I have an S20 FE 5G, and I've noticed that the adhesive has come loose on the top side of the case, near the sim tray. Thanks to your video, I know that's not where the battery is, so my issue is just mechanical. You made the repair look easy, so I'll keep this in mind if I decide to reseat the case myself. Keep up the good work.
Great video! I am a nooblet when it comes to electronics repair but I was able to follow along and replace the battery on my Samsung S20 FE. It was a lot easier than I anticipated. There was one extra cable that I had to undo that is not in this video but it was no issue. Thanks again!
I'm nervous in doing this battery replacement. All I'm doing is unsticking it from it's places then putting it back in, as a test for the note 9 and s9 battery replacements I'll do in December
why did you need to replace it? The S20fe was released in Sept 2020. You replaced it in July 2021 according to your comment. Did it lose capacity so quickly?
@@maythesciencebewithyou I dropped my phone and my original battery began to bulge. I replaced that battery out of safety concerns. Replaced battery with OEM battery I bought on eBay and have not had any issues since. I replaced the battery myself because it was going to cost about $250 to have a repair shop do it or a long time off I sent it in to Samsung. Replacing the battery myself cost me about $70 (bought a repair heat plate and the batteries were $20).

I would be so fed up I would break the phone. Loved the video but I’ll pay a professional to replace my battery. I really I had the patience for this.
@b.entranceperium Yes, I know. I've been doing all phone repairs for my whole family several times over. This just takes a bit longer that's all. But I bet most people don't do it by themselves. They pay for it instead.
Phone works after replacing battery which is awesome. Unfortunately the speaker doesn't work. Probably missed something with wiring. Not sure what to do next or where speaker is exactly
i have this phone and it just turned off and wont turn back on again, could it be the battery thats the problem?? because it was working perfectly fine until it just froze and turned off and wouldnt turn back on🙁
How do I know if replacing the battery is the only thing needed to repair my phone and no other problems are present? My battery does not charge using cable charger, and does not charge using wireless charger. So I cannot turn it on and I have a lot of photos in the internal storage that were not backed up elsewhere.
Samy bottom speaker has been busted for 3 weeks at this point in my s20 fe. I already replaced it with another one. It sounds better, but the music is severely lacking in volume. Voices are ok. What should I look at the next time?
I have dropped my s20fe and now its frozen screen is ok just the back cover has cracked and must of damaged inside the phone. Is it something you can repair?
@@Richard-ps7ht Seems like you have a bad LCD, for the moment you can charge from a wireless charger. FIrst needs to open the phone to see issues, then as per your description, we can try with a new charging port and a screen.
This phone also has Magnetic Secure Transmission support, which likely also would not work. MST is a major reason I'm still keeping my S20FE so I wouldn't remove that lightly.

In some devices removing the existing glue is quite impossible. There are ways to do it, for example using alcohol. But a working screen can have issues. So it is fine, but regarding the waterproofing, if you need preserve it, please go with the service centre repairs.Other repairs can't keep it. It needs proper machine work.
I’m not recommend this if you’re not a professional. In my case, battery adhesive is really strong even heat can’t make it easier to pull and I end up accidentally puncturing into cell when trying to pull it off and almost burn my house.

I remember when Samsung just let you take out the battery on their phones. How I miss those days...
Yeah good days
Yes, they reeeeeally don't want you to be able to do this by yourself.

Don't ever let Apple and Samsung make cars! You will need a heat gun to open up the hood for a simple washer fluid refill...

Do i need to reset cycles or smth to make it work as new or just replace?
Should clean up the old battery adhesive using isopropyl alcohol.

Thanks for video. After battery replament, it necesary to recalibrate or make some software comands, for the phone to know you have put a new battery?
No need to do anything. It is fine

Could i use isopropyl alcohol as opposed to a heating gun to remove the adhesive from under the battery?

Hello! Is the S20 FE battery the same as the regular S20 batteries? I need to purchase a replacement and it seems our local only stocks S20
It is not same..
What about waterproofing? My service centre informed me that you need to change the front display as well for waterproofing
Is the adhesive you used 1p68 rated?
You can’t make the device waterproof by using adhesive or glue.
