Who's here after Tatum won a ring?
Me
I’m no Celtics fan. But the Celtics have a really good set of players. Tatum doesn’t need to carry the team. Just play along the system and get the best results. He doesn’t need to always try to play hero ball.
This I agree with.
Preach 💯
Definitely!
Every champion no matter how great, has always needed their franchise star to take over when it matters
Exactly.
As annoyed as i am with tatum you could honestly do worse. When he came into the league he had a lot of knocks against him--his lack of a 3 point jumper, his preference for ISOs was way worse than he was as a pro and was seen as a selfish player, and his defense was suspect despite having all the tools to be a good defender. 7 years on he is regarded as a great outside shooter, a plus defender and averages like 5 apg. He's come a long way.
When you look at his numbers on offense and he's a good defender people just love to hate
It's absolutely great to have him on our side. But, as the saying around here goes, _We only hang Finals banners._ Meaning, Celtics don't want their stars to be good... we want them to be *great.* We also want them to play team-oriented basketball. Some of us older fans believe Larry Bird never took a play "off." (He may have, but we don't remember it.) We don't like it when JT occasionally plays _matador_ defense.
Worse for me, though, are his ISO "hero ball" tendencies. I can feel the offensive rhythm collapse whenever he does that. For some teams, the chance to stand around and catch your breath while one of your stars does this is welcome. That's not Celtics ball, though. We love hustle, ball-sharing. He denies us that when he decides he needs to be our savior.
Finally, his shortcomings could be way more forgivable if he had a more amicable personality. Or a sense of humor. (Bird had more of the latter, less of the former.) He looks like he wants to crawl out of his skin during interviews... like he doesn't want to talk to us, and hates interaction with the public.
He still finishes at the rim with his head down like he’s playing little league
He shot 43% his rookie year?
@@joellikespubg2132coming in his shot was weirder then it was now and he wasnt regarded as a shooter coming out of duke. when he came to the league. he slightly changed his jumper and became a better shooter😊

Ngl Tatum might be polarizing but hopefully winning a championship will silence all the slanders towards him.
Imo it will only be fully silenced if he wins FMVP as well. If it goes to Jaylen or someone else it'll keep coming
@@AjaySharma-tg1jc That works too.
I just dont like his body language nothing wrong with it but for some reason it pisses me off
It won't at this rate he look like 3rd or 4th best player on a good team so hope for some competitive games so he can prove something
@@sodalangstson9438 You say this, but if you watch the games, youll realize nobody on the Celtics gets the defensive coverage he does. The rest of the Celtics thrive because he literally gets the Steph Curry treatment. He didnt have a perfect game last game, but i only attribute the bad to like 2-3 turnovers and the one bad shot to end the half. Other than that though, he was excellent. His teammates left like 5 assists off the board on wide open shots he created due to HIS gravity. Brown/KP dont see this kind of coverage
As a Cs fan, it’s been so fun to watch JT grow into a superstar over the years.
I understand why people root against the Celtics, or against Tatum, but I honestly am still surprised that there’s so much slander against him as a player. He probably has the highest expectations on him out of anyone in the league outside of anyone who’s won MVP before, when he’s accomplished so much in his career so far and is still only 26. Hoping he gets his ring 👌
Strange how JT is expected to win a ring and Luka being around the same age gets praise for scoring 30 and losing game 1. Embiid was the mvp and no ring and he had superstar pieces around him his whole career. Watch as the narrative shifts and all the same people we say “we told you he was that good all along”
@@sebastianlessard7546it’s not strange at all. Tatum has had a stacked team since he’s been in the league..
@howsittastes the only problem with that narrative is you failed to take into account whether it was HIS team during his first years or not. The time for when it actually became his team was in 2021, you could make a case in 2020 but people were still evenly split between whether it was him or JB's squad during that year, meanwhile 2021 was when he officially took the driver's spot.
@@howsittastesI agree Tatum has had good team mates. And as a Celtics fan I hope they win a ship. The expectation can’t be on one player that doesn’t even make sense. The same people that debate if JB or JT are the #1 option also say JT is expected to win a ship without a word of JBs expectation. Probably casuals
No... He hasn't lol
Last season and this season are the only teams that were anywhere NEAR "stacked"
Tatum is fine and he is going to win his first ring in this finals series.
