India is continent itself. Populatipn wise also and considering diversity factor. Dont judge India by just delhi, agra and jaipur. Its more than that.❤

Aww thank you! I felt kinda bad saying that, but I do feel like it’s good advice for someone visiting who also would feel ‘rude’ doing that in their home country. So it’s good to know Indians do it too! ❤️

@@NataliesPassport you gotta have a thick skin. Way too many people and way too many opinions, have to ignore most of the time. You will find people who would probably feel more at home with some white guy from US and you would find people who have never seen a foreigner in their life. You will find the most refined person and also the most uncultured at the same time 😅

One more comment I'd like to add here. Although everything has been explained quite well..India is generally safe but unfortunately, there are also bad or unsafe people. I wouldn't really suggest solo travelling but if anyone's still doing, just follow basic safety rules. Avoid unknown places, take proper transportation ( not the cheap ones) , strictly avoid selfies (it's the most annoying thing and I get ashamed of this as an Indian
I would never ever do it) and travel in a group. There are many more hidden gems in India like Kasauli, kodaikanal, Sikkim, Darjeeling, ooty, Munnar, Nainital.. Good places to visit. Thank you.

The level of harassment varies from state to state in India. South India is generally the safest where the harassment is generally limited to staring but will not escalate beyond that. Mumbai being more cosmopolitan and mixed with local Maratha culture where women tend to be empowered is also generally safe. The cowbelt states are the least safe where cultural attitudes towards women are terrible and a lot of men truly believe that that any woman who is out and about without male supervision is a slut who enjoys being raped. Delhi has a large influx of immigrants from rural UP and Bihar where women are covered up and kept at home. These immigrants believe that any woman not in traditional attire deserves it. With tourists the attitude is even worse. These guys watch western pornography, and think every white tourist is just like a porn star. This rape culture Is a problem that is very unique to India.

    I’m currently in Jaisalmer, India.
India is overall great, but my two major complaints are sanitation and noise.
If they fixed that, India could be one of the best countries ever.

There are so many facet of diverse country like India. I mean it would be early and too soon to judge a vast Continental Size Country like India. You know, the very same thing happened to me in Agra. Actually near the great mosque. I would recommend people to avoid that area altogether - I think I had read somewhere that this area should best be avoided by tourists but didn't remember in time. Didn't get any similarly bad vibes anywhere else in Agra and very rarely at all during our 4 week trip. Luckily we just could take an auto and get out of there. I didn't let that take away from my Taj Mahal experience at sunrise which is everything it is made out to be, in my opinion, and the other sights in Agra are gorgeous, too. Another negative point: In Agra of all places we picked up a stomach virus. So everyone heading to Agra: It really is worth the hassle but be extra aware of your surroundings and try to be extra extra safe what food is concerned. I have heard so often of people getting sick in Agra.

Travelling solo anywhere in the world, much less India requires a lot of courage. Doing the same in India, needs people who are not just brave but also smart and willing to be uncomfortable. You Natalie have achieved something incredible in these past 3.5 months. As an Indian woman, I myself aspire to travel solo one day, but knowing the horrific crimes that happen every minute and how unhelpful authority can be most of the times, always held me back. A scary amount of people lack civic sense and boundaries. But there is a fascinating unparalled beauty that is present in India that is still worth exploring and experiencing. There is a silent majority of people that is decent and always welcoming. You recognised that, took the challenge and ran with it! I absolutely loved watching your hill station videos, they were so relaxing! Thank you for visiting my country and giving a 360 experience. Hopefully someday we meet in our solo journeys around the world. Safe travels ❤!

