There's an old trick that actors use to test if they are really listening/in the moment or just waiting to say their lines. If, when someone else is talking, you are holding your breath, then you are not listening and are just waiting to talk. Try it when you are with your friends or family or customers.
Absolutely love having Rob Dahm as the host of this show. He absolutely fits the bill in personality, completely understands the why of modifying cars.
Im soo happy for rob hosting this show. I really appreciate top gear for having him .. finally a car guy that understands the car community from all angles.
Seriously: Rob is the PERFECT host for this series. He built his garage and cars from nothing, as an IT guy he wasn't even a "car guy", set out to revolutionize the rotary engine and do everything step by step. With passion. And knowledge earned by himself. Rob is just that one guy who wants to make the world a better place... 😎👍
"It's your car. Unless you are saving it for somebody else, enjoy it". That pretty much defines the true car lover, not just the guy who has it at the garage for status or investment (sadly, the majority of owners nowadays). Rob is the perfect host for this show.
I never really watched American top gear. But if they're bringing Rob in mma start watching just for that reason. He talks about these cars with much enthusiasm like his own. 😄
This is the Top Gear evolution I can get behind. No - you''re not the same without "The Trio" - but being a long-time Top Gear fan, I can fully appreciate what you are doing with THESE specific videos. The presenter, the people, the cars - TG is reborn and it's brilliant.
Love this series! Rob really shows his passion and bring out mine just watching these! Love that for 5-10 seconds he doesn't say a word and just lets the car speak! The hairs on my arms and legs stood up!
I was obsessed with collecting ferrari hot wheels as a kid and the 355 challange was my absolute favorite. So thankful for modern Sims like assetto corsa for giving me a chance to feel like I have driven this beautiful car!
Goosebumps. Thanks. 💦 Rob is a pretty great presenter. Seeing the BBC of all outlets bridging traditional media and new content creators blows my mind.
This is going to be an amazing series. This was a great way to start it off. I waisted a lot of money on the 355 challenge video game back in the day but it was well worth it.
Love this guy , he is dead on to the point. Original air in the tires 😃. I think people take these cars to extreme and don't enjoy them. The owner is a very cool guy and fully enjoys them and that is why it's all about
Thank you Rob for that last message about saving the car for someone else, enjoy it! I have a 02 s2000 and it has 85k miles on it (put 20k on it myself) with 0 accidents. I recently hit a huge water puddle (ripped my bumper off but engine is fine) and didn't want to report to insurance. I think i will since my deductible is so cheap.
Really love the 355 Only drove it few time by chances, fell in love with the analog feel of 90s cars Drove tons of 458 488, yet my heart always comes back to 355 If I manage to get a 355, its really good from the factory, but it doesn't hurt to slightly improve it , rebalance internals stronger lighter valves and other parts , basically putting new technologies into an old engine that unavailable back then , slightly raise the red line to 9200rpm , modern engine management system, fuel system, coil on plugs, head jobs, harmonics and maybe bump up the power touching 400hp , not a big fan of big power but sufficient power The exterior is timeless, maybe some upgrades to led light to preserve the original body wiring harness , suspension brakes all slowly improve along the journey My ultimate dream car But don't forget there's another crazy f550 that worth some attention
Car has to be with the owner wants and not what society thinks is the "correct" I'm a fan of a friend of mine from Monaco, at this exact moment he's modifying his LaFerrari, and he already has F40, 275, Enzo, CGT, and several other modified exotics and very well used as it should be! I hope to one day reach his level!
@@Cre8Lounge Tasteful modification that does not harm the brand name is no problem! This friend of mine has been modifying his Ferraris for over 15 years and attends brand events all the time with no problem! This weekend they are at Ferrari Race Days in Mugello and have been driving his modified F40! Not the slightest problem with Ferrari!
All 355s sound wonderful! There was a limited-edition, Challenge-influenced street version of the 355 Spider built in 98 for the American market and known as the 'Serie Fiorano'. It got the Challenge suspension, wheels and brakes, and a few other bits. 100 came to the US and 4 more were built for Euro and SA customers. What I hate is to see a car like the F355 lowered, widened and fitted with outrageous aero, knowing that the mods just make it handle worse or slow it down. But the sort of enhancement in this video gets my vote every time!
The 355 is one of my all time favorite cars. I fell in love with the thought of an 8500+ rpm redline and just imagined driving one. This matched my dream of what it would be like. Thanks Rob ✌
i have a modified golf mk2. yes it would be worth twice as much if i hadn't touched it. but ive owned it 20 years and ive changed all the bits i didnt like and replaced with things i do like. from the outside to everyone else its still a classic looking golf mk2. but out on the twisty B roads its a monster that surprises cars way newer and more powerful. Make your car the way you like it. you're the one driving it.
This is one of the best series from Top Gear since the original boys were there. Rob is genuine and cares about the cars. Great job!! I’m looking forward to more!!
Great job!! You are preaching to the choir. As stated in this well-done video: The best way to experience many of these cars is in a manner that pushes the experience closer to the idealized version vs the actual reality. The best way is with period-correct modifications, imo, but I also agree "behind-the-scenes" upgrades like modern ecu's, tires, brakes, etc. are hugely beneficial.
I had a 96 F355 spider 6-speed, Dark Gray over Tan under my care for about a year or so ,and used to always take it out on Saturday. It was good times when I drove that car, and I still miss it.
That game taught me how to drive a standard. Many quarters wasted figuring out the clutch. And after I did hopped in my mom's escort at 12 years old and was zooming around the parking lot in just a few minutes. She was so shocked.
One of my favorite things about Rob Dahm is how intently he listens. He doesn't wait to talk. You can see his enthusiasm on his face just listening.
There's an old trick that actors use to test if they are really listening/in the moment or just waiting to say their lines. If, when someone else is talking, you are holding your breath, then you are not listening and are just waiting to talk.
Try it when you are with your friends or family or customers.
Really appreciate this comment. So much to learn from experts and professionals. I just enjoy listening and absorbing
Rob is an information sponge!!
Rob's probably taking notes for his builds! Well done. 😂👍
That's the amphetamines talking. He has a pretty well documented pill problem.
Absolutely love having Rob Dahm as the host of this show. He absolutely fits the bill in personality, completely understands the why of modifying cars.
Spot on. Was about to write a similar comment.
Yes absolutely fits the bill!
Man, how good is Rob as the host? It’s like he was made for the role. We love to see it!
Way better than tanner foust and those other clowns they had on top gear America.
@@coreysmithsvt Big difference between a presenter and a driver.
@@fredericoespinoza they picked the wrong person for the job. Rob Dahm wasn’t a professional presenter, but he does a damn good job at it.

