Sez Monsta yeah it’s impressive how Alex Brightman can give his voice that growl. He can do something with his vocal cords to where they vibrate and shake to give that growl. And it doesn’t damage his voice whatsoever.

Sez Monsta this is completely valid and I agree. Nobody can see how she’s truly using her voice but she just needs to have time to develop because she’s still young. She needs to mix more or open her mouth because that’s so damaging. I’ve been singing for about 14 years btw. Doing that will just damage her voice constantly.

2. it’s supposed to have a punk feel to it, which is modern and new to broadway which i think is great
3. even if u don’t like it, i’ve seen the show twice she doesn’t stress it that much in the actual show

Ive seen the production Live recently and Sophia was AMAZING. She didnt strain one bit specifically in this song. I think she is pushing on purpose and singing from adrenaline rather than training. She is amazing! She just needs to ~focus~

Second, just cause it's one picture on her instagram, theres an aesthetic and a lot of people that have pictures of them just for looks. She has professionals who helps with her voice so youd think they'd be pissed about that.

Guys she’s adding more punk aspects because there’s this thing called stage presence. On the actual show they have props, light, a decorated stage, but on this show it’s just her. She’s just making up for it. She knows what’s healthy for her.

Everyone talking about Sophia, I just want to say I've seen her twice and she never sounded like she was straining. She was doing 8 shows a week plus this and I think she may have been tired in some parts and did the best she could. Otherwise, both times I've seen her she never sounded like she was straining. Everyone worried she will ruin her voice, I think she will be ok. I think she just had an off day. But even her "off days" sound amazing. She is incredible and will blow you away if you see her live. Beetlejuice is a fantastic show and probably in a handful of broadway shows I've taken the opportunity to see twice.

All of these actors are trained to make their voices this way! It's a learning process to do this in a healthy way and then be criticized that its strained. This is an art form of expression they will sing they way they want