Thank you so much for providing an honest and realistic review of travelling solo in India. There are so many videos portraying India being unsafe, unwelcoming & not for travellers especially solo female. I, being an Indian accept people here are not mature to let foreigners be at their own, and not to bother them. Trying to fleece them through various means, pestering for photos, groping etc are major concerns. Some major misconceptions prevailing about foreigners(ladies) being hippy, easy going & available have componded the harrasment. BUT 2 things you've pointed out should be the MOTTO of people travelling to India. "Always be SMART traveller." And you've so elaborately & beautifully mentioned how to be smart! 2ndly "India is not for immature travellers." Somebody travelling with notions of ease & comforts of a western world will never like it here. India is so vast, east of India is different from west, north from south geographyically, culturally, weather, food...its not for a reason that India is called a subcontinent! An inexperienced foreigner will surely get overwhelmed. Therefore your video should be a "must see" for folks planning a trip to India especially solo women. Hope you have had great memories and will travel again to discover more of our beautiful country and its people. May your channel keeps growing and you have more amazing trips to share. Will love to see a video where you find a new partner soon!! God bless you 🙂

South Asia is a great place for travel. Particularly you should visit Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. Maldives also is good travel destination for over worked and over paid corporates.
    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What is great about South Asia is following:
    1) Diverse ethnicities
    2) Diverse cultures
    3) Diverse climates
    4) Diverse topography
    5) Diverse religions
    6) Delectable Cuisines
    7) Diverse Architecture
    8) Whole hearted and friendly people who speak English
Unfortunately the most famous place in South Asia is India which only gets bad media coverage.
Many foreign vloggers show India like how Nick Johnson or Tyler Oliveira show USA. They only visit ghettos in Delhi and Mumbai and slander India. Ghettos in Delhi are like bad areas in Cairo or Palestinian areas in Amman and Ghettos in Mumbai are like bad areas in Jakarta or Manila.
If these vloggers show Pakistan: Lahore, Islamabad, Murree, Nathiagali and Peshawar.
    India: Kerala, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand
Sri Lanka: Colombo, Galle, Nuwara Eliya and Kandy.
Then they say that they had 1 month of great experience and want to visit Nepal next, they wouldn't get views.
Only negative bs about India sells.

I'm glad you had a great experience touring India. As you said, India is the most diverse country in the world regarding its people, food, culture, landscape etc. Cities are absolutely chaotic. Over the last hundred years, our Country's wealth and resources were looted by the invaders and british colonists. so, we are still recovering. which explains the bad infrastructure as compared to the US. I lived in the US for a few yrs and have noticed the cultural differences. Hopefully, you will visit the rest of India in your next travel plans.

It really gets to me when I see foreigners getting harassed by fellow Indians. Even Indian women don’t feel safe anymore. It’s got something to do with certain cultures, poverty, and all that. India’s got a lot of great things, but it’s got its negatives too. There are definitely some cheap people around. But with such a huge population, there are also so many good people. If you visit India next time, make sure to check out the Northeast. The culture here is a bit like Thailand, Bhutan, and Tibet, and we’ve got similar food too. The people and landscapes are different from the rest of India, and honestly, you’ll feel a lot safer here

Come back. This time to the North East, Uttrakhand above Risikesh, Himanchal. Great advice to avoid the Golden Triangle - full of touts and too crowded. Avoid Old Delhi and Varanasi is not for everyone. Also anywhere apart from UP and Bihar is fine.We need to move the Taj Mahal to another state. I live in Australia but took 5 months off to travel in India. I drove and upon my return found myself honking without thought till my gf slapped me. Glad u had fun. Also in India, life becomes much easier if you are linked the online payment system like the rest of the country. I hardly used any cash during my stay as I had an Indian bank account linked to the app. There must be a way to pay for those who don't. When in India, feel free to ask locals for advice, esp young people who speak good English and look decently dressed, esp girls. Say no to selfies. This nuisance needs to stop. Buses are a no for me. Trains are a hit and a miss. Also, now you know why Indian parents are known to smack their kids - they are a pain in the backside (no pun).