He will win a championship and still be underrated and over hated
I was a fan of Tatum ever since his rookie year. Coming from a Bulls fan…
I remember that ECF dunk on Lebron and knew this kid was a beast
Bulls fan started liking tatum after he dunked on lebron lol I don't blame you
The dude is 26. Lebron didn’t win his first until 27. I think Tatum is doing just fine.
*Here’s the problem with Tatum* -not only has he been blessed with great teammates, great coaching, and a great front office from day 1, but his game is also not flashy enough to impress the casual viewer.
What saves him is playing on one of the marquee franchises in sports.
_If for whatever reason Tatum is unable to win a ring, he will simply be a lighter-skinned Paul George._
Paul ain’t go to the finals
Buggin
Bro you yapping air he surpassed pg13 career. Tatum resume is already impressive at 26
Yup
PGs Pacers ain't expected to be good. Tatum's Celtics is a championship contender since he was A rookie.
It’s crazy because he definitely wouldn’t have had his career start like this if Gordan Hayward didn’t thanos snap his ankle in the season opener
Ha?
Yeah in retrospect that injury turned out to be a good thing for Boston because it set the stage for Tatum.
Hope the celtics win. Al horford finally wins a chip. Porzingis finally proves his greatness. Tatum defines his legacy as a superstar. Jaylen brown left hand finally has a ring. Jrue holiday 2x champ. Derrick white's value is recognized. Brad stevens ncaa and nba champ
Thanks Andy!! Great video as always!!
Tatum been getting a lot of disrespect recently? 3x all nba. Give him his flowers. For me he is the 6th best player in the league.
Who would the five above him be?
@@fortynights1513 As a Celtics fan, id say Jokic, Giannis, Luka, and I can see why someone would say Embiid or Shai or something but for me he's probably 4-6 spot as well because of his reliability and the things he's shown me in the past. I know what his ceiling could be
He has his flaws, but people take it so far that he doesnt get nearly enough credit. People are constantly shitting on him saying hes not that guy, and yet, you see him getting double/triple covered all of game 1, and the rest of the Celtics dont get that defensive treatment so they get easy looks or the hockey pass for a wide open shot
Not even the best player in his team🤣🤣🤡🫵
Wow, you look stupid
This is the way you evolved to communicate?
“All NBA shot chucker, who chucked his way in to 3 all-NBA 1st teams” 🙌🏽 Who cares if he missed more shots than he made in those 3 seasons. His team let him do it, and made up for his mistakes ✊🏾
Better Player: Luka
Better Career(So far): Tatum
Tatum is on the perfect team for his skillset. He doesnt have to carry every single game and can take over to have his Kobe moments.
Tatum needs to work on his in-between game. It’s no reason a guy like him shouldn’t be cash from there. It’s been my biggest gripe about him. The consistency and efficiency might go up if a large diet of his shots weren’t contested 3’s
I agree he needs something in the middy area that’s consistent because the fadeaways aren’t reliable
Tatum came out of college with the best mid range shot of anyone in the top 10.
He still has a mid range shot he just refuses to use it, it’s exactly why he gets hate from Celtics fans. He would rather settle for 3s.
He also has the ability to drive to the basket but again he doesn’t have a killer instinct so he settles for 3s.
@@82dupont I mean he’s been driving more this year with a lot more intensity. I unfortunately started watching like 3 years ago so he looks completely different here in these older clips. If he used a straight up stop and pop middy he’d be unstoppable. Like the shot nembhard likes to take and shai. But idk if he has a quick enough first step? Ya he has the body of Gianni’s just 2 inches shorter. He should be the wrecking ball and jaylen should be the finnesse player but it’s the opposite. I didn’t know he was lethal in the mid range in college. Why doesn’t he try to create the same type of middy he used to create in college in the nba? Why does he settle for the fadeaway? Is it laziness? I’d imagine it’s tiring to drive through 2/3 guys every drive, and still defend at a high clip… idk basketball is so interesting and there is games inside the game like when do I assert myself? When do I “look to create? I think he’s doing a better job facilitating than he gets credit for but you’d like to see a more reliable shot from your best player. I just hope he can find his shot.
