Dimitri really is one of the best GTA villains, probably THE best. The only problem I’ve had with him is how strange it is that Bulgaran makes very little effort in chasing Niko. Niko says that Bulgaran trying to kill him is one of the reasons he came to America, so Dimitri bringing him in should have more of an impact.
Rockstar did a mistake by making the story of the game too long by doing favors for the McRearys and Pegorinos. And at the end there wasn't enough time to explain the Niko vs Bulgarin story, so they left this plot empty. Pegorino should be the main antagonist in Tbogt instead of Bulgarin, and he should be a simple side character in Gta IV. And Bulgarin should be the second antagonist in Niko's story.
To be fair, Number 7, I do actually believe it was Dimitri who convinced Faustin not to kill Niko and Roman, because in the final mission (had you chose the Deal option), Dimitri, during the final fight on the island with the Statue of Happiness, does say, "I should have let Faustin kill you."
Yeah, the revenge ending has got to be canon because there is no way realistically that Niko would ever work with Dimitri again under any circumstance.
Survival of the fittest meant so much for Dimitri that he screwed everyone that tried to work with him, imagine if he and pegorino actually worked together
I always refer to him as Dimitri "Rascal"ov. I always type like that. Or raise my voice at "RASCAL" and lower it after that. It's nice to see another one who noticed it as well.
Dimitri is one of the shambolic character in gaming history, this is a prime example why people should avoid people like him in real-life as knowing trust him or her without knowing what their real colors are in behind the scenes will turn things into the worst course. And seeing how dimitri can be cunning the way he does is makes him literally someone who was snake and ticking time bomb as soon as you trusted him from the start until he didn't need you anymore
Betrayal and attempted murder of Niko Bellic are considered Dimitri’s biggest mistake ever made. Had Dimitri rewarded Niko and let him become his top assassin, perhaps Dimitri could’ve ruled Liberty City, even made him. Even if Niko is a Serb. Rather than a Russian. Gus Fring from Breaking Bad was wiser than Dimitri. Fring kept his vengeance plans when Max was shot by Hector 20 years before breaking bad events happen. 20 years. Dimitri waited long enough to overthrow Mikhail. To eliminate him. Using Niko to wipe Mikhail out of this world. He could’ve used Niko. Maybe waited until some other thug challenges Niko as the bad ass and if Niko is no longer capable, Dimitri could’ve turned on Niko. Disposed him.
I 100% agree. All he had to do was keep Niko close. After seeing what Niko was capable of, Dimitri had two options. Keep Niko hidden from Bulgarin, and eventually use Niko to betray him. OR, get rid of the largest threat in liberty city, and sell him out to get closer to Bulgarin. Dimitri probably guessed he would be better off with Niko out of the equation. Niko didn’t have any loyalty to anyone but his family, so Dimitri assumed he couldn’t be controlled like Faustin. He knew with Niko alive he could be hired by anyone, and Dimitri was in the business of making enemies.
I would have put Killing Kate, even if not intentionally, as an Honorable Mention since that is the Canon Ending of GTA4. At least with Roman you know he is actually alive, but Kate? She’s gone and Niko’s chance at real happiness is gone.
Dimitri is one of the best antagonists ever created, not just for video games, but in general entertainment. He’s so evil, there’s really nothing to like about him.
It’s cool to see how you can still keep making more and more lore videos from GTA 4 since this game’s story is so memorable and so deep with its lore. GTA 4 will still always have the best story in the franchise and it’s good you keep making these videos so Rockstar can see that this game had such an impactful story so Rockstar can potentially learn and make sure GTA 6’s story is superb.
I wouldn't say blackmailing Bernie about his affair with Bryce was evil. He willingly took part in an adulterous affair. Yes, Dimitri's motives for the blackmailing weren't pure, but they sure are wronging Bryce's wife.
GTA Analysis videos are the best, I enjoyed the Chinatown Wars Playthrough, it was very nostalgic for me because I played it when it first came out for the Nintendo DS, even tho the story isn't as deep as the console games I hope to see a Chinatown Wars Lore video in the future
I hope you can play Metal Gear Solid soon, they even have their own cruel antagonist named Volgin, everyone from the community hates him because of his personality, I truly want to know your opinion about him if you played MGS3
I think it’s crazy when we first meet Dimitri he doesn’t seem very threatening .. then “BANG!” (Lil Jacob’s voice) he’s the most evil and threatening person in the game lmao. 44:30
Dimitri manipulated Niko to kill Faustin, but Faustin did warned Niko that Dimitri had turned on him, and would turn on Niko as well before killing him.
