    Hi , the service valve caps had probably been over tightened hence the separation .
    Good content
    All the best

    Lack of maintenance for sure. The blown capacitor is a missing neutral. From the video the isolator do not get checked regularly for loose contacts. Had worked years with daikin never had such issues.

    That moisture growth plus looks like all units in a well, get very hot in summer, but in heating they would just recirculate the cold and that would be very bad for them. Top discharge vrv with a round duct to exhaust air away from roof area might have been a good design consideration,
    Also are these units getting the oil back? What sort of rise does the suction line make?

    Would an oscilloscope help as an addition to your tool box. You can look at current waveforms they can tell you a lot of what's happening. Sorry to be intrusive on your work just a thought. Very helpful watching what you do. Good work 👍

    I regularly find if the compressor is seized or down to earth , that the inverter pcb will also be fooked

      Then that is not cheap repair, if the inverter pcb is fooked

    Hate quoting on repairs on inverter units, replace one thing to find something else faulty. Nothing beats a simple DOL compressor with no fancy electronics. Replace a costly inverter pcb and the money you saved in power costs goes out the window

    Judging by the mold growing on the cabinets I’m thinking excessive humidity might be a problem? I recall working with some conventional heat pump defrost control boards years ago that had inadequate conformal coatings allowing moisture to seep into several components causing failures. Too bad so many units failed...maybe maintenance issues as well? I like your tool kit...cheers from Canada.

    looks like some kind of power surge issue cus bad caps with age do not explode violently they just go high internal resistance . also the choice of outdoor unit is bad , the units should have top discharge in this type of location . side discharge is good when u set these up on walls or have few units for residential install .

    Hello from the U.S. have found Dankin rf units don’t hold up in high moisture environments . Have 2 customers with these , 3 year old units constantly broken, we’re pricing replacement with conventional units now. Don’t like dankin in coastal areas they just fall apart. Good luck

      Hey mate 👍🏼 Things are starting to pick back up now after the whole Covid-19 lockdown.
      The majority of our air conditioning is commercial it’s not very common for people to have air conditioning in their homes.
      We do have central plant which could include what we call Package Units, Air Handling Units, Chillers and Boilers. But most of the kit I work on is VRF, splits etc or ductless you guys call it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    Daikin error code e7 E7 indicates that the fan motor/s in the outdoor unit is not working properly. Which you already knew!

  • @NaathanR
    @NaathanR 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What does “compressor down to earth mean?”

    • @stephenhunter70
      @stephenhunter70 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The motor windings insulation is faulty. The current then takes the shortcut instead of via the winding.

    • @myshadowkungfu
      @myshadowkungfu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The coating around the wire, inside the cpmpressor, has melted and the wire is now touching metal. Hence, "continuity" between it and earth/ground. In the USA, we say its a grounded compressor.

  • @lainj94
    @lainj94 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not really familiar how a heat pump AC works, but from what I see the way they install the outdoor unit it's directly facing each other in such confine space. Pretty sure if it's running in cooling mode the hot air will definitely trap inside and I don't think the compressors will survive for long 😂 That's my experience in South East Asia hot country tho

    • @Bryan-Hensley
      @Bryan-Hensley 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A heatpump should have more "breathing" area than an AC because cold air hugs the ground and gets recirculated back through the unit

    • @pigrew

      My guess is mains voltage was applied to the chassis... Maybe the compressor failed, the "Earth" wasn't earthed or neutral open, and that lifted the chassis voltage up to mains level, causing all the other failures?

  • @richardc1983
    @richardc1983 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Loving your channel usually only see the USA stuff on here. In your opinion why had all these units failed? Old age or abuse such as running at minimum and maximum setpoints all the time?
