Kumena is awesome one of my favorite decks. I just wish they would print a four color merfolk tribal legend. Obviously excluding red. Something that's a long the lines of kumena.
@@ClosedOpenness agreed, bant is easier and has more than enough to add to it, but hitting every color would be awesome. If we can't have UB Sygg then WU Sygg is still very good.

Heck or make it a half-merfolk (human merfolk on the card) legendary warrior born after the events of the first Ixalan as the two tribes team up against pirates and conquistadors! Bant humans would be fun for mixing the Innistrad humans with the UW human wizards flying about!

In one game of edh, i kicked rite of replication on murkfiend liege with a seedborn muse out as well. One guy decided death before dishonor and didnt concede.

I put cards in a box for a long time. I just traded one card for 24 merfolk so I hit “critical mass” and am making it based on what I’ve collected so far. I’ve been waiting so long to make it
If you want to be That Guy™️, add a Quicksilver Fountain to the deck. Now (usually) everyone has islands. You can even use your card own Return To Nature or Beast Within to subsequently remove it and lock those lands as Islands for the rest of the game.
My favourite combo with my deck revolves around grimoire thief and intruder alarm. Pair these two with a master of waves or kindred summons you can normally exile at least 1-3 decks in a turn with the untap triggers. Especially with the couple of clones in the deck. Drowner of secrets also does this as well.
I just won a crazy game last night with kumena, door of destiny and 2 cards that lower my cost my merfolk spells by 3 colorless mana … and the way I won is playing Triumph of the Hordes yes it was nasty 🤮
I'm about to build this with some key upgrades like Vedalken Orrery and Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait, and I'd put the upgraded version at about a 7 or an 8.

Literally took apart my Svelun deck to make it into Kumena last night, so this is perfectly timed

I actually think 3 colors is more than enough. Merfolk Bant, Elves Abzan, Vampire Mardu, Goblin Jund, and Cat Naya.

Bant merfolks or sultai merfolks would be sick we need a better commander though I love kumena since he's unique compared to other tribe commanders

You can't play Swiftfoot Boots in a Merfolk deck, because Merfolk don't have feet.

My version involves Isochron Sceptre, Dramatic Reversal, Sol Ring, and Drowner of Secrets. Also nice to combine with Wake Thrasher
