I always wonder how in the world do people get ice rinks when there's no one around, my ice rink is always crowded

by going to an ice rink early in the morning, at night or during school hours on weekdays :,) when I go ice skating, usually there are no other people or 1-2 skaters with their coaches there.
and of course, the city where my rink is, is quite small
It kind of depends on where you live and wheter ice skating is a popular sport in your country or not

I used to skate for 2-3 years. Then I got busy so I had to stop. I was REALLY close to learning ‘Jump and Spin’

It is a very expensive sport
Try researching your options to borrow equipment! My home town has a "sport library" where you can borrow all kinds of sport equipment. You could also throw out a Facebook post asking if anyone has some old skates laying around?
I feel you on this issue. My skates need new blades and laces, at the minimum. I quit some years ago and now as a student I could never afford the lessons. I do skate in my free time though!

- flutzing ur double in competition
- when ur blades clink together and u just UGH
- realizing in the air during ur flying camel that it's definitely not gonna work
- THE FACT THAT THERE ARE NO EMPTY SESSIONS EVER HOW DID SHE GET GOOD CLEAN ICE TO HERSELF

I stumbled across this video while searching for references on how to animate ice skating. It has served me well. Thank you.
As someone who's 6ft and fairly recently started skating, it was so interesting to hear that spins will probably be easier for me than jumps (so far, I've only done spins and one jump and the spins are proving difficult, but I'm sure it'll come with practice!!). I've always been told that it's going to be much harder for me to skate being taller! Loved this video, you make everything look so graceful, even falling 😂
Rosie yeah it all comes with practice :) but yeah when I was little I could jump and once I got taller it just got so bad lol

4:19 is me with my axel n double sal lmao. landed my axel once and double sal has yet to come. I fall so many times in one session i cant even count! but i love skating so i dont mind it, its what makes me happy.
