- I am working in my mansion, fully restoring it. I found a mysterious, gigantic, impossible, black, creepy, tank in my basement, that had unknown uses and origins. With the help of a few simple tools, strong hands, a great friend, and a positive attitude, I try to remove the mysterious, impossible, gigantic black tank.

how that dump trunk survives is astounding.
😂😂. That’s what I was thinking when they were throwing stuff in!!
BUILT FORD TOUGH, LOL, I don't think Ford built the rack but have wondered for years what keeps those side stakes from braking off.
I am just amazed as you are to be honest 😂
been thinking that for a while now lol
🤣 you're cool as a cucumber, @@ColeTheCornstar
I'd love to see a video of Cole or Cooper doing a mini restoration of the dump truck, mainly the bed of the truck. It deserves some TLC
No kidding! I’ve lived in fear of one of those sides breaking off and everything falling on a car going to the dump!!! Can you imagine if it was that steel and it killed someone? Bye bye farmhouse, land and everything else to pay off a lawsuit!!!😢
Might as well wait till this job is done that poor old truck is taking a beating on this project LOL
@@guydaubenspeck9206 its taken a beating for years haha, I remember when Cole 1st started cleaning the yard of old augers and the bed was rough then
Good ole Bessie. Those poor side rails have taken so much beating and still hold strong. Leaning but unbroken! Lol.
That would be awesome!
Good job, guys. I'm glad no one got hurt. That tank weighed close to 3000 lbs. Its scrap value may be more than what it initially cost.
Definitely.
I would assume that he would take it all in for scrap….. the pipe, tank and all other and get a nice pay day from it. He never really mentions scrap very often.
Looks like a heating oil tank to me
@@shaneencalade4988 He's done loads of videos where he shows the scrap yard and the weight/price of the scrap he's dumping.
Get a pump and pump it out
UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Can't believe you got that tank out! Glad everyone is safe!
Nice job guys! A lot of graft there! Gas axe was definitely the way to go but would recommend a couple flashback arrestors and maybe take your torch for a service! When that stuff goes wrong it tends to go horribly wrong! Don’t skimp on your safety it’ll be your family that misses you bud!
I was going to mention that but I've given up commenting to him directly, he never answers advise comments, at least I've not seen it so I quietly yell at him through the screen.
There’s usually a flashback arrestor built into the torch no worries
Wow!!!
I, honestly, thought that tank was there to stay...that you'd have to just wall it up with bricks and forget about it.
But, where there's a will, there's a way!!!
Amazing!!!
Congrats, Cole!
so great to hear about how you deal with your problems.
I went to middle school in Cedar Falls, at the grade school/high school that was part of the State College of Iowa. That was in 1966/67. I learned how to, among other things, gas weld and torch.
I'm 67 years old, so that was almost 60 years ago. Not quite, but almost.
In that interim 55+ years, I've used and been in shops with gas welding equipment A LOT. I've done welding, cutting, brazing of all types, professionally and at home, and in all that time, I've NEVER seen anyone catch their torches on fire. I've never done it; don't know anyone who has done it. I've never heard of it happening. Until now.
Even allowing for the fact that I don't know everything, as far as I know, Cole, you're probably the only person in the entire history of ever to catch both their torch and their regulator on fire, within minutes of each event.
The lesson is: check your equipment occasionally. You guys are great about the big expensive stuff, but the little stuff can end you just as surely.
Well said 👍
How freqently blowtorch is used on farm i think only when you got stuck nut on earth equipment but thats set need tlc immidietly... at least checkup for leaks with all that wood above... i think more luck than skill but in future dont play with fire causing stuff... i was terified did you even got a fire extinqesher ? 😂
Here in the UK that equipment has to be inspected every year. The flash back piece has to be replaced every 5 years even if it’s still ok.
@@farmerstephen that only applies in the US for commercial applications this could be considered hobbiest at least for this use.
and since then, agriculture has become a dishonest corporate welfare game
I absolutely love how calm Cole is when things pop off. "Well that didn't work right..."
It's a submarine!!!😅
So nervous it was fuel oil!!
You all work so well together!
That is what I was nervous about too.
The Merrimack or The Monitor?
I was sitting here waiting for my crazy construction crew time. So thankful you showed up tonight you make my day. lol can’t wait for next video. Love this crazy fun crew 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m amazed that the sides of the big truck have not broken off due to the amount of weight & rough treatment they have been subjected to to during the last few months!
Perhaps it’s time to do a truck side restoration vlog?
