Is Messi won of the best ever? Yes. But Messi is not the goat. Has never been and will never be. Messi, just won his first world cup. Pele won 3 world cups and his first at 17 years of age. Even Maradona was better than Messi.

    • @kiwipick
      @kiwipick ปีที่แล้ว +23

@@Miblive winning 1 world cup didn't make messi the greatest. Winning the world cup on top of what he achieved and what he showed consistently on the pitch for 20 years makes him the greatest.

@@Miblive Pele play in mediocre league all his career against semi amateurs. Many players in those league during Pele times was doing football as a side job . They didn't even have yellow/red card and offsides rules yet ffs.
And no, Pele didn't win WC 3 times. Brazil win WC 3 times in his time. In case you didn't know, there's 10 more players in Brazil team 😁

The crazy thing about Messi is even with all of this, He is still humble. Never called himself the best or even good. Every time a reporter asks him a question relating to his greatness he changes the subject and starts talking about his team. you never see Pele, Maradona or Ronaldo ever do this. He is a great man that is worthy to be part of the history books in schools for the future generation.

I can assure u in his prime noone was able to stop him without committing foul or making him bleed. His prime was 2009 to 2013, then again 2015 to 2019 and again this 2022 he's back in form. In 2012 he scored 91 goals in 68 games and all 11 players combined of big clubs like Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich scored less goals than him. noone in the history of football has scored more than 86 goals in a year and Messi scored 91 which is unbreakable. 2009 to 2012 he won 4 consecutive ballon d'or which is basically the most reputed football award given to the best player of the year. He currently has 7 ballon d'or (favourite to win 2023 ballon d'or too), 6 golden boots, 5 iffhs playmaker awards and 2 Worldcup Golden Balls (most awards in football history)

6:58 The best defender and the beast goalkeeper in the world at that timepoint back then, both beaten...
He´s short, trying headers against much taller players, who jump much higher, is often senseless, but works still, sometimes...
AND has dedicated each single goal to his beloved grandma, in heaven (looking up and pointing to the sky after each goal...)

  • @duskse
    @duskse ปีที่แล้ว +11

it’s considered a weakness because he’s left-foot dominant, so the video highlights his greatest plays with his right foot that isn’t used much. messi is also 5’7 which is below the average height of football players, most of them are taller. being taller means having a advantage of getting the head on the ball so it’s quite impressive to see a guy like him score with his head. plus the whole strength thing with him being short, he does a great job still holding possession of the ball, but it’s clear that it’s hard to because of the roughness he goes through.

  •  ปีที่แล้ว +6

As a FC Barcelona fan, born and raised in Barcelona, seeing a lot of those plays live has been something to tell your grandsons... I don't think there will be a player like him in generations...

That video is old. He has 7 balon d'ors and eyeing #8 after winning the World Cup (the big missing piece in his legacy) at age 35. He also since won the Copa America with Argentina as well. Two major international trophies. Recently won the French league title with PSG.
He is also the all time soccer assist leader. So not just goal scoring but overall play making.
He will be second all time goals sometime in the couple months trailing CR7 by ~25 goals but in 140 fewer games as he is a couple years younger.

Messi sets a standard; not just any standard - THE CEILING. Whenever he gets the ball, everybody expects something spectacular - the audience, his teammates, the opponents, everyone. Everyone who watches his games will be able to tell you what it's like - when he gets the ball, the whole stadium goes into a different mode. You can see the hyperfocus and stress in his opponents' body language. They close him down immediately, usually with two or three players, and he will still manage to get out of the situation 9 times out of 10 and creates something.

I am from Argentina, and been playing Football my whole life. One thing you need to understand about this sport, is how difficult is to control the ball in 1 touch, playing full speed, with fast balls and preasure of defenders..
Try to pay attention at Messi first touch and your mind will explode xD
For example, that goal he made at 4:32.. he received a 50 mts long pass, and he just make it look so easy

Even at age of 35, having lost a step, he still led Argentina to winning the World Cup, AND was named the Best Player of the World Cup! He's STILL head and shoulders above everybody else! If he had other good players around him when he played for Argentina, he would have been World Cup Champion a long time ago, but let's face it, to win the World Cup, you have to also have some luck be with you, so I still considered him the GOAT even without winning one world cup. The difference between Messi and other superstars is that other superstars do the same things as others, but better and more consistently. With Messi, he does things that no other player has done before...such as dribbling through almost an entire team! Over and over!

These videos are great to show you he passes the eye test. You can SEE how great he is... that's nice.. but a lot of players have passed the eye test before.
What makes Messi the absolute greatest are his stats:
7x Ballon d'OR (this is the world football MVP award)... and on track for an 8th. 7 is already the all-time record.
    12x Domestic League titles
    4x UEFA Champions League titles
15x Argentina Player Of The Year
    1x Olympic Gold Medal
    1x Sub-20 World Champion
    3x Club World Champion
    1x Copa America champion
    1x World Cup champion
    ... then the records:
Spain La Liga all time goals: 474
Spain La Liga all time assists: 192
2nd All-time goals across all competitions: 807 (31 behind Ronaldo, but he's 2 years younger than Ronaldo and they're both still playing). Maradona isn't even in the top 25 on this list.
All time most goals in a calendar year: 91
All time most goals in a single season (seasons are like school years Sept-May): 73
Longest gap between first and last Ballon d-Or: 12 years (maybe 13 this year).
Only player to win Ballon d'OR in 3 different decades: 2000s, 2010s, 2020s.
Longest goalscoring streak in a domestic league: 21 matches in a row.
Only player ever to score 40+ goals in 12 consecutive seasons.
... and these are just SOME of the accolades. If I gave you the full list I'd be here 2 hours typing shit.

i adore that ua really understand, how only Messi does these things,he makes people look silly,he just plays super diffrently than any other player ever, and that is a fact, noone plays even similar to Messi, most of the best footballer ever were saying that Messi was best evr at 19,which is ridiculous if you think about it! football players peak 24-30 Messi was best ever at 19,Puyol one of best defenders of all time and of Barcelona, said that Messi didnt even have to train with team,or have any roles,he was just allowed full freedom n the field at all time. Becuse he knows best better than coach better than anyone.

You ask what dso you do as a Goalie....you do your best, but there arew times when all you can do is stand there and admire what he's done, knowing you never had a chance

Gotta remember that soccer is played worldwide and you don't hafta be a genetic freak to play it. Dude is only five foot six and yet he stands taller than..

Really, Messii not as fast as he was, Almost though. But now he really does more magical things. As amazing as his runs through the whole defending team were/are, His thought out and perfectly played goals of today are more impressive. An interviewer was just beginning to ask the coach of an oposing team that just lost to messii and before any question as the coach sits down to analyze the game with everybody he says "What a sltrike that was!? What a strike!!" And it isn't just his skills and goals. It is how he is so humble and honest and such a good guy through all this. Not like these big headed pr athletes we see all the time.

He is literally a human highlight you are very right at that, most of great players have 10 or 20 moments like those,Messi has 400 or more... Most of his goals and assist are one time in a life play for other players. Its not even close to the second best. He beat every single record, goals, assits, free kicks, most leagues on a club, 7 ballons d'Or and now Champion of the World... Just people which dont watch football wil argue he isn't the best

    👑King⚽Messi👑is only comparable to himself
No player in the history of the world has seven Ballon d'Ors like Messi and will get his eighth Ballon d'Or after winning three world championships with the Argentine national team, compared to Messi only.