I couldn't agree more
You guys need to keep Rob as a host. You can tell he is genuinely interested in the cars. Great presenter! Give this man the show!

He is great - not sure what he did to "revolutionize" the Rotary engine though?

Rob is the perfect host for this show.
I love how in every episode Rob is like - do whatever You want to Your car as long as it makes You happy.
Ferrari : I take that personally
Cant wait for more rob dahm content, they should give this man a show
Rob being the presenter just made this video perfect. Love Rob!
Actually before the 355 Challenge there was a lightweight, hard-core, track focused, street legal Ferrari V8 supercar, the 348 GT Competizione.
Just for that fact alone, you could be the host of this show
@@alexanderjackson2037 why it's common knowledge it's a shame the 355 never evolved past the "fiorano handling pack"
Yes but 1/2 the #'s of the 355 challenge- for a total of 50
Best thing top gear has done since the og hosts left, thank you guys
I never really watched American top gear. But if they're bringing Rob in mma start watching just for that reason. He talks about these cars with much enthusiasm like his own. 😄

Very happy to see Rob hosting! I’ve really enjoyed these episodes. Great match!
What a crazy project! This series is getting more and more exciting! That F355 sounds like a F1 car!
Modern F1 not old school F1.
Love to see these being used. Another episode just shows how well of a choice picking rob was
Yup, this ones hit the spot, just like the all the others.
Thanks Rob.

1hr travel special with Chris Harris & Rob Dahm, would be a very welcome breath of fresh air to the top gear series as a whole.
Fantastic message in this video, it's something I always thought of but could never put in words. Rob Dahm is seriously an automotive idol!
Rob is a phenomenal host, you just can’t help but smile with him!! His passion is contagious, thank you Top Gear for this show!
Having a resto modded 355 is probably my ultimate dream car.
There's a doc, at U of M in Ann Arbor Michigan with one of these. Everytime he comes to work, I'm thankful!
Hearing rob talk about enjoying the sound of a piston engine has me rolling in laughter 😂
That was acting 😂😂 jk I do enjoy them if they scream and rev to the moon

Amazing to have Dahm on the show , hooooly , feels so good, since im a big fan of his rotary stuff

ROB IS KILLING IT AS A HOST!! This is the content we need!
Rob Dahm, best thing to happen to top gear since a long time 🍻

Still loving the 355 styling to this day. Only the 458 can come close to it.
Im starting to like top gear again just because of rob. Big long time fan right here and they couldnt find a better man for the job.
The camera work on this series is just fantastic, really making the cars look wonderful, mystical even
I’m so glad Rob is hosting 1 of my fav shows, especially because he’s a real car guy
F355 has to go down as one of the greatest. The noise, manual gearbox. Never to be repeated.
Thanks a million, drew a huge smile just by watching it

I love Rob's contribution to Top Gear, I just wish that there were more shots with the car on the track, like Harris.
Rob seems like a cool guy and that blue F355 is a thing of beauty

It is sometimes surprising when you look at the speeds of certain fuel computers back in the day.
Oh the clock speed on this is 12 MHz wow...
I watch these because Rob gets it. Love your work.
So good to see Rob doing Top Gear!!
Today, sport cars are a dime a dozen. Sub 3 seconds 0-60 is very crowded. What makes the 355 different is beauty.

355 for life
Rob Dahm is one of the most likable guys in the industry. Never get tired of watching this guy talk about, and working on cars.
"If they could they'd have the original air in the tires" haha! That one had me rolling.
Another thing i'll change in an 355 is the A/C! Especially in the 3rd world. Best i did in it was 240 km/h on a public freeway and it was a blast!
Rob hosting ? I need more Rob this is great
There will never be cars in the near future that will sound as angry and sexy as the Ferrari F355...well done Rob!!!
Loving the new segment!! Wish it was longer
Love the blue and white combo!
I’m a little too old to remember the video game, but I’d still love to drive the car - what a beauty! To me, the ultimate Ferrari is the 288 GTO.
