    That Lexus GX470 isn't being hindered by having the smallest tires it looks like driver error. What a shame because that is a beautiful super capable vehicle. Oh and shitty spotters never help.

    I'm a Cruiser lover so this is great, however, if the goal of the vid is to compare all these fine vehicles then I feel having the same driver for all runs would be a much better choice.
    You can't really compare without that...
    (But I might just be salty because I'm an LX owner and expected more on his run)

    The FZJ80 is by far the best vehicle of the bunch and it is not a true "Rock Crawler" it is designed as a true overlander..overland... Now the FJ40 AND OR Bj40 is a true crawler..
    This LX 100 is a get the family over the ski pass rig and it struggles in the steeps and rocks. IFS is No good.

    Doesn’t LC100 have a standard center locker just like the GX/PRADOS?

  • @CACressida
    @CACressida 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Early 100s like this 99 has a 2 pinion front diff which are weaker than later model 100s. Also, locking the center diff would've made the LX470 drive under its own power.

  • @LimitOfN
    @LimitOfN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I have an LX470 as well. You can see on all of attempt 1, he hadn't given Atrac enough of a chance to lock the spinning wheel. He might have been feeling the vehicle backtracking and letting off the throttle just a second or two early. A trac requires the sensors to detect spin before engaging. I'm surprised he didn't break his front diff on attempt 2. What was his tire PSI on these runs? Looked like he could have gone a bite lower.

    • @LimitOfN
      @LimitOfN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Now that I've watched the video, I see that indeed, the front diff has been blown.

      Yeah that LX470 has so many accessories, not even seeing/accounting the inside it's probably already overweight just with the bars work.

    I am the original owner of my 97 FZJ80 with 327k on the clock.. and NEVER getting rid of it. I live 500 yards from the beginning of the Rubicon.
    The trail in this video I would complete in the highway gear L 4H and never putting it in 4L or engaging the center or front or rear lockers.... Childs play..
