Sorry to hear you say that. I've just convinced myself to buy everything they have recorded. I just want to support them, and hope, dearly, they can make a living off their talents. I don't want this to stop.
@@saraclefstad2404 I wouldn't say never 😉 but yeah: The Neighbors Song (Live @Pickathon 2012) is one of my favorites while the album version I find kinda meh :/ (I'm sorry!!)
I have no words to explain the awesomeness that is your band. I had the pleasure of seeing you in Philly and got to meet Bridget. I'm 53 but acted like a schoolboy. Don't stop making music. Each of you brings a part to the table that makes your band unique. Not just the voices or instruments, it goes deeper than that, I wish you all the best!
My favorite part of the song might be that Rachel said she wrote it after thinking, "look at what mistake I'm making now" while eating a handful of chocolate cake in the back of their van.
Their harmonies are ridiculously tight, so effortless....just started getting into this band, have seen probably 12-15 videos of them playing and singing live, and I haven't heard a bad note yet, vocally (or instrumentally, for that matter)
What the hell is going on? A pop band that can actually play...intelligently, skilfully, soulfully. Great vocal harmonies, seemingly effortless interplay. The individuals are great...the whole even better. And they all understand what few do...less is more. Not a superfluous note, nor a rampant ego.
+Jo Cera Indeed it doesn't. Bridget is a killer! And it gives them a unique 'tight looseness'. But unlike most jazz musos they have far greater pop sensibility, far less musical ego, and they respect the song.
Wow, another unbelievable performance by this incredible group. I cannot believe I'm about to say this, but I have to ask Bridget maybe consider lightening up just a tad on the right hand so as not to get the string buzz and slap that happens a bit in this tune and becomes a wee bit distracting from the otherwise pure tones and tight, tight, tight vocal harmonies.. To McDuck, you have amazing control with the horn. I find it amazing how you can keep your volume limited with just the right amount of air flow. You are a master, sir! Thank you for not overpowering. To Rachel, your vocals and delivery are so AMAZING, I'm speechless. You go down SMOOTH E V E R Y T I M E ! ! ! To Mike, like McDuck, your control and touch on the skins is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Your snare in every song is soooo sweet sounding, your fills are tremendous, your vocals are pure and powerful, you are a RARE talent. To Bridget, you BLOW ME AWAY with your execution on the upright and your sweet, sweet voice. THERE ARE TIME WHEN i CANNOT STOP watching you perform for an ENTIRE video. Do you understand LSD, I find you REMARKABLE!!!!
***** I'd imagine that she's going hard on the right hand so that the bass can be HEARD, though I can see a pickup on the bass it kind of looks like they are all just playing 'unplugged'
I love the string buzz, and the semi slap bass sound. To me, it's just another part of the percussion, making up for the lack of a bass drum. There is no way Bridgette can do anything wrong. Actually, none of them have any musical shortfalls. The absolutely best. And that's from a "singer--songwriter" folkie type Joni Mitchell / Bob Dylan fan. I have spent hours and hours listening to them on TH-cam for free. Tomorrow I'll go out and buy everything they have on CD. I just hope some of that money gets into their pockets. I want to support this excellent music.
real cool - hadn't seen this LSD vid, before. recorded in basically my back yard, too... Levon Helm - was so glad to see him play with The Band 30 years ago, too. Don't get over-produced, LSD - you're doing fine.
Love this band so much waiting for the great day when they come to Chicago. Wonder if this song is about the lead singer's relationships? Cuz if it is...wowzas!
Definitely circle the date. I've seen them three times this year, and I just bought tickets for two more October shows in Philadelphia. They are tremendous.
I love this song. I hope it's this stark when they record it. For me, it seems their producers add too much crap. These kids write songs designed to be played live with minimalist arrangements. And they fill in all the empty spots beautifully - be it a cool riff or gorgeous background vocals. With LSD, less is more. That's why their performances and live studio videos are so much better than their produced songs.
Looking forward to a studio version of this. It is ALMOST perfect. Just a few random clicking noises I'm getting. Don't know what caused that as the musicians seem flawless. ???
Rachael's voice makes me make the funniest faces of pure pleasure.... Take with Amy Winehouse, mix it with a little Norah Jones and 3/5th's Billie Holiday... Unbelievable
I've been a professional audio engineer in the music business for 25 years and I must agree with the comments below - the sonic quality of their records is terrible! 'Fun Machine' isn't too bad but 'Bad Self Portraits' is downright unlistenable. It's such a shame because I LOVE THIS BAND!! They are one of the best bands I have ever seen in all my years in the business. i much prefer to watch this video and 'You Go Down Smooth' on Colbert (which is AWESOME!). Now if I could only get a great version of 'Seventeen'. If anyone from LSD reads this, hit me up - I can help you.
Nice recording. Band (well Rachael) has made some polishes since first time I heard it. Please don't over mix this on the next album ;) KISS is great IMO
I love you all. Favorite band and I just saw you at Bell's Brewery in Michigan and it was amazing. I featured this video in my daily ART BLOG! Thanks for signing my arm! I love the music but hate that scammer Susan Wojcicki pausing my music playlist and spamming me with endlessly long commercials to upsell us all on TH-cam premium apps. Boycott TH-cam premium apps and boycott TH-cam advertisers!
Am I the only one who enjoys their jam sessions in random spots , more so than the cd's?
No. Their recordings never do them justice.
Sorry to hear you say that. I've just convinced myself to buy everything they have recorded. I just want to support them, and hope, dearly, they can make a living off their talents. I don't want this to stop.
Quite a pity, right? But they're awesome live on stage as well! Not the first time I experience such a thing.
@@saraclefstad2404 I wouldn't say never 😉 but yeah: The Neighbors Song (Live @Pickathon 2012) is one of my favorites while the album version I find kinda meh :/ (I'm sorry!!)
Love Mike's minimalist drum kit. They find the best outdoor spots, don't they?
Harmony to die for! No synthesizers, digital bullshit! Music from the bloody soul!

