    I went with a medium after trying them on.. the large fit so comfortable but I think it would loosen up too much. The medium was a little uncomfortable but I think it will break in…I hope 😀I agree with you on the neck pads being really weird

      Same here i was comfortable enough with the L but i was worried it will loosen up too much which is a no go. I went with M to which is tight and a bit uncomfortable especially when i take it off, it pulls my ears with those neck pads which is weird. How is the helmet treating you so far mate?

      @@cyclegearguide1493 after riding with the medium it was too tight. Lucky the medium has the same shell as the large. I kept the medium top pads and replaced the cheek pads with large and now it’s perfect. One thing I will say is the helmet is LOUD. You definitely need ear plugs for any constant speeds over 70

    I love Icon….I really like the looks of the Airflite. However why is my Variant fiberglass and the coolest model the Flite polycarbonate? I mean it’s almost perfect. Please consider a carbon or fiberglass shell with something like a Koroyb absorption layer. Give us a removable duckbill that allows the UV visor to stay on for long distance street rides. Icon is doing it the way we like, they just need to spoil us completely.
    Great demo video.

    • @renerodrigue3471
      @renerodrigue3471 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you are going to be in town with street lights it's usable, but if it is away from cities or back roads like where I live I would not recommend. I think that most tinted visors would fall into this category though. The visor removal system seems to be easy enough if that is something you do sometimes but I personally don't like swapping shields all the time. I hope this helps you with your decision. When you pull the cheek pads out, are they all velcro or does it still have the plastic bits that slide in? I have the first Variant and the plastic bits were annoying when mounting Bluetooth. The new Variant Pro is all velcro including the chin skirt...makes running wires easier.

      Yes, adhesive foam tape. But, I just want to make sure that I specify that it is a spoiler and no air is channeled into the helmet. Only other difference is the rubatone finish. I would recommend getting one of the versions that comes with the MIPS protection, personally. Good luck, be safe!

      The helmet is definitely awesome! I ride a naked bike with no windshield and use earplugs. I don't have any special testing equipment that measures dBs and I feel like the noise or lack thereof is very similar to the weight of a helmet. Both are subjective and so I'm going to leave that determination to the user. Maybe I need to fab up some type of booth specifically for this type of testing! Be safe!

      Dang it! I hate to hear that it didn't fit. I have had the same experience with some other gear myself. Who knows, Icon might address that with the newer models. I'm sure that while manufacturers produce different shell sizes the cost of also producing different shapes doesn't fit into their profit margin the way they want it to. Good luck, I hope you find something that you like and be safe!

    Way too heavy. Looks good but not comfortable. I went into cycle gear to actually buy one. Better helmets on the shelf than this.

      It didn’t feel heavy while riding and besides the pressure spots on my neck it felt comfortable everywhere else. I’m going to be reviewing the Airframe Pro soon which will give me more perspective on how Icon fits me overall. Thanks for the comments, stay tuned!