Let’s keep in mind that Dimitri mentioned Lenny by name to Faustin when Faustin was already accusing Lenny of snitching but struggling to remember what his name was.
The fact that Dimitri sent a hitman to Roman’s wedding says more than enough about him as a whole. Not even Toni Cipriani, Tenpenny, Sonny Forelli, or Claude would go that far.
I don't buy Dimitri being the one who 'corrupted' Faustin. It was the coke, and the power going to his head. Faustin is a flawed (and interesting) character on his own. Dimitri sure spins it to his advantage, portraying himself as the reasonable one in front of Niko, but I don't think he caused it
20:32 I wish we had a chance to spare Faustin in the game instead of shooting him. Whatever he's said could realistically have made Niko change his mind and prepared him better for the inevitable betrayal
I think I need to clarify. There is no need to perceive Dmitry as a completely insane person, obsessed with killing Niko and betraying everyone around him. Still, in his life there is one single equal ally, Ray Bulgarin. He is LITERALLY the only one who was not betrayed by Raskalov. Perhaps because Bulgarin is more authoritative and powerful than Raskalov, because has influence over the entire country, and has connections even in Europe, and Dmitry was simply afraid to betray a stronger and more powerful criminal than himself. I am sure that in the betrayal of Niko (whose death Bulgarin wanted) Dmitry saw an opportunity to gain respect from him, and gain a greater sphere of influence over Liberty City.
I feel like an idiot because I have no dea how to detect anyone like Dimitri in real life. Given the world that we live in today, I am very worried that I am surrounded by a bunch of them.
Maybe had there been a gta iv prequel, maybe the polish professional was threatened by a reveal devilish side of Dimitri and the professional wanted to warned Faustin about what Dimitri would be planning and how it affect his bratva as a whole. But then, the big mistake the professional would’ve committed was doing favors for Petrovic and his antagonism with Petrovic would twist it against the professional and as soon as the brat a would have him hunted down, the professional would go Arthur Morgan and dying trying to reason with Faustin about Dimitri being a snake. He died trying to save his bratva. Even when he wanted to distance his comrade and loved ones away from Liberty City
I can only say : I'm really grateful because I chose the revenge After all, we are the players, we control Niko in this game. His reaction & decision is surely also ours. Me personally will lost trust totally to a "snake", liar, betrayer. Especially if he / she do it to ruin my life and my financial. I have no mercy once i discovered it and will totally remove him / her from my life (blocking contacts, avoiding meet that person as F as possible, etc) And that's the reason.. without thinking twice, I'm chose revenge. No second chance for people like D no matter what.
Never understood why Pegorino needed Niko so badly to do the deal with Dimitri. Why couldn’t he get anyone else to do it? Was he that drastically low on muscle? Or did he genuinely not trust Dimitri and knew that if anything happened, Niko would survive and bring the goods back.
I bet that if Brad hadn't have died in the prologue in GTA 5 and if he moved to Liberty City - he and Dimitri would've gotten along very well, given that they're both horrible, sadistic people.
When I saw Roman being killed on his wedding at number 2, I had a feeling that Ilyeana was at 1 Dimitri is so evil, he makes Catalina and Claude look like saints (not the 3rd Street Saints), especially the former. Mikhail's original personality before he was corrupted by Dimitri is featured 5 times in the game: The first one is when he cares about his wife when he said: "Shut the f up!!! My f-ing wife is watching television!" The second one is in 4:16 when he cares about his wife again when he said: "My wife doesn't like when people shout!" The third one is Faustin's voicemail in which he politely tells the caller to call him when he's free, he also says to leave him a message. The fourth one is when he said: "I care about discipline and loyalty.", "You would be dead if it wasn't for me. That is what Dimitri wanted, when you killed Vlad.", "This tattoo says we are brothers for life. And now he betrays me." and "I am not dead yet. Some are still loyal to me. Guards!" The fifth one is when he said: "Dimitri turned on me, not the other way around. America made him greedy. Dimitri will turn on you as well, you shall discover this. I'm a man of convictions. I have only done what I believed. None of you will survive in this country without me. This American greed takes everyone. It is like a disease. Only I am still sane. Betrayed, betrayed by Dimitri and by you. Too kind, that's what I was, too kind. I let the snakes into the nest and they destroyed everything. I gave them everything and they took everything from me. Now they've sent you to take the only thing I have left. You have me cornered. There is nowhere for me to go."

