My jaw is somewhere near the floor right now. I mean Sparks are never boring and they always find new twists, often ingenious ones, but I can't believe ANYONE could come up with this! Certainly no one BUT Sparks!
I think this song is clever greatness. The lyrics imply that most simple pop-rock style "Love songs" are pretty lame simple crap music. This is very clever while also musically catchy with all the high energy rock without necessarily having to be straightforward "rock music." I think that is the genius part of this tune. And most of Sparks tunes. They are on their own level of writing brilliant UNIQUE music.

2:29 Ron was about 64 years old at the time of this concert and he got down on his knees like that ? 😳 Congratulations, my grandparents wouldn't be able to do that 😂 The greatest musicians of all time
Honestly, I don't think anyone of them thought of May.💕 Ron and Russell have said that that story ended for the best of everybody, in fact they in hindsight were glad he turned them down. May... I heard an interview with him, and his attitude was actually scornful. (I don't remember his exact words, but he hinted about who had more success and so on.) That story happened 47 (?) years ago, I highly doubt they think of him every time they pick up an electric guitar 😉💕😉😁
@@annabackman3028 Apologies Anna. I wasn't meaning to demean anybody. Ron, Russel, John, Brian, Roger and of course Freddie were all part of my growing up!! I love them all. Now let's have a bit of 'Dick Around' :-) th-cam.com/video/UFZcQtGxnqc/w-d-xo.html

lmfao the amps saying Russell instead of Marshall... I wonder if they've always done that, like, as long as Ron's been doing the Roland/Ronald synth switch
I've been thinking 🤔🤔🤔 Perhaps not my best skill, but never the less. I think this song is about abuse in relationships. Or....🤔 Any other thoughts? Somebody?
I think this song implies that a lot of other songs that talk (have lyrics) about "feelings & commitment " and such, are soft passages, / love songs that normally lack a true sense of fervor and get musicians (and people that like certain songs), like "dedications to the one I love", well, they can get you into trouble. SO yeah, this song really has more meaning and truth to it than other wannabe love songs that are the normal standard boring "soft passages" garbage jargon.
@@WrestlingErnestHemingway, yeah, I understand how you are thinking. But these guys are not known for repeating themselves, so why do "I can't believe you would fall for all the crap in this song" only two years later? I was thinking about that weird behavior (usually women), very much like "the Stockholm syndrome", abused partners have. Of some reason they can't make themselves to leave the relationship, whether it's because they every time believe their partner's "sorry, I will never hit you again" crap or if they are so scared they just don't dare, if their abuser will catch them, he'll kill them. "And since you put a gun to my head" can't find something much more threatening than that. "I promise that I'll rock" - I'll be good to you, love you bla bla. "Don't leave me" - "I'm sorry, I will never do that again". Both lines could be either partner, the abuser, in a remorseful way, begging for forgiveness, or the abused begging for forgiveness for whatever trigged the latest beating ("don't leave me" - part of the likeness to the Stockholm syndrome). "Lack of decisiveness" - take the decision AND GET THE HELL OUT OF IT! That's my interpretation. ONE reason, among thousand others, why I like Sparks is that there's no "you-are-my-true-love" sugary, sleazy stuff. There are a few songs about love, but with some sort of twist, irony, humor. "Slowboat" is a sweet little song 😁
It seems more like an abusive relationship with the music industry and fans. Forced to do nothing but high energy songs otherwise risk being slammed and lose fans.

Super❤
Спарксы - это величайший стёб над всем шоу-бизнесом, несмотря на то, что они являются частью его. Это мега уровень. "Обожаю Спарксов!" (С) "Жмурки".
Ron looking a bit like Leonard Nimoy here.
Aaaaand that's another album version ruined for me. I can't listen to the album version without longing to hear that electric guitar!
