He was super tight with the pantera members too, basically everybody fucks with Jerry Cantrell, absolute legend and one of the best songwriters ever. He played with ozzy as well and then mike bordin from faith no more did drums for his album degradation trip and trujillo did bass. Definitely a super well respected guy from his peers

Also saw Cantrell open for Metallica way back in 1998... what else can you say, its cool to see them all on stage together even if it is one of the easiest songs to play.
Trujillo and Cantrell go way back. Suicidal Tendencies and AIC toured with Pantera in 92 I think and it was at that time that Robert said to Jerry that if he wanted to jam to give him a call. Jerry remembered that when he couldn't get Inez to play bass on Deg Trip.
They look like they're having a blast just playing together. So much so that James nearly forgot he was supposed to be in place at the mic after the bridge. Way cool.

And passion!! Especially in his early days! Have you seen Harvester of sorrow in Moscow, I believe it was 1991?! Just beats those things clenching his teeth! Love it! I'd rather have someone like that than someone who is technically better but whose expression hardly changes or you can't see the Anger and passion...!!
Jerry , of course, since he is not a Metallica member doesn't perform this song often so he was really focusing the whole time looking at the strings to play it perfectly. I thought that was really cool

People forget that AIC was closer to being a metal band than a grunge band. Dirt was heavy... even Sabbath inspired. His solo album Degradation Trip was pretty heavy and of course he did collaborate with Dime and Damageplan for Ashes to Ashes.

You should really revisit AiC's first three albums and Jerry's two solo albums. AiC were not a lounge music band. Jerry is the riff master :)
