Holy crap, the goosebumps. Gears and Halo has to be two of my favorite game franchises. This brings back nostalgia I'd kill for, in order to re-experience what was once the golden ages of gaming.

Not a bad game by any means. 1 had the atmosphere; It felt like you were fighting a war that you could never win. 2 had the momentum; it was a colossal roller coaster that brought you face to face with the root of the problem, (not to mention it had the strongest scene in all of gears, the fate of Maria). 3 will always be remembered for the Death of Dom (Mad World played). 1 and 2 definitely had the better soundtracks. The style changed a lot with Gears 3, character designs included.

When you roll on the suspended cymbal, if you roll on the edges you can a much brighter and fuller sound instead of rolling in the center. I hate to comment on it because you're just so amazing at everything but its something I noticed. Thanks for being awesome!
Gears of war probably had the best soundtracks out of all the games ive played. Just the sorrow and sadness that oozes from the musical tone, the impending doom feeling. So beautifully captured. I honestly think the music made up at least a third of the game in terms of atmosphere. Extremely well done cover!

A friend of mine got me to play it and I fell in love with it. The campaign is worth trying out (esp. GoW2 and GoW3), its storytelling (and music) is epic beyond proportions.
TheBudworth Actually gears of war revolutionized cover based 3rd person shooters. Almost all modern cover based 3rd person shooters base their movement and combat systems off of Gears of War. Gears is to 3rd person gaming as DOOM is to first person gaming.
