    G'day Nick & Pop, I real enjoyed your presentation with collar and tye and vests that helps for the customer. Gives a real clean look, and they want some one who is showing respect as a owner driver. God bless you both on your travels.

    Miss my heavy haul days. My heaviest load I have ever carried was a 105,000 pound grant block. Plus a 23,000 peterbelt plus a 20,000+ trailer.

    the reason i like your video is a lot of people dont know the issues a heavy hauler have to deal with. haveing drove a 5 ton wrecker in the Army only but no professional commercial driving this videos are very interesting to me.

    You and the other long haul drivers have a hell of a job! I own a heavy haul company in Idaho. I have a 7 axle set up, and With my black route permit I’m good for 150k. 70k per tri axle. I could never get that personally, I can get 66k each group. It’s insane how different states have different laws

    I don't have much remarks other than to say that is one impressive rig. It looks as strong as it is.
    Nice concept attaching the "oversized load" sign to the front of the truck.

    Maybe one day all 50 states will have the same weight regs and trucks can run more axles. Seen video of European heavy haulers with those trailers with steerable axles and New Zealand trucks with twin steer front axles. Cool and interesting trucks.

    Hi there Nick & Pop from me down here in NewZealand... damn shame about the tarp getting ripped with the fan blades popping through, but I would have thought that the factory / shipper would have used more than just a thick cardboard to cover the blades as from what I have been told they are extremely delicate and the slightest damage can cause balancing issues and also if the blade is deformed enough even end up scratching the housing that it is placed inside of, so more care on their part would not only save your tarps but also protect the blades from potentially very expensive repairs as well... but those are just my thoughts.... Keep up the great work guys and keep driving Kenworth..!! Kind Regards, Carl.

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would certainly think they would take that into consideration, however most companies don't give too much thought to how things are transported. The cardboard was pretty thick, and it wasn't that the blades poked through it, it was that it actually slid down..so, they could definitely have done a bit better, but they made a valiant effort I suppose. Better than when we have to show up and tarp these with the raw fan blades exposed.

    I hate deadheading. I will call around my usual suspects to see if they have *ANYTHING* to take in the direction I am heading. I have several freight locator apps that I can use to find something. Even if it's just a few hundred bucks, at least you're getting something. And good luck driving Michigan in the winter with their frost laws. You cannot haul jack shit in that state. If you do happen to get lucky and score a special permit, you will pay *dearly*. Nice setup you have and you seem like a real level headed pro. Not many like you left.

    That really sucks with happened to your tarp,i know how you feel,it should be repairable though,any good tarp maker would just section it out .just depends on how much the tarp is worth i suppose ,but we used to cop shit like that all the time when we carted hay back in the 90's.i used to do casual for a tarp maker here in australia and we were forever doing repairs and custom tarps.nice talking to you any ways ,shiny side up bro.

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It kinda makes you a little pissed off when you initially see the hole in the tarp, but at the end of the day, the tarps cost very little money in comparison to the money we have made in the loads that we have used them on. It's all a cost of doing business. I learned to quit taking torn tarps personally lol.

    Cool Video's!
    Q.) Is a 48ft. flatbed trailer better than a 53ft.?
    Q.) What's the advantage of a 4-axle flatbed over an RGN trailer?

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching!
      A.) The difference I suppose, is what your over all length is. When speaking about the stuff we haul, very rarely is it one single piece that takes up the entire trailer, so 48' or 53' doesn't really matter. At times a 53' can be beneficial in reducing the total overhang you have off the trailer, as well as gives you more space to work with when trying to position a piece properly.
      A.) Weight. Our empty weight is significantly less than that of a comparable 65t RGN. Secondly, the amount of deck space. Your average RGN has between 24-29' of loadable deck space. We have 53'. That can sometimes be all the difference in the world.

    • @dannesito304

      from what i saw the license plate was hanging and the sign will be the same exact measurement as the bumper. All he has to do is flip it over.

      I usually run in state, mainly equipment. But I do love y'alls flatbeds. What is the total capacity for the 5 axle ignoring law? And can you sting it? I'm running an oil field hrn that's good for 100 tons, assuming I have a jeep and a stinger

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ignoring law, we could get upwards of 150,000 on the deck of that trailer. It's so stout. But, given the states we run, we'd never be able to permit that legally.

    I'm just askin here man, no offence here just never seen it before, but why are u all dressed up as a trucker???

    • @awd4g63ix
      @awd4g63ix  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah. It's our way of showing that we go 10 steps further than anyone else they'll encounter. Could be considered a gimmick, I suppose, but it works for us. Secondly, we hope to raise the bar a little bit. Trucking will never be a white collar job, but at the end of the day, if a few more drivers better their businesses by dressing nicer, then we've left the industry a tad better than we found it.

    Wow .. Your support of Law enforcement ? Really Bro ? Would that be the law enforcement that gun's down unarmed American's Or the Law enforcement that kill's the family dog while in it's own front yard ? Hey Pal I would have a whole bunch more respect & support for Law enforcement if we weren't being scrutinized to the tenth degree each time we step out our front door .. Now if they were to hold Wall Street up to the same scrutiny they would certainly have my support & respect .. But it appear's they have NO interest in who is actually looting & plundering the American people into near poverty which in fact has directly led to more harm to more American family's than ANY & ALL public sector crime's & DWI's in the last 100 yr's .. They got Bonuses for committing the biggest Heist in American history while we can't get down the street without a seatbelt on without instant Law enforcement attention .. So NO Bro.. I'm sorry ... I don't respect Law enforcement and certainly DO NOT support them ..It make's me sick to think you will see a kid under arrest in the back seat of a patrol car for stealing a candy bar from Walmart But the Banking cartel can loot the nation into poverty and they not only get bailed out with tax payer dollar's but are allowed to keep the Bonus check's they handed eachother while they did it ...Make's Me SICK to my stomach
