- Join me as I embark on a solo kayak camping trip using the Itiwit 3 kayak with a rain storm on our tail - 13 HOUR rain storm. With nowhere to seek shelter but an open shelter in the form of Onetigris' Tentsformer Poncho Shelter, we are covered for the most part. But how will the 1500mm waterproof rating on the Tentsformer stand up against 13 hours of inclement weather? And when morning arises, the tide does not, leaving me somewhat stranded on the river!

Another good video bud, that OneTigris thing looked pretty gash! probably ok over night in the height of summer, dog poo over winter. Mind you you did stay dry and warm, so good effort. Keep the vid's coming, enjoy the work.

Nice to see the Tentsformer in use! It is surprising that it isn't more waterproof considering it is also a rain coat...
I was actually thinking that at the time, designed to be a poncho and yet not too waterproof 😂

i know plenty of people do drink the water they use to heat ration packs, but i always throw it out because of the inks on the outside of the pack, not found any studies on the long term build up of something like that, but i do know It's probably not a good idea to drink a cup of the ink, so best just to avoid any potential build up of the things it is composed of.

@@TreeDeepOutdoors going out myself this weekend, found an amazon seller that is selling the dutch army roll mat designed for the hooped bivy, its extra thick so hope it will help me with the side sleeping, lol.
Is that the M90? That's a super chunky piece of kit, something I've got to invest in as my little foam roll mat has me stiff in the morning! Hope you have a great one at the weekend bud, let me know how you get on!

how you waxing them pads ? eurohike solid fuel tabs are useless af lol
Just get some puffin wax and some lighter fluid and some makeup pads the round ones. And it's a 50-50 combination you melt down the puffin wax and then you measure out the same amount of lighter fluid as the melted puffin wax and mix the two together put a makeup pad in the mix then lay your makeup pad out to dry on some aluminum foil so that way it's easier to get off when it's done drying. Now if they burn too fast when you're done you got too much lighter fluid and not enough wax if they don't seem to burn at all you got too much wax and not enough lighter fluid. If done correctly each pad should burn about 15 minutes.

Ah, so not only has that Tentsformer got crappy poor quality peg out points that shred in a gust of wind, the thing isn't really waterproof to boot. well mine soaked up water like a sponge as well, not sure if it dripped through though!.