Tatum had a shitty 2nd year because of his pull up jumper in the mid range. He kept settling for pull up jumpers even though he had a driving lane to attack the basket.
@@LeGoat-23 fadeaway middys or stop and pop middys?
As a Celtics fan I have a lot of gripes with JT (Full transparency I bought his jersey mid-way through his rookie season, I’ve been a believer for a long time). The thing that’s the most frustrating is his inconsistency, he’s almost never the type of guy to show up exactly when you expect it. You can never count on him for a specific moment like you would with, say Luka, because it seems that his performance depends on what side of the bed he woke up on that morning; it’s not dependent on what he did last game, what will happen next game or what’s going on this game. One thing I noticed from watching Luka and other superstars is that when they shoot it always feels like it’s going in no matter what. With Tatum it always feels like he’s gonna miss unless it’s at the rim. watching him play gives me sometimes the same feeling you get when you’re driving and someone next to you does something you don’t expect, you’re basically at their mercy and you have no idea what they’re doing and what’s going on in their head.
Wtf r u talking about Luka absolutely sucked game 1 and was horrible in the clipper series lol
Just say you don't watch basketball lol
People keep forgetting that Tatum played in the pro league at age 19 while Luka has been a pro since 14.
To be fair, America doesnt just let teenagers leave mandatory schooling to be pros
U can’t be a pro in America as a teenagers
You must be 19 to be drafted and play professionally in the U.S. unless the NBA G-League Ignite team selects you to play for their team. 🏀
Tatum can become best player in the league if he dominates right now through the rest of the series and wins finals MVP Sith like 40 pts a game or something with some key shots and defensive shots
His obsession of Kobe made him look soft. I really like him earlier in his career. I thought he will be Paul Pierce 2.0 but he is soft. (But not as soft as Booker)
Another banger 🔥👏
Tatum has already competed in the NBA with the most rounded roster in the league. All of the Celtics starting lineup players are offensive beasts and are all capable of nabbing a 30+ point game which is amazing. As such, Tatum's prowess was trumped by his teammates' consistency.

To be fair, the Tatum/Brown duo's first Finals appearance was against a very experienced Warriors team. Considering how young these two are and was able to achieve a consistent play off run (2 ECF championships) is a good sign this team has a good future. Comparing him to Luka is just absurd since Luka never won a championship as well and he and Kyrie are literally carrying the Mavs team. While Tatum does not have to carry his team coz they have 7 talented players.
Honestly, there is no player to compare Luka too imho. That kid is on a next lvl...
@@monsterdragondeluxeunless he plays defense..lol
The Celtics offensive rating goes from the best in the NBA, 123 when Tatum is in the game, to 105 when Tatum is on the bench... Which would be 28th best in the NBA lol
Tatum has ALWAYS HAD WAAAAAY MORE OF AN IMPACT ON WINNING THAN DONCIC WHOS TEAM HAS LITERALLY BEEN BETTER!!! WITH LUKA OFF THE COURT THAN ON IT MULTIPLE SEASONS
He's not even a top.5 player in the NBA lol
@@monsterdragondeluxetbh Luka really needs to pay more attention to his defense. It was shocking last night.
He played with so much heart during his rookie season. Since then, I've never seen him play with heart anymore. Not sure why or what happened. The talent is definitely there he just doesn't have the heart anymore !
I'm thinking that when you play 90+ games a year for seven straight years (he AND Brown almost never misses games) you have to make sure you conserve energy to make it through the whole season in one piece. There is not very many players who have done this the last ten years or so. That is why he is already so high up on many records lists. Most other stars have stinker seasons now and again and goes to Cancun in April to rest.
He has also been playing FIBA basket a couple of times even though he has had long seasons. He will do that again this year in the olympics. He is still young. But he is also human.
But people forget the Ben Simmons of the nba past #1 picks over Tatum. They talk so highly of embid but the guy can’t get past the 2nd rd.
Not to mention Embiid has never beaten Tatum. Not once.
