  • There's no dearth of automatic options to choose from anymore. Want two pedal convenience on a budget? There's the iMT and AMT to choose from. Conventional automatics like the CVT, Torque Converter and DCT bring with them a higher degree of sophistication and smoothness, for a higher asking price, of course. Question is, which automatic makes the most sense for you?

    Bumper to bumper traffic needs cvt and tork converter . In heavy city traffic don't use dct car. But if you drive more on highways then definitely choose DCT. To maintain cvt and torc converter is cheaper than DCT.

    Great comparison, very informative....especially for ppl like us who are used to MTs. I have driven an AMT (Celerio) and hated the jerks it gives. Also driven a TC (Harrier). Yet to drive a CVT or a DSG.
    Have read about many DSG issues (in Vento TDI) like Mechatronic failure and they are quite expensive to repair. CVT may not be my type as an enthusiast, so TC maybe my type!

    Sir, i have a diesel automatic sonet. Is it ok to put neutral while vehicle is on move in automatic torque converter. I have noticed doing that gives much better mileage in city especially when u r not giving much acceleration. Vehcile slows down rapidly when u release the accelerator in most cases.. does putting neutral and then in drive when necessary in moving vehicle affect transmission? Please note i am not talking putting neutral on slope rather in general on flat surfaces after gaining some speed

    Had been looking for such a video, albeit came across this an year later. Which car make / model would you recommend for a Torque Convertor ? I live in a city infamous for its immense traffic jams - and want to consider an automatic option. But I am seeing many car makers are shying away from Traditional TCA and moving to DCT or replacing TCAs with AMTs .. Please advise ??

      @cnsapam ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't go wrong with TCA. These are tried, tested and refined over decades and more reliable than any other Full Automatics.
      Go for any brand of your choice with TCA. (AISIN, Toyota produces the best TC Gearbox, which is used by many car brands).