Thank God you guys didn't get hurt. I was a nervous wreck. Love you guys alot. And am so glad that ugly tank is gone. Please stay safe. Sending lots of prayers ❤❤❤❤❤
This has got to be one of the scariest videos you have done, I’m so glad you didn’t blow up or catch on fire and nobody got hurt. Praise God.!
Why would he. Jfc
What comes to mind is a guy I knew who set a brush pile on fire, without knowing there was a propane tank in the pile. That didn't end well.
You destroy all the fun with the video…
Yep, as a ret firefighter been to 2 calls where people died cutting a smaller tank like that and one 55 gallon drum.
@@luish777 riiight ok
We had a big black tank in my childhood home and it was fuel for our heating. I'm so glad your tank had water! You and Roman got er done! Wow
It was steam radiator heat, remember? They had to have somewhere for the water to go when the heat was off.
O2 tanks, fire, old wood….you guys are fearless.
Roman is hilarious... "Did I tell you I had an appointment today." 🤣😂
I have been waiting to see what you had to do to take that huge tank out of there ! Whew it was unbelievable ! I know one thing it took a lot of dedication and muscle, not counting all the supplies it used to. My goodness I know you are happy to get that job done, you and Roman nailed it!
I watched a video from four or five years ago. You and Hneiva were painting over the green walls in the parlor and living room. The walls were so dry you had to buy extra paint to get a good coating. When all is said and done, the total cost of ALL the improvements on this house since you moved in it will be mind blowing. I hope you get a good chunk of change from the scrap metal from the tank, pipes, etc.
@@kittty2005 well considering it has lasted the last 100 years of whatever the weather had to throw at it...i'd say he likely isnt too worried :)
I didn’t think you were serious about removing that huge tank…or…I’d have thought you might have hired a professional (?) person for that…hazardous materials remover? OR I would have thought this would have been a three video job at the very least. So impressive! Cole…your ability to visualize what you want to happen and then figure out the steps to see it through is remarkable. Not many people have that ability
I dont think there are any professional tank people out there. They are in the big cities.
Cole there is a good chance that is low background radiation steel if the tank was manufactured before the first nuclear bomb went off. It’s used in medical grade equipment and radiation detecting equipment. It can be worth a lot of money if you can find the right person to sell it to.
For it to be low radiation steel it would have to have been somewhere without man made radiation, which is typically at the bottom of the ocean. Just because the tank was in a basement doesn't magically shield it from radiation. It'll have received the same dose of radiation from nuclear bombs as any other piece of steel on the planet.
Waiting for the "next one!" -- This was worth the wait -- I know you are relieved that tank is gone! Just realized I hadn't finished watching Nave's channel & that last video. I was excited to hear about the childrens' bedrooms & the rest with her input. Blessings to all!
Love your determination, very interesting, very educational. I also admire your constantly cleaning up after each project. Your reminders of working safely over time is very impressive. Keep up the good work you are doing.
Really working safely , did you not see the flame up of the torches with no reverse flow check valves ,pure luck they never blew themselves up .Luck is all it is , this entire project has been unsafe no safety on this project at all. Anyone walking around on open joist when they don't need to is foolish. Any slip or trip could be disastrous. If you think this is a safe work project you need to wake up because this is not safe at all.
Literally had me on the edge of my seat watching this, a real nail biter of an episode of the on going saga of the mansion remodel/ renovation and I loved every minute of it!!!!!
WOW!! I admire your tenacity. Excellent job!!
Hurrah!! You got that HUGE stinky water pressure tank out!! That was 1 heck of a job! Nice going you 2! 😊😊
Congratulations on reaching 600k subs 😄👍
Thank you 😇
Never cease to amaze me-great job, guys.....
Good chunk of change for that metal scrap lol!! 👍💪
Wow I never thought you would be able to get that out. Great Job Roman. 😊
First generation water tank . A electric pump was probably used to pressure the water system to supply running water to all outlets in the house. Then later a different well and water system was installed, which was able to bypass that big tank. Later the tank could have been used for luxury or added capacity for the furnace fuel.
Good that tank is out of the house and you will be able to have a usable room there in the future. Amazing job Cole and Roman‼️
Pro tip, fill the hose with water with the other end in the tank, then put the end down on the ground to start the siphon. No nasty suckage necessary.
