Donald Pleasance seemed like such an awesome guy! Wish I could’ve met him. He gave 110% every performance! Even in poor health he still took the role of Dr. Loomis very seriously in part six! He’s a legend. There can only be one Dr Loomis. As awesome as Malcom McDowell is he just couldn’t replace Pleasance.
@Jarred Knox The documentary explains in it. The script wasn't completed before filming started. They threw stuff in such as the man in the silver-tipped boots. Those are just a few examples. The script not being completed when filming started is the biggest issue.
'This movie' was pretty much all Michael Myers stalking people, and Loomis stalking HIM...That's the classic premise from the original, and nobody has adhered to it any more faithfully than Halloween 5. Some of the peripheral elements may have been questionable, but the central motif of the film makes PERFECT sense.
I wish Danielle was in more horror movies, she was so good in this movie. I also loved her in Halloween (2007), and Urban Legends. I wish she had been in a Scream movie :-)

Blood Night is highly recommended. I have Black Waters of Echo Pond but havent watched it yet. I read somewhere in a magazine she showed up on the set of Halloween 6 and demanded to have a role but was forcibly removed. Not sure if its true but considering she likely needed work it might be. She's said she read the script and turned down the role in later interviews though
I've never heard anyone claim that he was ever ANYTHING but a complete professional. Whatever he did in his trailer obviously never affected his work. That anecdote tells you a lot more about Danielle than it does about Donald.
I just always assumed that Rachel was killed so early in the movie because Ellie Cornell didn't want to do the whole movie. It now seems even stupider knowing that she really wanted to do it. Tina was annoying af.
Rachael had what it took to make it through H5 . She had a mental toughness and smarts to face Myers and not fall into easy death. If she had to die it should have been toward the end after putting up a fight to the end for Jamie.
I get why Rachel had to die early, Michael's thinking "she gave me a lot of problems last time, I've gotta take her out." But the way it happened was so dumb
Tina is 100% right!!! For so many people to hate this movie, A LOT of people keep watching this movie year after year.... hate all you want, but after watching this documentary, I do see the fun and enjoyment the crew had on set, and that comes through in the movie. Well done crew, and way to go Tina!!!
While I have no problem with Tina I think it would've been better if they had made her Lindsey instead. After all Lindsey was babysat by Laurie in the first Halloween and she was one of the two kids who was traumatized by Michael at such a young age so it would've been cool for her to help Jamie deal with Michael like how Laurie helped Lindsey almost like returning a favor. Plus we saw her in Halloween 4 and she needed to return.

What cracks me up continuity wise with part 5 is when Don Shanks takes off his mask and we see his face a bit and the tear, his face wasn't burned. At least part 4 had bandages around Michael's face before he got the new mask, but since this was still part of following part 2 ('81), his face should've been burned too.
I saw this the Day After my house burned down at 11 years old ......... My mom was soo distraught and asked me what would make me feel better and i told her i wanted to see my scary movie...so she took me but before hand she went and bought me a new NES bcus mine was melted away, the newest issue of Fangoria that I still have as well as the NES lol...and we saw this and it Did let me escape from the Hell i was facing afterwards...for THIS reason this will ALways be my FAVORITE pt Ever....u Helped Heal my pain...THANK YOU PS:Damn these Ladies all Aged Amazingly Well... Even as a kid I thought I was imagining things when they did the clown music with the cops.... And I remember the commercial trailers made it look like it was gonna be so hardcore and awesome. They had scenes of swat guys hiding in the dark, they showed him escaping the dynamite, ‘Michael myers is back, and this time they’re ready’ it looked like it was gonna kick so much ass... it’s really sad to hear the actors talking about how hard they worked to make it good. Apparently this French director just didnt get it
People complain about that ending of Halloween 5 but I loved it. Something symbolic about Michael Myers in jail (capturing evil) was genius. I had to wait forever for the reveal of the Man in Black.
Yes indeed! The ending was great! I don't understand why many prople didn't like the ending and also I don't get why they didn't like the Thorn Curse and the Man in Black element, those 2 element were awesome and was a very brilliant creative idea that made the Halloween franchise that much more interesting and scarier to watch.

