Some people hate tribal because it can feel underpowered sometimes when you’re playing it yourself for example the ur dragon is a really expensive card in most of my casual commander battles it just feels to slow to play anything usefull cause all the dragons are just to expensive even with the 1 mana reduction (it also is mainly cause some people have different experiences with certain decks)
P.S. i think that most tribal decks that are decently tuned to each other are very powerfully but ones that are made without a specific purpose wont be as strong as deck with with one
Double P.S. i know this is general but i just wanted to point this out 😅

This is just my opinion, but:
-Sauron, Ur-Dragon, and Miirym are A tier imo.
Sauron is not only great colors for reanimator, but also makes a token that's great for sacrifice effects and probably one the craziest ward ability to protect him.
The Ur-Dragon is a lot of mana, but just by being your commander, it discounts any and all of your dragons. Dragons are very well supported and being able to choose the best ones at a permanent discount is quite strong. It's only held back because of the double-edged sword of being a WUBRG commander.
Miirym doesn't have as much to work with, but is similarly strong due to being able to double the value of any dragon you play and having ward is a significant factor. It might actually be B tier, but it competes with Ur Dragon often, so I'd just put them together.
-Pantlaza, Zhulodok, Kaalia, and Mothman are B tier imo.
Pantlaza is pretty good at ramping into other combo pieces, ramp, or into your important dinosaurs. Similar to the Ur-Dragon, Pantlaza is great because Dinosaurs are a strong and well supported tribe, so its quite easy to swing things in your favor.
Zhulodok does have the disadvantage of being colorless... but colorless is actually really easy to ramp, and that's exactly what he wants you to do. Don't underestimate Cascade.
Kaalia being able to cheat in the best of the main big creatures in each of her colors is stupid good. The main thing holding her back, though, is that everyone knows this, and she needs a lot of help to stay on the board.
Mothman is probably a little biased on my part, but I cannot stress enough how often I've seen players underestimate rad counters. And how often players think this commander sucks because they built it as a "win through mill" deck but forget to include payoffs like sidisi. It's also the best mill colors imo.

With the everything counters and tron lands it's SUPER easy to get your mana pool set up, and with the mana reflection enchantment that's also in the precon you're tapping them for 6 colorless. Kaalia specifically states "attacking that opponent" meaning the new creature must attack her target and can't be split off to attack something else. It is a niche thing because generally you swing everything at a single target but it could make a difference if you were going to overkill a Planeswalker and wanted your new creature to swing at the player this would stop you from doing that.

In terms of casual edh those commanders listed might be the topnotch but then again it does not evaluate things like budget requirements (Ur-Dragon) or available pieces of synergy (Kadena was horroable 2019 but does now see more and more play in competitive edh).

pantlaza in c is wild, dinos is an already powerful tribal filled with cheating out dinos for free. pantlaza allows you to double your value and even search out specific cards depending on how the deck is build, its fairly common to scum out a creature with 10 toughness and immediately discover into gishath or some other large dino, this plus everything having trample makes pantlaza pretty powerful. the only limitation is once per turn and that hes a 5 drop, but i would definitely not put him below kalia or even kiriko.

  • @the22dragons
    @the22dragons 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I think you are largely underestimating Satya and Omo... Satya is basically a Miirym that works for every creature type (including dragons) and costs less (and that can make mutiple copies of the same creature over different turns, making some creatures snowball pretty easily). You can also abuse "leaves the battlefield" or "gets killed" triggers by just not paying the cost at the end, and you almost always have enough energy to keep copies if you play it right.
Also, Omo shenigans give you massive mana advantage and other type combos make it very strong.

As a pantlaza player, with a deck full of huge and impactful dinos, as well as a very heavy ramp package that allows for multiple heavy spells a turn, Id pick pantlaza over gishath any day because it racks me up much more value in the long run on top of making my choices more versatile with being allowed to put a spell I don't wish to cast in that moment to my hand. You're more likely to wiff off of gishath then you ever will with pantlaza.

I dont know man. Satya is vastly under-rated in my personal experience. It does so many things, and it can always does the thing it needs. That commander summons the Heart of The Cards Yu-Gi-Oh style on me like every single time.
I play my $400 Anje Falkenrath against it, with Worldgorger in the graveyard, 3 win cons in hand, and just searching for that last Animator piece, guess what Satya does? ON TURN 4, goes infinite. THE PRECON GOES INFINITE. Man, I wish I remembered the combo my fiance used on me. I play my 600 buck Krenko against it? Guess what it does? That Roc card taps Krenko before i can activate it.
That deck sucks, and im traumatized. Its the best out of the bundle. Izzet is it. Its a monster. And it keeps things it copies so easily. It literally does everything. It has dat energy definitely.
My Eldrazi's may stand a chance, eventually after upgrading, but ive only won once with it stock. Omo is a beast too. But i feel like its more "HIT ME WITH THAT SPELL, DADDY", than the Satya deck. Cause Satya is so synergistic it's hard to find the actual thing to destroy thats gonna be the most beneficial. It does (actually) everything better than Omo can give "everything" counters to stuff.
    I think shes cheating...

You put Mothman on C tier and Korvold in S tier when they do the same exact thing besides allowing you to draw cards. Instead of drawing cards you can just make your opponents mill and make MULTIPLE creatures stronger. Not to mention the mana you need to bring Korvold out. Not to mention the more rad counters you have, you can potentially heal yourself while your opponents lose health with each creature mill. This is definitely bias or you haven't played Mothman.

I have some (hopefully) constructive criticism. I notice when you read the commander's text, you rush through it as fast as you can talk, as if you're thinking "I know this is boring and you don't wanna hear me read this, audience; lemme just read it fast so the new guys can get it." Well, I'm a new guy. I don't know what most of these commander's text is. I wanna hear it, that's part of the informational value of the video - in order to understand these commanders, I have to understand what they do, and reading cards is part of the game. Here's my main problem - when you read fast, you almost completely stop enunciating. You mumble heavily, and I can't understand what you're saying. So the experienced guys still have to wait while you read the commander's text for anyone who doesn't know it, but people like me can't really make out what you're saying (I assume I'm not alone). So, it doesn't really help either group. And I gotta pause and look at the screen to read the card. Can you still enunciate the words clearly while you read fast? Or, alternately, can you slow it down enough that you're able to maintain enunciation so we can make out what you're saying? Thank you!