Simmons was drafted ahead of Brown, not Tatum. But yeah, media were glazing over Sixers potential with Simmons and Embiid. And Simmons winning ROTY despite not being a rookie anymore, lol
Sixers fans use Simmons as an excuse for Embiid 😂😂 Ben was amazing for a couple of years and then his back and his team turning on him sent him spiraling. Sad stuff for him
I have been watching this dude since his first game as a Celtics. This guy improves every single year in different aspects of the game. What is more important, he accepts whatever roles that his coach wants him to play. When you have a star player like this, the team has a very high flooring. You can pair him with any point guards or any centers and they will be a contender team no matter what. He is the type of player that can have positive impacts regardless of his shooting efficiency.
What you haters will never understand is he gets doubled every game and he makes the most of it and makes his teammates better. If you want him to force it, and get 35 and going 12/30 from the field, that ain’t it
He’s definitely going to go in the hall of very good players don’t worry
Nobody is worried about ur 🤡 asss takes lol
I think people just hate him because he’s a boring superstar but he doesn’t deserve any hate
@@cameronrhea4988 HALL OF FAME YOU HATER🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

All this talk is absolutely hilarious. Boston wins in 4 games. Tatum is an unbelievable talent.
U we’re wrong
In 2022, I knew the Celtics were not going to beat the veteran Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals. The Jays were carrying the load, and we just didn’t have enough offense. The role players at the time weren't consistent, and the team wasn't ready for the moment.
Fast forward to now, we go back to the NBA finals. This time, we have more scoring and experience, and the team is ready for the moment.
If Tatum needs some inspiration, he needs to look up to Dirk. Dirk was well-known for being a playoff choker before his 2011 win. In the end, if Tatum continues to win, then people will forget his current and past issues
Nobody is saying that Tatum needs to carry, but we’re not gonna congratulate his progression when his shooting percentage is garbage and he has 5+ turnovers
Is Tatum hopeless? And his team wins the G1 by 18 points?
How hopeless Doncic must be if, as the leader, his team lost by 18 points.
@@jakubnowicki6183 nobody said he’s hopeless? His team has been winning in spite of him not because of him
He’s arguably the 5th best player in the NBA.
His shooting is worse than you’d think and he isn’t the excellent passer the guys you’d want over him are.
Outside of that, he’s an excellent rebounder, an incredibly good versatile defender, and gives you 25+ on most nights.
Take it all together and you’ve got a consistent All-NBA player who isn’t quite MVP caliber but has had 3 rough playoff moments that stick in peoples minds although he did get injured in Game 7 of the Miami series in 2022-23 when the Celtics probably would have made history so he should get a pass for that one.
I’m glad you mentioned Tatum Idolizing Kobe, and how it’s the reason he takes poor shots. That’s why I personally hate players that Idolize Kobe and try to play like him, because the fact that you’re okay modeling your game around a guy who missed more FGs than any player ever despite not even playing that many full seasons compared to other players who missed a similar amount of FGs, it shows a disgusting level of ego that I would never want in my star player. Players like that force contested shots while doubled rather than passing to the open man in the corner, and they lose games for their teams. They get all the credit when they win from casuals who don’t realize a guy shooting 30 times a game is almost always going to score the most points. I hate this modern NBA that Kobe started, where we praise “Star players” for shooting 36% FG just because they dropped 30. In today’s NBA a player like Tatum can go 11/27 2/8 3 PT, then go to the foul line a few times and get praised for scoring 32 points, it’s actually gross.
Tatum plays absolutely Nothing like Kobe lol
Take your casual 🤡 asss to bed 🤣

Also the only knock I have on him is the lack of aggressive drives to the rim. No need to be a finesse finisher at 6’8 220
I swear he is lebron with opposite effects
Tatum always reminded me of Paul Pierce in the sense that he has sneaky athleticism but is more skilled than anything else.
Narrative always kill the popularity of the player. Mostly this because of the shity media that we have right now. No! Even back in the days if you are not attractive enough or not on their taste buds they will always find a way to tarnish or bring you down.
I blame the media for this. Shoving him into audience’s throat for being the best young player, top 5 player when his shooting percentage, clutch performance and inconsistency doesn’t speak on it. He was bailed out a couple of times by his teammates. Imagine Luka, Jokic or Giannis chucking and bricking shot like he always does, their team would be a in the playin at best, while for them they’re still a the top.
