You want to go to the historical park, NOT to Sukhothai city as then you'll have to get other transportation from the Sukhothai bus station to the historical park (yes, we're speaking from experience 🥲 )
In this Thailand Travel Vlog we finally make it to Sukhothai - the first ancient capital of Siam! We've already been to Ayutthaya multiple times, and many people told us to visit Sukhothai as well, but we couldn't find the time to go. Eventually we decided to take an overnight bus from Bangkok on Friday night to arrive in Sukhothai early Saturday morning, spend two full days exploring, and return to Bangkok Sunday night. Even in our packed weekend, it was so much fun!!
Sukhothai was the capital of Siam from 1238-1438 AD. It was essentially the beginning of Thailand! When Sukhothai fell, it was overtaken by Ayutthaya (the 2nd capital of Siam). If you like history, Ayutthaya is also an amazing place to visit and it is easy to do as a day trip from Bangkok (check out our Ayutthaya video here: • Our Parents Visit Ayut... )!
Sukhothai Historical Park is made up of different sections. The center, north, and west sections each charge a 100 baht entrance fee. While the east and south sections are free. We stopped by so many amazing temples including Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Chum, Wat Saphan Hin, and Wat Chetuphon! We tried the famous Sukhothai noodles - twice! And we were also lucky enough to arrive right before the alms giving at Wat Traphang Thong. Overall it was an amazing weekend exploring Sukhothai!

จริง ๆ ที่อยุธยาก็มีเมือง เมืองหนึ่งที่เก่าแก่พอ ๆ กับสุโขทัยครับ ชื่อว่า อโยธยา แต่ไม่ค่อยมีใครกล่าวถึง เมืองนี้อยู่ไปทางทิศเหนือของสถานีรถไฟอยุธยาใกล้ ๆ กับตลาดน้ำอโยธยา และที่นั่นก็ยังมีซากโบราณสถานตั้งอยู่ เมืองนี้เกิดก่อนอยุธยาหลายร้อยปีครับ เป็นเครือญาติกับอาณาจักรละโว้ และสุพรรณบุรี
นอกจากนี้เรายังมีเมืองศรีเทพอยู่ที่จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ ซึ่งที่นั่นก็ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งจุดที่มีร่องรอยของอารยธรรมโบราณที่เชื่อว่ามีการตั้งถิ่นฐานของคนไทยมาตั้งแต่ก่อนประวัติศาสตร์
ตอนนี้เรื่องประวัติศาสตร์ของไทยอาจจะต้องมีการรื้อและเรียบเรียงใหม่เพื่อให้ชัดเจนขึ้น และไม่ให้ชาติอื่นมากล่าวอ้างใด ๆ ได้เหมือนที่กำลังทำอยู่ รวมถึงเราต้องค้นคว้าเพิ่มเติมเพื่อยืนยันการมีอยู่จริงของชาวเสียมกุกที่เชื่อว่าเป็นบรรพบุรุษของคนไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ที่นี่มาช้านานครับ
สุดท้ายนี้ .. จริง ๆ แล้วมีรถบัสโดยสารที่สามารถนั่งไปลงที่อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สุโขทัยได้เลยครับ แล้วก็ก่อนที่ Covid-19 มีรถไฟที่สามารถเดินทางไปอำเภอสวรรคโลก ที่อยู่ทางเหนือของจังหวัดสุโขทัยได้ด้วย แต่ตอนนี้ยังหยุดให้บริการอยู่ครับ 😊😊😊
There’s so much history all over Thailand! It’s amazing!! Also OMG!!! I wish we took that bus that went directly to the historical park! We wouldn’t have had to sit at the bus station for a couple hours 🤦♀️🤣🤣❤️
Sukhothai (means Dawn of Happiness). The art in Sukhothat, especially the Buddha sculpture, are very soft, calm and sweet style due to only several wars during that period. It was peacful period. In the hall with big buddha, actually, you can get into the wall, go up with stairs and then speak out behide the buddha. It seems like the Buddha is speaking to you.

I heard that you used to be able to climb up behind the Buddha at Wat si chum, but it’s closed now 🥺 it would’ve been amazing if we could’ve climbed behind it! 😍❤️

Wow, this is the province where Thailand originated.
The unification of nations took place in this province. Especially the Loi Krathong festival started from here. Including the Thai language used today, it started from here.
There are small Buddha statues that antique lovers like to collect.
It was no more than a palm long. Its price is up to 5 million baht or more.

We learned so much more about Sukhothai after we went! It’s amazing that that’s where Thailand began! We would LOVE to visit Sukhothai for Loy krathong - I’m sure it’s gorgeous! We were actually sad there wasn’t any water in the lake around Wat traphang thong 🥺 but it was still so nice!

@@NataliesPassport Noodles in Sukhothai are different from other places. They like to put lentils in it. Many foods like to put yard long beans.
For amulets, collectibles and in perfect condition, some models may be worth up to 100 million baht.

sukhothai period is very important. the thai alphabets and the loikratong festival were created during this time. sukhothai noodle just refers to the whole dish. if we talk about the rice noodle ifself, chantaburi noodle is supposed to be the best as it has a soft and slightly tough texture (very good for pad thai cooking).
It's crazy that Sukhothai is so important in Thai history yet not that many tourists know about it! We had such a fun time there.
Also the Sukhothai noodles were amazing 😍 we love noodles! We'll have to try to find the Chantaburi noodles to try next! ❤️
I would recommend you to visit Sukhothai during Loy Krathong Festival in November of this year. Sukhothai is one of the best place and largest celebration since it is the birthplace of this festival. They usually starts the celebrations several days before Loy Krathong day around end of November. Threr're so many events, traditional shows & activities, night market, etc in the area of Sukhothai Historical Park. Hope you won't miss it. ❤️
We would LOVE to go to Sukhothai for Loy Krathong! 😍 I'm sure the celebrations there are amazing! We actually really wanted to head north for loy krathong this past year, but it was on a Tuesday or something during the middle of the week so we couldn't travel because of work 🥺 although we went to Asiatique in Bangkok and we still had a great time! ❤️

It’s Wat Chang Lom ( Elephant surrounding). The architecture got high influence from the Hasti Prakara stupa in Sri Lanka that Siam received theravada sect from. Wat Chang Lom is my favorite one in Sukhotai historical park.
It’s MooDang (red pork ) . The chashu pork you ate at the noodle local restaurant.

Actually Moo Deang is red because of some seasoning and herbs turned brownish or darker after a long smoking cooking. But thanks to the lack of knowledge of some people in nowadays they hear “red” word so they put food coloring in the process of marinating. 😝😝😝😅😝😅😝

Techniques for eating noodles or stir-fried noodles of Thai people That is, you have to cook the seasonings, sugar, chili, orange juice, fish sauce, chili, and it will be much more delicious.
Yessss - we didn’t add anything to our noodles. Although the second time we tried them (on the side of the road) I think they added a lot of sauces! They were so good 😍

Very interesting video, probably cover all temple 4th historical park direction, there actually another historical park in sukhothai up north call si satchanalai, that one are interesting too and a bit more tree green lush than this one, still like ur clip❤️👍

We didn't even know what Sukhothai noodles were before going to Sukhothai, but they were so good!! Can you order those all over Thailand?! Or only in Sukhothai?
It’s quite hard to find Sukhothai noodles in somewhere else but only the the noodle shops that say Sukhothai noodles in front of that shops. They’re quite similar to normal noodles but Sukhothai noodle got some different ingredients.❤️🤗

As of his FC, next time please visit a comfortable place like a beach or Kho instead , 😂 ha you may get fainted under 🥵 hot sunlight and smoke air.
