I love that you and Claude always keep his face hidden, it's really refreshing to see parents who have a social media presence respecting their child's privacy like this while still keeping content family-orientated.
Yes! I enjoy that he isn’t online all the time but we get small little glimpses of his personality. Helping put up his wall decals, knocking over the flowers. Such cute, sweet toddler moments but we aren’t in his daily business.
Agreed in a big way on this one. I get a little queasy when I see people on Facebook post and post and post about their kids, partially because it feels like their personalities get subsumed by parenting and also because you never know who sees those pictures - and what they can learn from them. Massive security issue. It's so refreshing to see parenting videos that keep the kids safe!
Rupert is so big!! I feel like everytime I see him in a video, he has grown so much! He seems especially playful and giggly in this video. Jessica and Claudia it's so obvious how happy and loved Rupert is - you two have done an amazing job
@@jessicaoutofthecloset wait! its already been 2 years? jee-loowees where on earth did the time go? hope u are having a blast with rupert and claudia and having a fantastic day. lots of love from scotland from a fellow person with scoliosis. and loves dresses haha
The fact you were willing to accommodate his request for his potty to be in his room is so nice to see. I'm sure there's plenty of parents who wouldn't want the hassle of having their kids small potty outside the bathroom. Honestly whatever helps your kid to lessen having accidents and just allowing them to have that small choice of theirs accepted and granted.
I love the gentle transitions. Like the small mattress to the big mattress, but then the big mattress into the big bed. Also, keeping clothing (so well organized too by the way!) for any children in the future is a lovely plan. Very eco friendly but also financially friendly. Kids love all the colors anyway! Edit: Seeing you and Rupert use BSL is extremely impactful
Can’t get enough of the giggling. Rupert is one of the happiest children I have seen. It is also great how inclusive you make him when doing tasks. He feels so safe when helping his mummies, especially when picking places to put the animals. No negative comments at all- Not there Rupert. It was wonderful to see.
I am so so happy you listened to Rupert when he asked to have a potty in his room. You know, as a former disabled child, pain can often make it hard to get up at night and having an accident is horrible. Even though Rupert is healthy I'm sure there are days when he feels unwell or things arent going right, and it's helpful for him to have that security.
Rupert's new room looks like a really fun place to be. Great watching him decide where the decals would go. The fact that he does ballet in the mirror is adorable ❤
Honestly Jessica, thank you so much! Your channel has really helped me over the years. I’m a bisexual teen who is also physically disabled, and to see you living such a wonderful life while still being open about your struggles has helped me to reflect on my own life! You and Claudia are such wonderful mothers too and it’s a joy to watch your family
I love how you encourage Rupert’s hobbies and interests, even the more stereotypically “feminine” ones like princesses and ballet. I didn’t have that same kind of support growing up so it’s nice to see
It's so strange to follow Rupert growing up. It feels like only a month since he was born, but also a whole age. He has definitely grown and is clearly a very cheery child! I like the blurring option now that he's more active and can't be easily kept out of frame :)
I love that you update his room with things meant for him as he is now, and taking into account independence. Also that you are saving the baby things to use for the next little one. A fantastic way to reduce waste. As a bookworm, the reading when we are supposed to be sleeping never goes away lol. I remember in elementary school getting in trouble because i was reading under my covers with a flashlight at night instead of going to bed. My favorite room i ever had was one where they got me a used armchair and i had my own reading corner. His reading corner is just divine! Love it!
Oh my. This video radiates pure joy! Can you explain why Rupert sounds FAR more British than either you or Claudia?! 😂❤️ I sincerely pray that the three of you understand the magnitude of healing you bring to our world.
It’s so wonderful and delightful to hear him talking and engaging so much! I seriously cried a little in delight, just from hearing his little giggles and comments, choosing where to stick the decals! What a precious ickle bab, I hope he likes his new setup!
What a great new room! You are both awesome at encouraging his inquisitive and independent nature. Good job Moms! Loved seeing and hearing so much of Rupert.
What a beautiful bedroom I cannot get over how cute Rupert is in this video! The way he says things in his little voice and his laughter warms my heart 😂 He’s so lucky to have parents like you, I’m sure he’s going to have the best childhood anyone could ever dream of. Also, get him ballet lessons ASAP!!!
Rupert isn't a baby anymore! I can even understand toddler, a skill thought I had lost. His room change is beautiful and I like that he had so much choice in it's decorating. Packing away the outgrown clothes made me a little teary, remembering when you were creating his wardrobe storage and then seeing him wear them. Time has gone by so fast. Blessed be.
HOW IS HE 2 YEARS OLD? You must have time traveled! Yeah, You've been on a time travel journey for the past few months and came back with Rupert 2 years older! I still remember watching video where you announced He will be born. It was so beautiful!
I am loving this bedroom tour! I'm pregnant right now with my first (and potentially only) baby and we are planning to set up a Montessori bedroom for our little Mr. Baby when we move to our new house (when he'll be about 6 months old). I love the idea of him one day being able to wake up and read books by himself 🥰.
I love the video! I want to try and incorporate some Montessori things into our house. We can't afford all new clothes for our first daughter, but luckily there is a second hand shop with many children's clothes near us. They know us now and usually give us most of them for free (so many clothes get donated). The new clothes she does have are gifts from family and friends.
Put it here, put it here! Rupert’s little voice is so cute! I’ve never been so obsessed with a child I’ve never met! His interests are just too adorable. And Jessica you are so right, clothes do not have a gender! And neither do toys or interests for that matter. I just love the way you and Claudia are raising him ❤
I adore how much independance he has already. You have convinced me to incorprate Montessori into the upbringing of my children when I have them down the track :)
Rupert is so well-adjusted and seems to love arranging his room. Has he shown interest in Winnie the Pooh or Beatrix Potter books. The stick ons for the wall looks Pooh-ish. Belated Happy birthday
I don't have kids, but find these videos so interesting. If i ever have kids i think i'd like to implement some montessori. Seems like such a nice way to encourage independence and developing their own boundaries❤
its so interesting to hear about and see how independent a little child can be !! one of my nephews is about 3 months off from turning 3 years old and seeing rupert makes me wonder how much of the difference between them is just personality and how much of it is because of how theyve been raised ? i love your montessori and general child based videos so much, thank you for sharing your beautiful family 🥰
I love that I just showed my spouse the nursery tour video, for inspiration in our nursery, and the toddler edition comes out. We are planning to move after/around their 1st birthday, so not so long-term plans for their space. We want a refrigerator in their room for accessibility for snacks and cold drinks, skincare, and breast milk storage and convince. The room was previously a break room for working from home and is also a guest room.
You can get the sleep sacks with leg holes just so you know! Helps minimize tripping. Had that problem with my daughter years ago until we updated😃 P.S We just had our second little girl. We named her Claudia. Inspired by your wife. Love your channel!
Yes, bed accessibility is important. When I was moved out of a cot, straight into a bed, and I had to literally jump into bed. The habit kept up until I broke the boards under my bed at like 17
Ooo! Little dancer over here! It may be too early to tell, but if he continues to love to dance, there is a dance school in hove called A2 Arts. I go there and i can really recommend! They are so wonderful with kids, nurturing their love of dance. Rupert definitely has an aptitude for it! Might be worth checking out Jessica!
I’m so impressed by his independence. I’m currently pregnant, and based on how well it’s working for Rupert, I’m thinking of trying some Montessori techniques! Will be rewatching some of your earlier Montessori videos for ideas!!