He knew with Niko alive he could be hired by anyone, and Dimitri was in the business of making enemies.
johnny should have refused and let ashely get killed. she is a lost cause.
It’s crazy because in the mission where you kill Faustin. He actually warns Niko that Dimitri will betray him also and he was right all along
I like how Dimitri said police taped them, but used the phone to tell him what he did was wrong about killing supposably police informant.
As ghost from MWII once said, be careful who you trust, the ones you know can hurt you the most
Rockstar can only dream of writing another antagonist as brilliant as Dimitri. We'll have to see how GTA6 pans out in that regard.
Get Ubisoft on board. They’re known to make great game antagonists.
Because Steve Haines and Devin Weston was high annoying arrogant pricks.
@@elperrodelautumo7511 and present false advertisements. and water down their games. and generally being shady
Dimitri is one of the five true main antagonists of gta, the others being Mike Toreno, Vinnie, Ray Bulgarin and Wu Kenny Lee.
GTA Analysis videos are the best, I enjoyed the Chinatown Wars Playthrough, it was very nostalgic for me because I played it when it first came out for the Nintendo DS, even tho the story isn't as deep as the console games I hope to see a Chinatown Wars Lore video in the future
This guy is top 3 most evil villian in gaming, a pure cold blooded psychopath
Makarov too
@@alkhoaja Makarov probably Number 1 ngl
Calling Dimitri before reaching to station, he took so long to answer the call. Dimitri was planning a scene where Faustins was fighting with him
Hey the professional can you do the last of us part 1 and 2 gameplay series
Dimitri is pure evil and he is also a good villain
Dimitri is a Judas that betrayed everyone he ever known
Dimitri and Micah are good villains
Since in Missions “A Revengers Tragery” the most evil Dimitri quotes said to Niko “I Laugh when I heard was Roman Was Dead HA!!!!”
I hope you can play Metal Gear Solid soon, they even have their own cruel antagonist named Volgin, everyone from the community hates him because of his personality, I truly want to know your opinion about him if you played MGS3
Who do you guys think is more pure evil Dimitri Rascalov or Micah Bell
I think it’s crazy when we first meet Dimitri he doesn’t seem very threatening .. then “BANG!” (Lil Jacob’s voice) he’s the most evil and threatening person in the game lmao.

Dimitri is my most hated GTA character of all time just because of how evil he is
Dimitri manipulated Niko to kill Faustin, but Faustin did warned Niko that Dimitri had turned on him, and would turn on Niko as well before killing him.
I'm so sorry for ilyena and Anna wish we could help heartless dimitri only if ilyena knew Niko killed faustin poor girls omg... 😢
I’ll bet you that the gta 6 Antagonist will never be as bad as dimitri
Never played GTA 4, but I heard he was terrible and messed up in many ways.
I Hate Dimitri. He's Pure Evil 👿 Like Demon 😈 That's makes him best antagonist in video game 🎮
Faustin is bad guy but I feel bad for him
There's Definitely people like Dimitri in the world if not worse
Niko. Is sorry for the girls too after being sorry for killing faustin
Let’s keep in mind that Dimitri mentioned Lenny by name to Faustin when Faustin was already accusing Lenny of snitching but struggling to remember what his name was.
Dimitri makes Claude from GTA 3 seem normal, and at least he doesn't betray just anyone without reason.
Claude is nothing like that monster, why even mention him
@@malletUsergamingClaude doesn't even speak
@@paintbrush5296 and?
@@malletUsergaming idk
Then why did he kill Kenji Kasen
The fact that Dimitri sent a hitman to Roman’s wedding says more than enough about him as a whole. Not even Toni Cipriani, Tenpenny, Sonny Forelli, or Claude would go that far.
