire ancora di piu' il mondo perchè non è abituato a canzoni con tante frasi in rima e soprattutto deep.
Adesso, ti ripeto la domanda iniziale: che differenza c'e' tra DEI e ATEI?
@@65alef Non è mica un problema se ti piacciono o meno il problema è la parola DEI o ATEI da dove è iniziata la discussione. DEI sono coloro che riescono a variare genere ed essere sempre al top ATEI sono coloro che fanno sempre lo stesso genere con quattro parole e quattro urletti qua e la' suonando, per fortuna, bene. Per quanto riguarda "mi sa che sei giovane" ti faccio presente che ,durante le mie vacanze estive, frequentavo spesso la baia degli angeli di gabicce. Mi sa che di musica ne ho masticata piu' io di te.
@@65alef no, ti sbagli, da quella.. sempre alla larga. Cmq, ho ascoltato 2 o 3 "canzoni" dei tuoi eroi.. non male come testi.. "metalla la la la" dio cristo mi avessi parlato degli AC/DC , Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden e altri 100 gruppi (anche italiani) ma questi qua fanno solo casino! La musica è un'altra cosa. Ciaone
@Alef Cioe' tu rosichi per tutte le reactions positive sui maneskin, poi vedi un video di uno che ti sembra un metallaro e pensi "vedrai che questo qui li sega in 2" e invece rimani di merda perche' il tipo li esalta all'ennesima potenza e ti sfoghi andando a commentare 'spruzzando' la tua frustrazione e poi per farti bello, per far vedere che tu ascolti la musica quella giusta, quella anti-sistema chi mi citi? Un gruppo che non conosce NESSUNO. Altro che 100. Ce ne saranno 100.000 meglio

Mate we grew up in the 80s nothing but bands then we went through solo singers BRING BACK THE BANDS … I love these guys they are fabulous .. Bring back bands so you can go to a concert where there are 100 thousand people in the audience… I saw The Rolling Stones in 1995 amazing we need bands BACK …I’ve seen bands that are amazing…..