Me too. We would've seen her in part 6 but they got cheap with her. They wanted to pay her only $1000. Ridiculous and insulting. As soon as she tried to start to negotiate the pay, Danielle was out. Really, bullshit. Not cool.
The fifth film could have been better had it followed the cliffhanger ending from the fourth film. Killing off Rachel too early was a big mistake. Giving Tina too much screentime didn't help.
How to make the film better: -Switch Rachel's and Tina's places. Tina dies early and Rachel dies later. -Get rid of the goofy crap like the cartoon sounds for the cops, Michael's dumb comedic skit when he was driving Tina, and the Cult of Thorn elements. -Don't have that stupid ending where Michael is sitting in jail and the Man in Black shoots up the station. Just my opinion. Anyone else agree?

I think if they would have switched Tina death with Rachael's death it would have been a better movie. Having Rachael sacrifice herself to save Jamie makes so much more sense.
One thing decent horror movies have learned from this and Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child is don’t make sequels too close together. Give us the chance to digest the movie before trying to cash in, and rashly at that.

He (and the specific mask he wore) is the one who defined Michael Myers (i.e., his appearance, body language, manner of walking, etc), and it was in the best movie of the franchise. The guys who played Michael Myers in the other movies don't look like Michael Myers, obviously. The only logical way for someone to be a "better" Michael Myers would be to look more like Michael Myers, and it's impossible to look more like Michael Myers than the guy who defined his appearance in the first place.
@MaximRecoil I hear ya. The actors who played Michael Myers in H4,5,6, and the Rob Zombie remakes were big guys definitely. Halloween 2, Halloween H20, Resurrection, and H2018 are more faithful to the original idea of Michael Myers and I agree with you on that one.
I enjoyed 4, and parts of 5 but it got real deluded real fast. I liked the little girl Jamie, she was a sympathetic character for sure, and like her mommy tough as nails even when scared shiteless. What were you guys thinking with the occult angle, it was silly. Holy crap, a young Greg Nicotero. Donald made those early movies, without him it's hard to imagine them being good at all.
I think Jamie had to be mute since she was “possessed” by Michael, and Michael was a mute himself. So if he possessed Jamie, and could talk, it would totally break character.
Apparently everyone was hooking up too. Loomis was slammed on bourbon during his scenes. Tamara Glyyn looks like she just railed a line before doing this interview, and the director just is MIA for everything H5 considered.
The original crew should have stayed on for 5. Jamie should have been the killer, like they originally planned. There was just... so much missed potential.
I remember at the time thinking it was cool the ending for 4 but Jamie in 5 being the killer and continuing with that wouldnt have worked. There's things to really like about 5. Biggest mistake was killing of Rachel and replacing her with Tina.
the biggest disappointment I had for 5 was - WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT HOUSE?!?!?! as we saw in 1 and 2 then again in 6 - it was a plain 2 story white house .... not a blue one with a castle turret shape, a ginormous living room and having a gigantic attic. If they showed the original house (or something with the same kind of layout to make it believeable) then maybe but that house caused a gigantic continuity error for me.
Resurrection featured a much more accurate Myers' house...which serves to demonstrate just how LITTLE it matters...5 was an incredible, epic classic...and the finale at the Myers' house is a big part of the film...Now, with what they did in Resurrection, you could have set the thing in a mansion or a trailer park, and it would simply have made NO DIFFERENCE...Once they committed to making Busta Rhymes the star of the film, well, NO HOUSE was going to help or hurt...Busta Rhymes is not an actor...and worst of all, he DOESN'T KNOW IT...
I think 3 things really hurt this movie. 1. Killing Rachel off so early 2. Showing a human side to Michael 3. The Myers house Throughout the series up to this point Loomis talked about Michael as if he was pure evil. By that I looked at it as he has no empathy, no remorse for what he does and as explained isn't human. So I felt it was a little wierd that they showed his face and having him cry a bit contradicting to how the character had been portrayed throughout the series up to that point. Rachel being killed off at the beginning of the movie sort of took me out of it a bit as she was becoming like another Laurie Strode character which could've went in any direction. It could've even been worked in so that in the 6th movie both Rachel and Jamie find out that they're real sisters. Or having Jamie die at the start of 6 there could've been some sort of backstory to her that explaned that they were real sisters. The Myers house wasn't the Myers house and didn't even look remotely like the original Myers house.
The director was just about the ONLY one to come along since Carpenter who actually DID understand what film he was working on. Halloween 5 was built on the same framework that the original had been.
Halloween 5 could have worked if they just tweaked some things. -Change Jamie from a mute child to a damaged child. Instead of crying, she become cold and distant. You’re not sure if she IS evil, or if the ending of Halloween 4 was trauma. -Rachel struggles through the movie to relate to Jamie and get her sister back. Tina’s obnoxious attitude is often used to diffuse tension, or coax a laugh out of Jamie, instead of being annoying. -Rachel dies heroically towards the end of the movie, causing another reaction in Jamie to finally realize she must channel her trauma into strength. -Tina, taking over as Jamie’s “older protector” realizes that Michael wasn’t the joke she thought he was. And Jamie isn’t a kid anymore. She dies heroically in a Halloween 6 where Jamie finally ends Michael and closing the Thorn storyline.
Be a critic all you want, I loved 4 and 5 and thought they were scary. Yeah the story did take a few sharp turns but its still a great ride throughout.