Playing in the shitty conference and series win w/o opposing best players doesn’t help his case too.
absolutely agree that Jayson Tatum gets punished for the Celtics organization putting together a great team.
Tatum is good but he plays for a super team in a weak conference is easy to hate. Expecially this year he just getting second hand Celtics's hate
This aged well, didn’t it knicks fan?
As a celtics fan, let me just say he's a great player. But he's the 3rd option on this team. And I think this game 1 showed how things truly are. He should be used as a play maker for other people. And if he can get the turnovers under control things will be much better.
Was he the second option when KP was hurt?

Bro, he's been leading our team in almost every stat this entire season and playoff run.
Stop it.
Those Kyrie and Haywood teams were so deep and talented even with a young Tatum and Brown on the roster
The Celtics currently are better than ever and consistent contenders so hopefully they can win the chip so Tatum doesn’t get the label as a underachiever
If only he had brown heart and consistency.
Imo Jayson Tatum is a new Tim duncan. He's so good all around nothing really sticks out unlike Luka, Jokic, Giannis even Embiid to certain extent. I can even argue that he's not a scorer because of his inconsistent scoring he's more like a elit 2-way player.
Shooting 12-38 and having 10 tos in two games stands out..
Tim Duncan is one of the most respected guys in the game ever and consider a top PF of all time. JT will never be either.
JT has been nothing but class and hes way overhated. This team is poised to win since they are a team and not led by just one guy.
It's probably because Tatum isn't great at one thing and is more of an all-round player. For instance, Luka is an elite playmaker just like LeBron. Jokic is too. Steph is the best shooter. Tatum on the other hand isn't a great athlete and doesn't have much lift. His finishing at the rim reminds you of Melo. He's a good shooter and he's a good defender. Now that the novelty has worn out and he's in year seven, people criticize him unfairly.
While a lot of the criticism is absolutely unfair. I would have thought Tatum would have develop his shot making to a elite level by now. He'll never be a explosive rim finisher. So hitting tough jumpers is what his game revolves around. The problem is his accuracy on these shots is kinda bad. Teams want him to drive a lot of the time knowing he's going straight to the rim if he doesn't shoot a 3. And when you top that with his inconsistent jumper. Its only a matter of time before he slumps from 3pt and starts to look like half the player he should for stretches.
Greatness ain’t a cookie cutter box that certain people fit in. People wanna say he’s not top tier because he doesn’t play or win like players we’ve seen in the past. Tatum is top 5 right now and when it’s all said and done, if he doesn’t have any serious injuries, he’s gonna be a top 20 all-time great.
Thats exactly why people kinda hate Tatum because he is getting overhyped because of his team. Yes Tatum is probably a top 6-8 player but he is definitely not top 5 and I would say never was. Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Embiid, Shai are definitely better and I would still take LeBron over him and someone like Butler in the playoffs or hell even Kawhi when healthy. I just dont see how he INDIVIDUALLY will be top 20 all time.
“top 20 all-time great” is crazy. Tatum should be viewed as a star along the likes of Dononvan Mitchell, Zach Lavine, Derozan, Paul George. Are those players great? Yes. Are they top-20 all time? No.

When the title said : Polarizing Truth.
The problem with Jayson Tatum is not his box score stats, just look at his shooting. His shoots at a low percentage for a volume of shots and wildly misses close shots around the rim for his size. He goes for style points emulating Kobe Bryant rather than just squaring up his jumper. He kept throwing long bricks even though he was cold. When you look at efficient players like Jordan, they pace their game and look for their spots and get a feel for the game. No movement wasted, no fancy dribbles. Just fundamentals. If Jayson Tatum stops clowning around, focuses on fundamentals, paces his game well without overreacting or panicking, then he will get into that next level. Right now, Jaylen has that. You don't see Brown forcing the game to come to him.
Tatum is just as effecient as doncic lol
While being 10,000x better on defense
I think the narrative for the NBA and what fans and media hear is really good players on just "good" teams. Luka, Shai and Ant have been credited and appreciated for outstanding individual numbers, while tatum has been in the league and has made the playoffs every season on a great team.