Eh toni would
Tenpenny might show up just to scare someone but wouldn't do anything
I don't buy Dimitri being the one who 'corrupted' Faustin. It was the coke, and the power going to his head. Faustin is a flawed (and interesting) character on his own. Dimitri sure spins it to his advantage, portraying himself as the reasonable one in front of Niko, but I don't think he caused it
Dimitri may be a psychopath, but he doesnt have the making of a varsity athlete
Gabagool ❎
Russian Sausages ✅
I am sure that in the betrayal of Niko (whose death Bulgarin wanted) Dmitry saw an opportunity to gain respect from him, and gain a greater sphere of influence over Liberty City.
as a result, he tried to kill Niko throughout the game just to please him. (And perhaps, having gained more strength to betray Bulgarin)
I can only say : I'm really grateful because I chose the revenge
After all, we are the players, we control Niko in this game. His reaction & decision is surely also ours. Me personally will lost trust totally to a "snake", liar, betrayer. Especially if he / she do it to ruin my life and my financial. I have no mercy once i discovered it and will totally remove him / her from my life (blocking contacts, avoiding meet that person as F as possible, etc)
And that's the reason.. without thinking twice, I'm chose revenge.
He was apart of the crew like Ray or Phil.
Can't wait for the Lance Vance video
Keep the Rockstar lore videos coming, I love them so much 😊
Hey Pro I enjoyed this video! Next video idea: Top 5 Things that Playa Has Done: Saints Row Series
Best antagonist besides Tempenny
I bet that if Brad hadn't have died in the prologue in GTA 5 and if he moved to Liberty City - he and Dimitri would've gotten along very well, given that they're both horrible, sadistic people.
Ye and Brad would kill anybody for Dimitri without question
@@AlfieTrevor4444 and for his own pleasure also.

Even though Faustin is also the antagonist in gta 4, but he was the tertiary antagonist and Dimitri was the main antagonist after killing Faustin.

Was that a Discord ping?
Yk its a good lore video when Pro makes it almost an hour long 🙏🏼
also pro its Dimitri RATScalov, that sounds way better than Rascalov
The Green Sabre vs Russian Revolution.
Niko - CJ
Sweet - Roman
Cesar - Jacob
Toreno - Dimitri
Tenpenny - Bulgarin
Sonny Forelli pretended to be Tommy’s friend an betrayed him too. Him and Dimitri would be pals until one double crossed the other
When I saw Roman being killed on his wedding at number 2, I had a feeling that Ilyeana was at 1
Dimitri is so evil, he makes Catalina and Claude look like saints (not the 3rd Street Saints), especially the former. Thanks for making the video. I'm revisiting GTA 4 as of the time of this comment. I'm having a lot of fun going through it again. I appreciate your dedication to this video 👍🏼
Dimitri Rascalove makes Devin Weston from GTA 5 look so weak.
He is truly a monster.
A guy with no morals
And will do anything to destroy
And conquer the world
He only cares about himself
Nobody else
Dimitri was the devil in the flesh. Period
Dimitri is the more evil main antagonist in gta, unlike Catalina, Sonny Forelli, Toreno, and Devin Weston.
Thank you for another gta 4 lore video
49:49 the hot dog vendor 😂😂😂
The best man for lore videos.
Whoever made the storyline in gta 4 deserves a award
Mikhail's original personality before he was corrupted by Dimitri is featured 5 times in the game:
The first one is when he cares about his wife when he said: "Shut the f up!!! My f-ing wife is watching television!"
The second one is in 4:16 when he cares about his wife again when he said: "My wife doesn't like when people shout!"
The third one is Faustin's voicemail in which he politely tells the caller to call him when he's free, he also says to leave him a message.
Guards!"
The fifth one is when he said: "Dimitri turned on me, not the other way around.
I sure enjoying watching this lore video it's awesome I hope you continue to do more videos 😊
No continuity error the bikers never kidnapped roman it was dimitri who did it rockstar fucked up again
This video is a sequel to Why does Dimitri Betrays Niko th-cam.com/video/gwtbl_x24uU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lvgHpjmBwCBnmYse
Its not really a sequel more of explaining his personality and why he did the horrible things as well as diagnosing him with psychopathy.
@@theprofessional155 Yeah you’re right but I meant more in like a second video about Dimitri Rascalov character you can enjoyably watch back to back. One is about his personality and the second about his crimes.
