    I hate finding installs like that, it does not take much more time to do it with a bit more care and diligence. I know this was not the case with that fault, but I see so many issues arising from poor quality installations. Last Friday I found a tev that was half soldered. Customer had it "regassed" 7 times since the valve was swapped, then finally got fed up with paying so called us in......was not a happy bunny when I showed him. I think more often than not things are done to a price, not a standard nowadays. Keep up the videos though. Appreciate you sharing 🙏

    Great video again 👏
    I must admit that I've never had a leak like that on a liquid receiver . I do remember though a few year's back having a twin fan Daikin unit (can't remember the model) having a major leak on the coil on at least quarter of those braised bends. The unit was relatively new so I got the whole coil replaced on warranty. Then about a month later it did the same thing again, so I got it replaced again! Only to have it go again the third time. Daikin questioned my repairs so i sent all three coils back to be checked. They then later informed me that their was a defect in the manufacturing process due to the coils being produced in another factory in France I think? I later found out that other people were getting the same problem.
    I must mention that I love your tools and set up......very professional ,that umbrella is awesome 👌 . I could of done with that today while replacing a thermistor assembly. 😁

      Yes, we installed 8 twin fan R410a about 3 or 4 years ago. Three have had faulty coils with several leaks on the return bends, and one of the replacement coils also failed. We have also been given another coil and it is in the lockup just in case another goes. Was new Pipework throughout, purged during brazing etc.

    looks like either factory brazing failure, or fatigue crack, ive came across a lot of daikin units with fatigue crack on pipes and condenser coils, it could also be the compressor vibrating too much due to high head pressure and how fast those inverter motor in the comp spins causing fatigue on that fitting, judging from how it sucks hot air from other units
    r32 operates at about 400psi under normal condition, but it might go higher with that hot air its sucking in

      Well, despite what I said earlier about Daikin and their deteriorating quality, I have Daikin kit at home, installed FtXR-E/RXR series indoor/outdoor coils and apart from replacing a motor on the moving flap cover they’ve lasted nearly 10 years trouble-free (use them as my primary heat source in the heating season, as well as summer cooling, so they get plenty of use). The bearings are starting to squeal on one unit, so that’ll need replacing in a few years, but a decade or more isn’t bad. A true “Made in Japan” unit - it shows. Not cheap, though.
      Wish I could say the same for the Czechoslovakia made first generation Emura I installed. Rubbish, (best Donald Trump voice) disaster, absolute disaster. Replaced it with a Stylish. Very happy with that, so maybe Daikin have learned from their flirtation with crappiness.
      Think there’s no such thing these days as brand consistently. Lots of manufacturers running on brand fumes, selling junk at top prices, hoping people won’t notice they’re trashing their good name.

    (1) Is it a seasonal job?
    (2) Can I become an HVAC technician or installer by doing a 15 day fast track course in RAC and HP?
    (3) Is it worth getting a qualification in this field and are there enough job opportunities in London or nearby?
    (4) What jobs can I get into after doing a 15 day fast track RAC and HP

    • @hvacuk8975
      @hvacuk8975  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good to see some interest in the trade 🙌🏼
      It’s definitely not seasonal, there is a lot of different equipment and applications that all fall within ‘HVAC’ or Air Conditioning. A lot of buildings now rely on the air conditioning to heat the space as well as cool. There’s also spaces that need critical cooling all year around, data centres, servers etc.
      Personally, I took the apprenticeship route into the trade which involved 3/4 years day release to college whilst learning on the job at the same time. For me this was the best route and enabled me to gain experience. I was then classed as an ‘improver’ and after another couple of years was classed as an engineer.
      I’m not discrediting any short courses however in my opinion it’s impossible to become an experienced engineer in any trade after just 15 days.
      It may pay to approach companies and explain that you are interested in getting into the trade.
      If you are enthusiastic, keen, hard working and show willing you will be noticed !
      Good luck 👍🏼👍🏼

      @@innercityorganics So I decided to dig deeper and found this tidbit that I was unaware of: Q: What is the material used to make the O-ring?
      A: Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR). I suspect each fitting has two of those "O" rings. So this is good to know, because if I see that in the field gonna require who ever to replace line set for me to do it.
      They expect that seal to last 25 years, but guarantee it for only 10. So after finding that I keep on brazing my fittings.
      Thanks for the input. 😀

    I'm confused, you rightly complain about the wiring and other aspects of the state of the unit yet stated at the beginning that you recently serviced that unit. Why did you not report the faults then?

    • @2000ViperGTSsubscribe
      @2000ViperGTSsubscribe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who said he didn't report? Even if he did, he would be blamed for an upsell and most customers would decline a fix for a working unit. I am a homeowner saying that, but I also own a business.

    Yeah, as a lot have said, Daikin’s quality has apparently slipped. No way should that receiver have leaked on a fairly new unit, nor that coil distribution pipe. Unless it was a hack job install (which I suppose given the other horrors like that cable - hey, sure, why not, when in doubt, just wrap some insulating tape around it :-) no one will ever know…)
    The first generation Emura indoor fancoils were a piece of junk, I know this from experience and that wasn’t down to poor installs.
    Come on Daikin, you can do better than this.