Thanks for that tip
I had an interesting job to do once onboard the USS America CV-66. Contractors were weight testing the cables that operated a pc of equipment down in one of the SAS spaces (where the special bombs are kept and a Marine guard on duty). My dam torch handle vibrated loose much like yours did carrying the little porta-pak down there and when I lit it, it backfired and set that Marine into panic mode. Before I could explain what had happened I was face down on the deck with a mossberg 12 ga stuck in my ear. Thank God there was someone else there that could speak for me as I was busy kissing the floor. I made sure that the Marine Captain knew I'd never let him off the hook on that one. Great bunch of guys, proud to haul them around ;)
good resourcefulness on this one - you are glad to get tank out of there - future torch jobs will look easy now - the right tools go a long way
This video clearly shows that if Cole didn't have autosteer on his tractors he would be lucky just to stay on his land. That cut at 15:30 makes that clear. 🤣
I am thankful for auto steer 😂
I wonder if you all have any idea how much I and I'm sure many others look forward to watching all of this. You all Crack me up along with doing a fantastic job
Glad yall got that big ole creepy tank out of the basement..
Safety first..
Yall did a great job..❤
So glad you were able to safely remove the tank. I was concerned!!
Not long found this channel and I don't normally comment, but you did a great job with that tank. Got a bit worried with flames coming out of the welding equipment where it shouldn't. Glad you got through safely with no one getting hurt. James.
Twice the lord stepped in and kept you from meeting your demise Cole. My heart was thumping when you guys were using that torch 😂😂😂
Obviously you don't know how to use one @albertorozco5981, were you praying for him?
I agree 🔥scared me too !
Roman is the fun and brains of everything.
Cole isn't what he used to be. He let the g
Fame go to his head.
AND he's absolutely gorgeous!!
Why didn't he flip over the Sawzall blade for a better angle to start a cut ?
You are getting better at this whole content creation thing.
That was awesome. I love watching that. My husband has done a lot of welding and taking stuff apart in his day and welded conveyors in his youth so this was awesome. Where there is a will there is a way. That is some thick iron. Mercy!
Amazing and they sure don't make stuff like they used to. LOL Be nice to see how much the iron all weighs.
Blessings.......rest, renew and thanks for sharing! Loved it!
Plasma cutter hooked to a generator?... Never seen anything like that tank. Loving this project!
OMG! I'm amazed that you actually got it out. My mind boggles. Best wishes!
Woohoo! GONE! So proud of you guys! TYTY for sharing! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
So glad you got it out! I’m like everybody else I thought it was just gonna have to stay in the basement
Great job, Cole and Roman!!! Good thing you had the tools to conquer that beast!!!
Heck ya I was waiting for the video to cut the tank out ! Let's gooo
2nd your comment. Looks like at least 2 to 3 days of work. Be safe guys.
CONGRATULATIONS on 600K!!!
I've been waiting for this episode for a while. I knew someday you'd get to this and glad everything turned out great for you. That was a ton of work just getting this thing out of the basement. Looking forward to see what you're going to do with all the extra room now.
It was awesome seeing this beast of a water tank getting carried out of your house! Now it's going to be a chore to clean up the floor. One step at a time. Nothin' to it, but to do it! Congrats on the tank removal, Cole!
Can also use Oxygen Acetylene cutting torch and leave tanks outside the basement - longer gas hoses are cheap. Use flane stop couplers to stop flashing back in acetylene hoses. 10:29
Pure luck you two didn't get hurt, thank God Roman insisted on the welding helmet to protect from welding flash and permanent eye damage,i would love to know what the value in scrap was.
This is freaking awesome to watch bro!!! Thank u so much for sharing it w us
great job! - I think it would be interesting to see you remake the side to the dump trailer.
Cordless tools are great, but when you need sustained torque, corded power tools can't be beat. That's why I have two of every tool, one cordless and it's twin with a cord
Do you also have Safety Guards with them?
Well said.
Congrats on 600 K Cole, Nave and all who help with the channel. Today you reminded me why, I have been watching you for almost 5 years. Your ability to look at any problem and solve it. I am so proud of you! 😊❤
Good thing you all are young!!! 😂 Thank goodness no one was hurt! Love your videos! Keep them coming!❤
Great job, Cole, but yes, glad Neva didn't see you doing it! 😱
I'm sitting here watching this and screaming OMFG, OMG, OH $H1T, at my tv and my husband came in to see what on earth I was watching. I lost count on how many times you or Roman could have died or been badly burned by an explosion. Now that it's over I need a freaking glass of wine to calm me down! I love, love watching your renovation of this old, beautiful home. I feel like I'm watching the Breaking Bad series all over again.
You do realize the tank is full of water right? 😂
He thought you had an orgasm
I said the same!! Even after figuring out it was water, having it drain in a basement drain????? Really??? He has no clue whether that drain could handle that volume (get a pump and drain it outside), and he’s not thinking that maybe after all those years there’s bacteria or mold growing in that water??? Yuck!!! For safety reasons, he should have called professionals.