In my fan fiction version of Halloween they bring Rachel back and here's why. In 5 Rachel is discovered in the attic by Jamie with the other Myers victims but because of where he stabbed her near her collarbone the amount of blood she's lost she appears to be dead (slow pulse, shallow breathing) when Jamie finds her but at the end of the movie we can see her being taken away by the ambulance, she survives. And just like that we have Rachel back!
Great upload! Thanks! Its interesting the actors feel the same way about the movie as the fans. For me, the family thing, I was okay with. The actors were great. Danielle was one of the best child actors I've ever seen. It's the whole supernatural witchcraft thing that ruined it for me, and making Michael too human. Crazy, but I like 6 better, just because Michael was more in character. But the Thorn curse... nah. If there's anything supernatural it should be contained to Michael and remain vague or unexplained. The new movie did well on that :)

Rachel should never have been killed off. The biggest mistake of H5. And it was never ever as good as its predecessor. Producers and writers totally messed up.
I've always heard in one of the Halloween 5 docs behind Greg Nicotero there's the disfigured makeup for Michael which was obviously scrapped. Is there any truth to this and has anyone seen it? 5 is flawed, looks like a tv movie but it is what it is and I love it
Danielle's acting in the Halloween movies and on Roseanne was excellent. I liked Neve Campbell in the lead role Sydney in Scream, but I could imagine Danielle playing that role too.
halloween 5 and 6 is pretty much the two movies where Myers is a victim. They made him have the Thorn people warp his mind, but he was an innocent child, innocent man inside.. I never liked that, I prefer carpenter's vision of him being always bad

Yes Loomis became Michael guardian. Wish they had done the sequel that was planned for part 6 which was to continue right where it ended into the same night and we were to learn more about the Thorn curse and the Druid cult and that most of Haddonfield was in on it the whole time watching over Michael
The Thorn was great. It made Michael Myers even scarier and more interesting to watch, the Thorn also gave the franchise more creativity, instead of Michael Myers going around mysteriously killing random people we really don't care for when we see them die. Plus Michael Myers always being mysterious gets boring, repetitive, and way too predictable which makes him definitely not scary at all, that's why I'm glad they did what they did in Parts 5 and 6 P-Cut, it changed it up attempting something different.
I liked the mask, the mask was creepy! It's ranked 3rd on my list, and the reason for it is that it was the mask that gave me nightmares when I was little when I first saw Halloween 5.

