    I had a pet rock collection stashed here and there for heating purposes. It is amazing how fast they can take the bite out of winter. After the fire has gone out a nice big rock will still be warm. Wrap it in a towel and bring it into your sleeping bag...shivers gone instantly. Use a roast pan to keep a variety of sizes and types for different purposes.

    Wonderful!
    Great tent with all the pockets.
    18:45 - Yes, this is the most difficult part: you have assembled the stove, then burn wood in it to keep warn, but keep the toxins out.

    If you have the room, an old school white gas Coleman lantern will warm your tent a lot Not as much as the wood stove but definitely helps

    Strangely enough, I did the same thing last December - Bought a Cabela 12' Ultimate Alaknak Outfitter tent - The last in their inventory - It was discontinued and 40% off... It is a great tent... And a stove... Back yard winter camping... Lovely outdoor sleeping at home... Weights some 85 lbs... 12' square with center pole, so one person can set it up... Sleep with Bushcraft Spain blanket and oilskin wool cover, and sheepskins...

    .... Very nice !! Totally a palace ...A perfect set up for a few days to a couple of weeks ... room to move is the answer to winter treks and shared outdoor events ... I have had a few hot tents over the years ,, my last purchase is a White Duck Regatta Bell tent with a Winnerwell Woodlander stove ,, Great set up for me now ..........Good to see the sub count climbing ,, won't be long you will be reaching that million mark .... With a back yard like that ,, you could pull off plenty of outdoor and bushcraft video's ,, nobody needs to know that you didn't pack in 20 miles ,,, there are lots of creators that do it that way .... looks now to need a bigger pulk sled or toboggan for the gear ... Look forward to 2024 treks and trials with Alexis and Brandon .... Stay Safe ...

    As you get older, those little creature comforts are a blessing. Yes, more to drag out, but worth the weight in fun! Set it up and stay a weekend? Yep. Overnight? Nope. This is an extended stay shelter. I really prefer a week out, if you can manage it, because you didn't go camp to setup and tear down, you went to do all the other things you can do. Be comfortable, have fun, stay warm. Frozen extremities is not fun. huddling together is fun for a awhile, if it's the necessity? Nope. Love the tent. Really close to my US Army surplus 6 Man, but it also had a kitchen addition on the front, no floor. Great place to leave the wet stuff and non-essentials. Used to take me 1 hour alone to set it up. 2 people? less than half.

    That is a nice tent for 'Glamping' Once you try it you'll be hooked..... But seriously if you go out with the girls it's a great way to share your fountain of knowledge with them while being comfortable. Bit different here in the UK so I have a set of 'Glamping' gear for when out with the family and stuff I use just for me, love both. Really natural Careena, keep 'em coming.

    Good to see you're trying new things. My wife and I have a similar glamping set up of canvas bell tent, woodburner, camp beds (or cots as you call them) with wool blankets and rugs on the ground sheet. The only drawback is the prep time, packing and unpacking and then drying out a damp canvas tent if it gets wet. All good though and worth it 😊

    May I recommend a ground cloth to protect the floor from punctures and the rain fly is handy. I’m in Arizona and the rain fly also protects the tent from the brutal sun in the summer. I leave my tent up for weeks at a time at home as you did and also at my mountain property. When you roll up the door awning, roll it opposite of the way you did. That prevents water from accumulating inside the bundle. When setting it up or taking it down, unzip a window or door to allow airflow. I saw your request for me to message you. I was busy then I forgot….Sorry ( old timers disease 😉)

    Nice to see a new vid of a Springbar tent, and well-produced. Suggestion: at the 12:00 timestamp, why not add two more steel support cables from the end of each springbar then straight out to the chimney? Would add lateral support in high winds. BTW this tent should withstand 70mph winds but watch out for snow loads in blizzards! I own the predecessor to this tent, the Family Camper 7, and have had many years of service without issues, and it's still going strong. I don't use a tent stove though. Liked your content, quality, production and presentation so I subscribed. Cheers.

    • @careenaalexis
      @careenaalexis  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's rounded, not flat. A quick tap on the roof from inside the tent if it's snowing keeps it from weighing down, I've left the tent up in the last 2 snowstorms to test it out, definitely needs a bit of maintenance but holds up amazingly well. Rain is fine though. Snow gathers on my tipi style tent too, they will always need a bit of supervision to prevent build up.