Ok ladies ... Let's calm down. These guys act like they don't know what they are doing, but they are smarter than your average bear. If you have been watching a while you know Cole has used that torch a ton in the past cutting up stuff in the junk yard out back. There were these long pieces of equipment, way bigger than this tank, and he had like half a dozen or more in the weeds that he cut up and brought to the scrap yard when he first started this channel.
Great to see that Roman uses ear muffs - to save the advent of hearing loss when using the saws all!
Could’ve made one heck of a smoker outta that tank!
I love the “figuring it out as we go” approach. Lots of ingenuity and creativity. You guys scare my ole’ Nana heart sometimes though! 😮😅😂❤
Wow. You did the impossible getting that thing out. What a huge accomplishment. Congrats. Can't wait to see what's next.
You n your crew of 2 just have me in tears ( laughing), your content is to,to funny
Too
aw man there for a second thought you needed to call Super Cooper for that torch work
This had me so nervous and so glad that tank is GONE! Great work! I love the math, btw🤣
Handy man with a plan ! Thank you for sharing.
Be careful for legionella sickness- you steam up lot of old water and breath it in
My brother lost all his fingers and toes from legionaires disease because he didn't get enough oxygen to his limbs. He got it from a dirty air conditioning unit in his apartment.
Farmers are the smartest most versatile people, they have to know so many various skills and are willing to tackle almost any problem and are usually successful in figuring stuff out.
They also tend to have the lowest safety threshold of any do it yourselfers. In engineering safety classes half of the videos we watch about potential hazards are shot of farmers.
This is also true, I've worked with several farmers in the past and they tend to overlook safety pretty regularly. They tend to look for solutions to issues then if it's safe to try those solutions. Good observation@@laurenarigo3894
Well done getting that tank , emptied, cut down and out of the house👍🤝
Can’t believe you guys got that tank out amazing job guys great work keep it coming ❤😊
I think this is the BEST YT video I've ever watched! This series is awesome and kudos to your new video editor guy! He's doing amazing so please tell him I said so. Loved this!
Get yourself some flashback suppressors for that torch.
Holy moly! You guys had me biting my nails! Glad everything worked out!😊
The lights off cutting was quite lovely. The wall behind the tank even looked like Jupiter.
FYI, if you ever have to syphon a tank again, have the hose pre-filled with water, put you thumb over the lower end, put the top end in the tank. Release your thumb from the lower end and it will begin draining.
You're amazing Cole I love these videos you and Roman
Hurry with the next one 😂😂
Tanks! For the video 😄 seeing the the tank I thought maybe fuel oil. Hate to fill that sucker nowadays 😬.
Cole should get a big box trailer that he could move with his tractor trucks / semi's. Great job Roman & Justin.
what would he use a semi box trailer for on the farm?
Roman has an appointment today.
Roman cleaning the toilet..cracked me up..😂😂😂😂 How did Justin get out of this job?🤔 Can't wait for the next video!
Water storage like a cistern?
Holy cow! I can’t believe you got that out! Great job!
The tank ends would make a great firepit! Hope you had a fire extinguisher in that basement. I've never seen a regulator catch fire maybe time to upgrade that set!
I wouldn’t want to be in the same county when these two are operating a torch
Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
Cole we are having so much fun watching you guys 😂 It’s going to be so sad when everything gets fixed up
I, for one will be sad to just watch corn & bean videos
Congrats on the 600K SUB’s Cole. So happy for you brother!!
I'll be disappointed if we don't get at least one Roman chicken coop built video.
Can I share this with my OSHA students on what not to do???
Your persistence was epic. Calculating volumes, timelines was very interesting and shows you are not just pretty faces😜
A laugh a minute with you two. My sides are hurting with all of the laughter!
**OSHA liked this Video**
Looking forward to subscribing to Romans chicken coop build.
Oh my word. Can’t believe how far you have gotten on the house. That tank will give you nightmares for a while!!
Again with the quickness in video turn out. Amazing!!
At least Roman used a preferred way to small any contained vapours - by using his hand to waft the vapours to him.
Some years ago I took the lid of a large bottle & put my nose directly on the opening.
It was pure ammonia gas! Even a half second’s exposure cleared my sinuses out really quickly!
You need another complete set of torches before you die!💀💀💀
A+++ on editing. Doing math, or the check list. Really well done.
Also, it looked like a good opportunity for someone to paint that scene. The contrast with the blue wall, yellow flame and green tank. Just looked awesome.
Looks like a good start for a work bench in the basement on them blocks.