I don't understand why many prople didn't like the ending and also I don't get why they didn't like the Thorn Curse and the Man in Black element, those 2 element were awesome and was a very brilliant creative idea that made the Halloween franchise that much more interesting and scarier to watch.

Me too. Some people mix it up with 6...they complain about the cult, but that didn't amount to anything until 6...Halloween 5 is almost nothing but traditional, stalker/slasher content...Michael hunting his victims, and Loomis hunting HIM...

As far as movies outside the Halloween Franchise for my favorites are: The Mothman Prophecies, Joyride, One Missed Call-Hey, how about putting Shannon Sossamyn in a Halloween movie? I'll be her doorman, or doormat. The Newest Nightmare on Elm Street-Katie Cassidy-see Shannon Sossamyn, and ATM, to name a few. However, Danielle Harris; also so good in the awesome Urban Legend, will always be queen of Halloween. Thanks for this.

Rachel died at the 20 minute mark. Not sure I would've walked out of the theater at that point...but it was definitely a HUGE mistake!

The fifth film could have been better had it followed the cliffhanger ending from the fourth film. Killing off Rachel too early was a big mistake. Giving Tina too much screentime didn't help.
How to make the film better:
-Switch Rachel's and Tina's places. Tina dies early and Rachel dies later.
-Get rid of the goofy crap like the cartoon sounds for the cops, Michael's dumb comedic skit when he was driving Tina, and the Cult of Thorn elements.
-Don't have that stupid ending where Michael is sitting in jail and the Man in Black shoots up the station.

He (and the specific mask he wore) is the one who defined Michael Myers (i.e., his appearance, body language, manner of walking, etc), and it was in the best movie of the franchise. The guys who played Michael Myers in the other movies don't look like Michael Myers, obviously. The only logical way for someone to be a "better" Michael Myers would be to look more like Michael Myers, and it's impossible to look more like Michael Myers than the guy who defined his appearance in the first place.
@MaximRecoil I hear ya. The actors who played Michael Myers in H4,5,6, and the Rob Zombie remakes were big guys definitely. Halloween 2, Halloween H20, Resurrection, and H2018 are more faithful to the original idea of Michael Myers and I agree with you on that one.

I enjoyed 4, and parts of 5 but it got real deluded real fast. I liked the little girl Jamie, she was a sympathetic character for sure, and like her mommy tough as nails even when scared shiteless. What were you guys thinking with the occult angle, it was silly. Holy crap, a young Greg Nicotero. Donald made those early movies, without him it's hard to imagine them being good at all.

I remember at the time thinking it was cool the ending for 4 but Jamie in 5 being the killer and continuing with that wouldnt have worked. There's things to really like about 5. Biggest mistake was killing of Rachel and replacing her with Tina.

the biggest disappointment I had for 5 was - WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT HOUSE?!?!?! as we saw in 1 and 2 then again in 6 - it was a plain 2 story white house .... not a blue one with a castle turret shape, a ginormous living room and having a gigantic attic. If they showed the original house (or something with the same kind of layout to make it believeable) then maybe but that house caused a gigantic continuity error for me.
Resurrection featured a much more accurate Myers' house...which serves to demonstrate just how LITTLE it matters...5 was an incredible, epic classic...and the finale at the Myers' house is a big part of the film...Now, with what they did in Resurrection, you could have set the thing in a mansion or a trailer park, and it would simply have made NO DIFFERENCE...Once they committed to making Busta Rhymes the star of the film, well, NO HOUSE was going to help or hurt...Busta Rhymes is not an actor...and worst of all, he DOESN'T KNOW IT...
I think 3 things really hurt this movie.
1. Killing Rachel off so early
2. Showing a human side to Michael
3. The Myers house
Throughout the series up to this point Loomis talked about Michael as if he was pure evil. By that I looked at it as he has no empathy, no remorse for what he does and as explained isn't human. So I felt it was a little wierd that they showed his face and having him cry a bit contradicting to how the character had been portrayed throughout the series up to that point.
Rachel being killed off at the beginning of the movie sort of took me out of it a bit as she was becoming like another Laurie Strode character which could've went in any direction. It could've even been worked in so that in the 6th movie both Rachel and Jamie find out that they're real sisters. Or having Jamie die at the start of 6 there could've been some sort of backstory to her that explaned that they were real sisters.
The Myers house wasn't the Myers house and didn't even look remotely like the original Myers house.
The director clearly didn’t realise what film he was working on. The team behind H4 would of made a fantastic sequel
The director was just about the ONLY one to come along since Carpenter who actually DID understand what film he was working on. Halloween 5 was built on the same framework that the original had been.
I wish they would have explained Tamara Glynn’s death a little more. Her character’s death wasn’t described very well

