It's so great to see such a tight band playing beautiful songs with classy, wayback old school stylings done in a fresh, unique new way by performers dedicated to getting it right and saying what they want to say. That's what great artists do - they capture their time in their work by taking classical foundational things and bringing a new, unique, personal take and sound, if it's in music, a new look if it is in painting, drawing or sculpture. I think "Making Do" is one of those timeless songs that capture a period - this time so perfectly as to be a song that should be listened to 100 years from now - and more. ...
The voice of this woman is a revelation. Adele wishes she has this. Lake Street Dive is a great band. Rachael Price is an otherworldly singer. How she didn't hit is beyond me.
Totally agree. Soulful and the band can flat out play. I never heard of them. Commenters don’t come for me. No shade. she has more range than Adele and most of these singers that have mass pop appeal.
Man the voice on this gal is magnifico! I heard this song at a restaurant I went to today. New restaurant, new song... Lucky me! Both are now on my list of favorites! Awesome music!
Saw these guys in Bristol U.K. before all the recent pandemic did it’s best to destroy most “normal” activities including going to live concerts. Things seem to be returning now hopefully I’ll get another chance to see LSD in U.K. again soon. Sadly “McDuck” won’t be there but hopefully the rest will be. They are all brilliant but Bridget…..oh Bridget …. what can I say great backing harmonies, fabulous songwriting and bass playing off the charts Thanks to all of you
I listened to this show on my local NPR radio station and it was Dynamite....so being able see them perform AFTER I heard them is a Double Scoop of Delicious LSD With Sprinkles! I listen to World Cafe at 8 pm weeknights on WCBE in Columbus, Ohio! Cheers Gang
I can listen all day, You guys have come up with fresh goods again! gotta download and listen driving my harley to keep me in good spirits around terrible drivers. lol
Whats interesting is that I've been watching so much of LSD, and they always use this same studio to sing the song, in different outfits! I wonder how many times they've sung hypotheticals already? must be in the hundreds.
You all sound Great here. Live you have a better sound here. The vocals are full of air and openness with dynamics, with none of the resoey graininess that I hear on the Flac file I just downloaded. I dig what I got, but you may have a problem. Namaste
Literally the same band but with the addition of the keyboard. Rachel also plays guitar, McDuck plays guitar and trumpet, and Mike has always played the drums
@@okonh0wp He retired from the band in June 2021. They did a couple of big send-off concerts with him, which were also live streamed. I believe several video clips from those nights are on TH-cam.
@@Tom70s that is upsetting. guitar instead of trumpet takes away everything else that's great about the band (sans Rachel Price I agree). In no other band can I hear the awesomeness of the bass because the guitar drowns it out
My new favorite band.
Yes, I think it's going to be mine too, they are incredible
I flew to San Diego, from Mexico (where I live) on my birthday to see them live. Best birthday ever.
So born in '64 and an eclectic you folks have risen to my top 10 fav...
Thanks and well done.

Expressive, dynamic, warm, heart-wrenching. Everyone in the band a skilled musician and listener. 11/10
These guys are incredible. My best friend told me to check them out. Im glad he did. It proves there is still such a thing as good music.
Great music😃
I take that back! They are not just a "nice band". They are a Great Band!! Love her voice and such real musicians! 🎉❤
The voice of this woman is a revelation. Adele wishes she has this. Lake Street Dive is a great band. Rachael Price is an otherworldly singer. How she didn't hit is beyond me.
I need more... I become an junkie of LSD😜💯
I need that on a t shirt yesterday

Why compare Rachel to Adele. Totally different.

Rachael Price- vocals
Bridget Kearney- bass
Akie Bermiss- keys

Just saw them tonight in Charleston S.C. great
Talented musicians. Great music. It's all a music listener wants.

The ending actually gave me chills. Amazing performance JB and symphony!

Just stumbled across them a few days ago, and can’t get enough! Sharing with friends far and wide!
Similar to you. Just got on board a year ago. And shared with friends. They say I have a band crush.. and they are absolutely right!
Wishing you the best of future endeavors McDuck!
Captivating! Thank you.
Our pleasure!
BRAVO - love y'all - good luck at Madison Square Garden - 2024 .... M Sophia Santiago in Spain - FAN GIRL
Great set! I've been away for a while ... and the guitarist seems new. Incredible control of that gutsy Tele! Great band all 'round. :)
McDuck founded the band. He has left now though.

Thanks for listening!
Very innovative and pleasant, well written and executed. I love it!
Your singing is beatiful
Ya lo dije pero tengo que volver a decirlo. Ustedes son Magníficos, magistrales, interesantes y de paso divertidos..👏🏻💯🍀🍀🍀🍀✌🏻🌈🙂

I love this song so much. I love this band! But I have to hear this song at least once a day.
Such a awesome groove 💙 great music makes me wanna dance thanks for the luv an energy u all give me 💙☮️👏👏💃💃💃👏
Always amazing
These girls and boys are the talent in its superlativo.
Human expression and harmony while doing that.
I can listen all day, You guys have come up with fresh goods again! gotta download and listen driving my harley to keep me in good spirits around terrible drivers. lol
Wonderful. I love you folks.
Marvelous simply Marvelous ☮️
Nice band!!❤😊
This is mixed really well....congrats!
they’re so good!
The 80s vibe on this album is so good.
Lovely,...as always. mmmmmmm.
"what do I tell my baby girl, leaving her with half a world; that 'we could a done a lot'?" 😱
Gets me every time.
i thought they were just an amazing cover band. There's so much more to this band.
When i heard this girl for the first time .speachless.i do not care beauty .but voice.she is.bless her .
WOW!
TIGHT!
What a PETFECT WAY to wake up!!!! THANK YOU DEVICE LAND!!!🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
Very moving. I like this
Love it!
Great set!
Love those lyrics for "Being a Woman is a Full-Time Job." So many great one-liners! The guys were good sports to play along.
Damn I'm feelin that rhythm
LOVE these girls and boys....SUPER talented! Thanks for sharing!
I like it!!!

Rachel Price, I love you!!
Ima huge Lakehead!
Love this band. So sad they cancelled their Austin show earlier this year :(
So what genre does this fall under? Kinda jazz or adult contemporary maybe a bit of soul mixed in. Definitely cool
Calabrese knows how to count off a tune! 👍👍
Turn up the Bass! It was slamming on the tiny desk concert!!! Just some more punctuation y’all feel me!?!
👍👏👍🥰❤
Are you still playing at Red rocks sept 2021?
If yes, I will be there!
Oh man, I hope so. I'll be there too!

This is how the album should've sounded.
Does anyone know where this was recorded?
It looks like Studio A at The Bunker Studio.
it’s a mistake not to them live!!
I hate people that make skill and talent look so easy.
Only 2 left from the original band it looks like. I miss the horn but still great.
Wrong . Only change was the keyboard player. The trumpet player also plays guitar. They are great !
Literally the same band but with the addition of the keyboard. Rachel also plays guitar, McDuck plays guitar and trumpet, and Mike has always played the drums
Mcduck is leaving in December I believe. They announced it. Go check it out.
Same folks plus one. Good addition. Great band, maybe the best.
Rachel's looking a lot like Chelsea Clinton here😊
Great chemistry 😎
the only problem is that i only like the band when the guy is playing trumpet. if he's playing guitar it's a typical band
He is not in the band anymore, and I don't think the new guy plays brass. Still, typical bands don't have Rachel Price.
@@drkellymac since when did he leave the band?