Im an Indian, i live in South India Chennai. Im married to a white girl from US. So this butt smacking thing happened with her not just once but a number of times during our trip to Delhi and other north indian states. Most of the time this happens is when we are on the streets . These goons are always on a bike or a scooter and there is no way for me to chase them. The cops in north india try their best but they failed to catch them. And again something similar happened in my hometown Chennai and when the cops knew about it they scanned all the cameras and went as far as they could and they were caught. What happened was the guy who smacked her butt and the other guy who was with him had their arms and legs broken. The excuse the police would say is that they "Slipped and fell". Lol but the truth is they literally break them . They do this a lot to rowdies and goons in Tamilnadu. By doing so they spread fear among criminals. Thats the reason there is less crime in South India compared to the North. Because the police in south india give Third degree barbaric treatment to criminals like these. And the selfie part i totally fet it. It frustrates me when i take her to the beach. I keep telling her to say no to selfie. But sometimes she forgets what i keep telling her and she is too kind to strangers. I keep sitting for like 30 to 40 minutes in a corner of the beach while the people keep gathering around her for selfie. Its little annoying honestly that my girl(my wife) is with a bunch of strangers taking selfies. She has tattoos all over her body which attracts people asking for selfie even more lol. But its her choice i guess. I cant force her not to. Anyways i hope you stay safe on your journey. And my personal tip - Always carry a pepper spray. Happy travels:)

Unless you're a well experienced traveller, just avoid typical backpacking. Book better hotels before arriving, use uber or other taxi apps, eat at proper restaurants, take flights, better if you buy a tour package. Avoid the cheapest options. Skip the stereotypical sensory overload experience and try destinations apart from the Taj Mahal and old Delhi, spice markets and slums.

I travelled solo in many countries including Andorra, Frain, Spain, Norway, Italy etc. Im a dark brown Indian male. Whenever I visit a beach in Barcelona, a police office comes rips out my bag and checks what's inside. In France, I worked in a French government entity. Outside work, I was humiliated because of my skin color, physically assaulted by French lady 60 years old when I went to see my cat. I could have done the same but in Indian culture we respect women and of that age I just saw my mother. Whenever, I visit a shop in Europe, the sales person takes me pointing at the cheapest stuff in store. I say 'money is not important but I want quality'. They usually feel embarrassed and say 'I'll bring another sales guy and disappear. In Andorra, a lady kicked me out of a hotel because Im Indian and wiped the handle bars with the alcohol gel during COVID time and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave for a booking that I paid for. What I want to summarize is that, in todays society SKIN COLOR TALKS A LOT.' If I was strolling in a beach in Barcelona with a white girl, no police would bother. For the foreign solo female travelers to India, I just have a single question: if in EU or US if you stroll outside with a yoga pant, do you think a married guy with his wife besides him would not be seeing their butt? That's how the world is in reality.

Delhi too because it is adjacent to UP and there are many migrant workers who come to Delhi from UP. These are the two most backward states of India. It's a shame really, that most of the foreigners esp women have had some sort of harassment or worse and this doesn't show good picture of a country!

😢 it doesn’t. BUT as I said my only real issue was with kids being dumb 🙈 which as well can happen anywhere. Overall my experience in India was great 😍

@ @ well I would say you still manage to escape the worst, it’s not only dumb kids but... anyways seeing ur videos I can make out that you were very smart enough to keep yourself safe and know ur timings and places to visit. Keep up with more interesting videos n stay safe👍🏻☺️

These kids should have been punished, or else they continue to do this.
Have seen several vlogs with kids touching, targeting/hugging females with heads in their breasts etc.
And they will target mainly women tourists, because their own women kept conservative.

He will say anything to get a smell of the kitty , you should be aware of men like him who will show sympathy just to get into the pants. @@NataliesPassport.
We call these men simps .
Don't be scared of direct and honest or rude men cause we will directly say the truth now whether you like it or not it's upto you and we don't care .
But the guys like him are the ones u should be aware of, he thinks you will give him the kitty lmao
