Remember when you could just drop the phone on a desk and the battery would pop out? My old Galaxy S4 Active could do that...

My old Galaxy S4 has a user replaceable battery, and yes, the battery has been replaced numerous times. It's a shame that the S4 is too old to use in 2021, due to lack of app support for Android 4.x.

@@user-bp8yg3ko1r You can't make the back cover waterproof and feel premium at the same time. You'll loose one of those, tbh I don't mind in built batteries considering it's gonna get replaced only once or twice in it's lifetime anyways.

If they would use high quality plastic like on Lumia devices, it can feel premium.
The Galaxy S5 is water resistant and has a removable battery, for example. It's only made out of cheap feeling materials.
And considering that most people will use a case anyway it doesn't matter that much and would make the device more affordable, more durable and overall more comfortable to use with one had because of its lighter wight.

The removal of the conductive charging coil and NFC is completely unnecessary. Just disconnect the connector from the primary PBA, remove the screws from the bracket and speaker assembly, lift up the speaker assembly to expose the screw under the NFC and conductive charging coil and you're good to go, keeping it all in one piece so the removal of the pad doesn't damage it during repair.