With a roster that talented that can play well day in day out, it diminishes individual performance. Everyone on the team has stepped up towards the benchmark tatum set on that team, especially Jaylen Brown.
Hating the team is fine, but hating an individual that is performing well when he has made more playoff appearances than other players of his caliber is insane. Even the best players have off days. We've seen it through history. But everyone just wants to rip into Boston players of this generation because its just a "thing" to do. Its like when everyone hated Nickelback in the early 2000s even though nickelback where just a band doing what they love.
Jordan had to improve different aspects of his game while learn to trust his teammates and he had to wait till Pippen & Grant grow up together. Why no one talks about it?? Good that you point this out as most fans and media do this crap and never give him the credit.
Well to bad for the haters he’s getting that ring 2024 Boston the champ maverick’s can’t stop Boston only if kp is out yes but if kp playing it over for the Dallas I smell swept
I think a big reason he gets so much flack is that Celtics fans often put him in conversations he doesn't belong in. He's undoubtedly a top 5-7 player, but Celtics fans list team success as a reason to put him above players like Luka, Giannis, Embiid, etc without acknowledging how crucial his teammates were in achieving that success.
He’s outplayed embiid every time they played in the playoffs wtf y’all just love to hate Tatum bro dropped 50 game 7 while Joel choked I agree he’s not the best player but y’all underrate him if jokic Giannis or Luka did that y’all would glaze them
The problem with Tatum is that he's an amazing 2nd option, but comes up a bit short as the 1st option
Yeah after the 2018 playoffs, I thought he would become a number 1 option for Boston due to his playoff performance as a rookie, heck Boston has higher expectations to fulfill after 2018 due to the core players they have

The Mavs should double Jaylen brown. He’s there true number and make him go left. Tatum will most likely crumble and when he sees that the opposing team chooses to double team his teammate over him, it will get into his head and he will start to spiral.
Why would they double team with all the shooters they have
lmfao
Mr.National Team since high school
For some reason reminds me of the how people blame OKC KD back in the day. Tatum is in a better position, and they are going to win this year. Being in a position like he is and he tasting that type of success put a lot of fan and media pressure in their superstar to get the job done. Sadly, i think Boston have not earned that ring yet because of Boston management, Miami and Indiana became relevant again before Boston got the last movements ready.
He is soon a champion
And that's unfortunate for his haters.. 😭😭.
People bring up the Celtics know how to build good teams because people are tired of the media trying push Tatum to the top 5 players in the league convo. He’s not on that level
What do you call the player who leads a good team in PPG/AST/REB?
what do you mean he us better them emdid & shai only guys above him is giannas, jokic, & luka
@@justtimes9257 He even outplayed Giannis back in 2018 and 2022
@@justtimes9257 Steph is better too and Lebron is right there with him I think Embiid may be a little better too. Shai has more moves but I don't think he's better than Tatum but right there
@@mrmillennium2697 Steph can be better because he completely missed. The playoffs in LeBron got sucked in the first round and he doesn’t have the same level impact he used to and he’s not even close to the level of defensive player that Tatum; I will give you that she has a little bit of a better mid range game but all over offense of game no and plus he’s not even close to same defender; or top 10 players in the NBA at this part of their careers and I put them in the top five
Tatum is amazing player. And he is a team player, which is even better, but not so exciting for the media that wants "heroes" etc.
Cause people are obsessed with ideas and hypotheticals over the finished product
Tatum is going to be up there when it all said and done
people know it and thats why they gotta bash him now, so they an be pissed their whole lives, not just later on
YOu expect people to sit around reading stats to each other? how fun is that. look up his shooting percentage last game start there
1:20 Derrick White is missing! smh
People expected him to be next nba face, but he seems doesnt care and avoid any statement he's superstar. Still people are crazy for hating for no reason at all.
If the Celtics do win it all with him, then more power to him.
But those who don’t think he played enough of a role as an individual player will probably continue to say that he hasn’t proven himself to be one of the top few players.