Halloween 5 could have worked if they just tweaked some things.
-Change Jamie from a mute child to a damaged child. Instead of crying, she become cold and distant. You’re not sure if she IS evil, or if the ending of Halloween 4 was trauma.
-Rachel struggles through the movie to relate to Jamie and get her sister back. Tina’s obnoxious attitude is often used to diffuse tension, or coax a laugh out of Jamie, instead of being annoying.
-Rachel dies heroically towards the end of the movie, causing another reaction in Jamie to finally realize she must channel her trauma into strength.
-Tina, taking over as Jamie’s “older protector” realizes that Michael wasn’t the joke she thought he was. And Jamie isn’t a kid anymore. She dies heroically in a Halloween 6 where Jamie finally ends Michael and closing the Thorn storyline.
Be a critic all you want, I loved 4 and 5 and thought they were scary. Yeah the story did take a few sharp turns but its still a great ride throughout.

In my fan fiction version of Halloween they bring Rachel back and here's why. In 5 Rachel is discovered in the attic by Jamie with the other Myers victims but because of where he stabbed her near her collarbone the amount of blood she's lost she appears to be dead (slow pulse, shallow breathing) when Jamie finds her but at the end of the movie we can see her being taken away by the ambulance, she survives. And just like that we have Rachel back!

For me, the family thing, I was okay with. The actors were great. Danielle was one of the best child actors I've ever seen. It's the whole supernatural witchcraft thing that ruined it for me, and making Michael too human. Crazy, but I like 6 better, just because Michael was more in character. But the Thorn curse... nah. If there's anything supernatural it should be contained to Michael and remain vague or unexplained. The new movie did well on that :)
Every time I see Greg Nicotero having a great time in this documentary I’m thinking “why did you think YOUR face/head was a good choice for a mold of Michael Myers’ mask?”

I've always heard in one of the Halloween 5 docs behind Greg Nicotero there's the disfigured makeup for Michael which was obviously scrapped. Is there any truth to this and has anyone seen it? 5 is flawed, looks like a tv movie but it is what it is and I love it
Danielle's acting in the Halloween movies and on Roseanne was excellent. I liked Neve Campbell in the lead role Sydney in Scream, but I could imagine Danielle playing that role too.
halloween 5 and 6 is pretty much the two movies where Myers is a victim. They made him have the Thorn people warp his mind, but he was an innocent child, innocent man inside.. I never liked that, I prefer carpenter's vision of him being always bad

Thorn is the only thing that made sense and it was perfect in explaining Myers something that should have been done in the first film
Yes Loomis became Michael guardian. Wish they had done the sequel that was planned for part 6 which was to continue right where it ended into the same night and we were to learn more about the Thorn curse and the Druid cult and that most of Haddonfield was in on it the whole time watching over Michael
The Thorn was great. It made Michael Myers even scarier and more interesting to watch, the Thorn also gave the franchise more creativity, instead of Michael Myers going around mysteriously killing random people we really don't care for when we see them die. Plus Michael Myers always being mysterious gets boring, repetitive, and way too predictable which makes him definitely not scary at all, that's why I'm glad they did what they did in Parts 5 and 6 P-Cut, it changed it up attempting something different.

I did not like Michael's mask in this one. Hated it.
I liked the mask, the mask was creepy! It's ranked 3rd on my list, and the reason for it is that it was the mask that gave me nightmares when I was little when I first saw Halloween 5.
