I'm pretty sure the longest shot in Arma 3 was by an ai using an AKS-74U with iron sights.
nah I had an ai medic one shot me in the face while I was in full ghillie suit lying down on the grass on a slight slope 1.5km away from the target, then a medic just said nope and smacked me in the face with a bullet from 1.5 km away, I didn't make a noise and was waiting there for about 10 minutes waiting for my friend to go outside (that's what you get when you only have 3 other friends playing arma and the rest are AI).
Mine was even better, shorter distance tho, one shotted by a running mashine gunner and his PKM from about 800m.

Not sure if there are mods changing bullet ranges here, but the Lynx has the longest range at 4,350m using the APDS ammo. After that the bullet despawns.
ACE3 mod allows you to enable munition rendering ranges much farther than vanilla. You can set bullets to render out to 10km and not see too much of a performance impact.

It doesn't matter how far you are shooting if you have to do so many tries. It's glorious and charming when you managed to hit with fewer tries, up to 2 tries I would say. If it was a combat, the target would've moved and the mission would be compromised.

trying to see if this actually is legit and it isn't, when i try to do a shot like that with the same rifle im zoomed in at 3km like he is and i have to aim so high up that you'll be shooting the sky, either its a mod which allows the bullet to travel super far without aiming super high up or its fake.

Cuz they made it so "user friendly". ARMA 2 was so fun and interactive because there was menus and multiple options for everything, with natural windage changes over long distances if you had the right mods or settings, map markings/hatches indicated ranges, etc. Every piece of your kit was useful. All you need in ARMA 3 is: gun, map (sometimes. If you're in a squad then only one guy really needs it), bandages/morphine-epi, and you're good. You hardly need a radio. You have the compass floating on top of your screen so there's no need to pull it up. It's all just too easy to use. It's not rewarding, which drove away the ARMA 2 scene, while draining its servers at the same time. It's near impossible to join a semi or even half full pub in 2 and also impossible to join clubs like ShackTac and stuff without 4 years ARMA experience and 1k+ hours. I think ARMA 3 will be the end.