As a celtic fan my issue with Tatum is the fact that for a player of his size, he settles for far too many 3's. He'll either shoot the 3 or drive all the way to the paint with his head down. There is no in between lol. Like dude where's your mid range game? He literally should be unguardable but he let defenders off the hook
Are you really a celtics fan? lol Asking where his midrange game when you didn't even watch his sophomore year.
Its a good strategy. It is just enough that tatum draws two defenders. I still remember last year when the whole team collapsed when tatum got injured. Now, opponents will worry about jaylen. KP, even white and horford when spurting on the outside
Who surpassed Tatum that entered the league after he did with less hype? Luka is the only guy that came in after him and he was very hyped up, he just had louder detractors like myself that didn't think his game would carry over.
He’s subpar.. he lacks that aggression
When you actually watch the games you see that often times in crucial moments, Tatum resorts to a more passive role while Jaylen Brown attacks the basket and gets buckets in transition. For someone with his frame, Tatum doesn’t do much damage in the paint. He has improved rebounding and decision making but Brown seems to be the offensive catalyst. Tatum often scores while his team is already in the lead, causing his stats to feel inflated. Still a great player, but not elite.
As a die-hard Celtics fan, it pains me to admit, but I must concur with your assessment. It's perplexing how he can simultaneously exhibit moments of brilliance, such as his pivotal performances in Game 6 against the Bucks in 2022 and his record-setting point tally in Game 7 versus the Sixers last year, yet struggle with consistency overall. I'm inclined to believe it's largely due to his mindset and the immense pressure he faces to consistently excel. However, when it comes down to it, my ultimate priority is securing the championship, regardless of who emerges as the standout player
Luka and tatum are both hunting for their legacy..both players have been great early in their career but people been complaining how they haven't win anything.. anyone who wins will change their image massively
The flak comes because he bills himself a generational player (see his recent videos) but hasn't lived up to his own hype. He's a great player ( perhaps superstar). I would put him a tier below guys like Steph, Lebron, Kobe, Shaq, MJ etc. At this point in his career.
He'll have a difficult time trying to convince people of his greatness if the celtics continue to boast the teams like this one for years to come. There's argument to be made he isn't first team all-nba. Just appears to be because of the players around him.
same as Durant at GS, I would chose (as Tatum) to give Brown finals Mvp and won championship and Tatum know about it
JT know his team and his role, they're there to win it all as a team. Still a big fan of him since his Duke days. #0
Nuts that he’s only 19
I mean he's gotten criticism, but not near as much as Brown last year lol. Like Brown was pure ass.
I for one am seeing solid growth every season. Watch when tatum is 28-29. He will be MVP caliber
Celtics were going to pick tatum first overall but the lakers were set on ball and the 6ers wanted fultz so they traded back
This is Celtics year, they have to win it all, if not Tatum will receive the same hate like LBJ did it after failing to win first year with Miami and being 0-2 in the finals. 🙏🍀
I’m confused, Tatum hasn’t done anything notable…?
That’s just ignorance
What ???
Why do you pronounce *a* as "aye..." and *the* as "thee...?"
I wish Boston wins this Championship
Tatum used to be my favorite player but He tends to disappoint me Look game one in the finals very mediocre For a superstar With six turnovers
i will never understand a player averaging 25 10 5 in the playoffs isnt good enough
I hope this would not jinx Tatum's finals run! Let's go Boston!
He seems like a nice guy but that's the problem I think. He doesn't have a dawg in him like Kobe or Mike. He try to emulate them all he wants but he's not a killer.
Imagine if the 76ers got Tatum
I have no problem with Jayson Tatum. Without him, No 18th Banner. Its a team sports.
7:15 sometimes it’s Al Horford
Tatum the only star who can constantly put up nic batum numbers and win games
Found the guy that doesn't know ball
Didn't know Batum averaged 20+ PPG in the playoffs
thats crazy Batum led his team in points rebounds and assists for a playoffs, id take that
Jayson tatum already has an amazing career in his rookie season unlike Fultz. He almost got the rookie of the year in his rookie season if they didnt sign hayward or kyrie he would be already the franchise player since the start not Kyrie and Hayward as both of them didnt pan out.
The next week will change his life
For better or worse
