For people wondering if I am a Russian American no I am not. My grandma is from Belarus but saw herself as Polish and my Dad was born in Poland and grew up there. The majority of my family is from Poland. Large amounts of my family speak Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian. I only speak Polish besides English. I think I messed up with some of my Russian pronunciation. Trying to learn some of it.
The one thing Rockstar did wrong in GTA 4 was the lighting was really bad, everything felt really washed and ugly. You could say that might have been the point, but even Liberty City Stories made Liberty City nicer to look at.
@@Sh0tgunJust1ce I mean yeah, Liberty City was always supposed to be a kind of place where you have to take two showers one for your body and one for your conscience, it was dark and ugly for a reason plus it's kind of authentic to the 2008 NYC, as for gta 5 it's the west coast which is sunny and looks all good but is ugly underneath
As a fellow New Yorker, GTA 4 captured the grit, grungyness and aesthetics of NYC so well. Especially 2008 NYC. I am glad Professional is doing this and is a fellow New Yorker as well, that is awesome. Many would find NYC ugly, disgusting and just an overall hassle but there's a charm in all of that. A beauty. It's kind of alluring and GTA 4 showcases this. For better or worst hence why it is my favorite game of all time. Especially how many Eastern Europeans moving to NYC post-Balkan war along with Russians. The neighborhood Coney Island is in is heavily Eastern European/Russian residents. Rockstar did a great job capturing that aesthetic so well in their game. Truly a piece of art, imo.

I remember Coney Island when I used to live in NYC back in 2007. It looked a lot like it did in GTA 4, which came out a year later. I loved playing “The Warriors” for the PS2 game and roughhousing around Coney Island as well as the rest of the NYC boroughs.

As in TBOGT, Luis destroying Bulgarin's heroin he claimed from Dimitri after he dies by Niko's hand, before dealing with Timur. And of course, the numerous Gang and Drug War activities in TLAD and TBOGT.
Good times.. I replayed all three stories last year in 2020. Glad I finally got to know the full story of GTA 4 and play it for myself that was a life goal of mine

This makes me think that when rockstar worked on gta 4 they just took a few employees to take a vacation and take pictures of real life locations around New York and put them all together in the game and as a new Yorker this definitely hits home

As someone who lives in a small town out in the middle of nowhere. I tend to be filled with anxiety if i were in a big city like New York. Im like that whenever i travel to Chicago.
Being from LA I’m always impressed how some games get certain parts of the city correct. They ever get it quite right but even PS2 era games like (True Crimes SoLA and LA Rush) being closest to it right. But GTA IV alone has always wanted me to go to New York to genuinely explore a bit of the city sites.

Awesome video, professional! I'd love more Liberty City/ NYC comparison videos in the future! GTA4 did a really great job recreating the city and capturing a lot of the landmarks and feel of certain neighborhoods. My dream gta is to revisit liberty city in the gritty 70s or early 80s. Maybe add a version of Atlantic City we can go and visit too. Perhaps add some of Long Island or just Staten Island!

My Dad grew up in New York City. He and my uncle spent a lot of time growing up on that boardwalk. They would often drop a line off that pier as well but they just gave the fish away if they caught something. Lot of fond memories for him when he talked about it.. He practically grew up on Nathan's Hot Dogs as well.

Hi Profesional, I'm actually from the Midwest, but I live in NYC. I would say that if you go into the "tourist areas" the theft is more prevalant. However, I can't tell you how many times I've heard of people leaving their wallets or cell phones on the train and the person who finds the item actually returns it New Yorkers rock!!!!
Firefly island just had a lot of anoying missions. Ex: -the Puerto Rico conexion -that mission for Faustin with killing that lost member -Departure time -The master and the Molotov Just to name a few
@Marc Allan Leslie i agree but the lenght is just anoying. On every mission i taken into acount time taken, objectives and how many times the player fails either beacuse of enemies or in chaising/tailing missions how hard is to keep up with the target. I put these beacuse they take to much time. Ofcourse they pay good( except The master and the Molotov ). But in most of these missions the objectives are easy on paper but like i said, it is either the enemies or the objectives that make them anoying. On departure time the enemies are equiped with LMGs and ak-47s( both being powerful guns )and on Puerto Rico conecsion is "the Damm train CJ".

Hi Profesional, I'm actually from the Midwest, but I live in NYC. I would say that if you go into the "tourist areas" the theft is more prevalant. However, I can't tell you how many times I've heard of people leaving their wallets or cell phones on the train and the person who finds the item actually returns it New Yorkers rock!!!!

Firefly island just had a lot of anoying missions. Ex:
-the Puerto Rico conexion
-that mission for Faustin with killing that lost member
-Departure time
-The master and the Molotov

@Marc Allan Leslie i agree but the lenght is just anoying. On every mission i taken into acount time taken, objectives and how many times the player fails either beacuse of enemies or in chaising/tailing missions how hard is to keep up with the target. I put these beacuse they take to much time. Ofcourse they pay good( except The master and the Molotov ). But in most of these missions the objectives are easy on paper but like i said, it is either the enemies or the objectives that make them anoying.
On departure time the enemies are equiped with LMGs and ak-47s( both being powerful guns )and on Puerto Rico conecsion is "the Damm train CJ".