One of the few bands I've ever seen that's actually better live than on a recording. They are quite amazing.
Yeah no doubt. They sound great.
My favorite part of the song might be that Rachel said she wrote it after thinking, "look at what mistake I'm making now" while eating a handful of chocolate cake in the back of their van.
The songs were always right on time 💚
it doesnt even make sense how good they are
This may be my most watched video on TH-cam. Every time I need to reminded of how great music can be, I come here. Thank you Lake Street Dive.
A Prairie Home Companion brought me here, and thank God 🙏
I can't get enough of this song. Couldn't find it on Spotify. Please try making more of this stuff! :D
Have just watched this 5 times in a row. Lost for words. Astoundingly talented group. Incredible song.
Their harmonies are freakishly good!
This is a band that does not give a fuck what they look like because their music is so good.
Their harmonies are ridiculously tight, so effortless....just started getting into this band, have seen probably 12-15 videos of them playing and singing live, and I haven't heard a bad note yet, vocally (or instrumentally, for that matter)
How can you not love them
That is one of the things I like about this group, they play in non conventional locations which adds to there distinctive sound.
PURE AWESOME Musicians One of the best Bands ever
I would have died if i was out in the effing forest and saw them perform this song...
This is the best comment by far!
Hey buddy !!!!
You made me go listen to this song Roch
Sigh, how beautiful.
I just fell in love with this band!!!
I love all these videos with the original band.

Joseph Armand I know. Amazing isn't it?
+Jo Cera Indeed it doesn't. Bridget is a killer! And it gives them a unique 'tight looseness'. But unlike most jazz musos they have far greater pop sensibility, far less musical ego, and they respect the song.
+Joseph Armand definitely gestalt! sum greater than all the parts added up

What an amazing talented band. They are a gift for our souls...
Brilliant!
this is one of my favourites videos of all time. and i just saw that this was recorded on my twentieth birthday.
Wow! Before landing on the song's final "Mistakes" title. Very nice.
I've seen this live so many times... it still amazes me the huddle they have going on!!! Fabulous
Favorite. Song. EVER!
Wow. This is gorgeous.
Just amazing! Each of them is so talented and they weave together perfectly.
Sounds like the song is singing you all now. Great space to be in. Love it.

Real music. Why can't this be playing on my local radio station?
i love it
love it
I am trying to figure out why this doesn't have more views...
This is probably my favourite song of theirs and it not released anywhere for purchase.
Why won't you let me support you?!
They're putting out a new album next year so it might end up on that.
Before releasing albums, they tend to test them for audience reaction during live performances.
Love this band so much waiting for the great day when they come to Chicago. Wonder if this song is about the lead singer's relationships? Cuz if it is...wowzas!

NO!!! She said it start being about eating chocolate cake alone with your bare hands, and I'm not even kidding...
All I need is a blanket, a beer and some friends...

monstrão memo
sometimes there's a dock behind them, other times it's not there...mysterious!

Very very nice. Did me a bit of good. Gus UK. x

I agree - LSD please don't overmix it on next album!
no cooler sound than a bass string against a fingerboard.
If there was no one there to hear this in the forest would this have really happened?
This is REAL music..... Not that studio manufactured BS you hear on the radio.....I don't think you'll ever hear Lake St Dive using auto-tune!
As I would have liked to listen to this girl with Jaco Pastorius
style
Look at what Mistake TH-cam is making now. Your bose studio session won't play. But i like this one better anyway.

They’re so underrated it’s not even funny
