- In honour of the 30th anniversary of Metallica's legendary "Black Album" I have decided to cover my favourite track off the album, but with an Arabian twist, featuring my dad on Oud and Percussion. Enjoy this fusion of good old heavy metal and traditional Arabic instruments.

It feels like the original song was supposed to play like this.
I was riffing 'Where I may roam' on acoustic and started exaggerating the string bending quickly and playing close to the bridge, and thought, is there an India/middle eastern style cover to this? And behold! This dude kills it. Rock on man
Amazing 😂
THE MOST SUPER KOOL VERSION!!

Incredible cover man. So, so awesome. Can't stop listening.
Thank you man, Glad you like it!
@@PurpleOverdrive Your dad's playing on the Oud is amazing. This should be on the 'Blacklist'; it's vastly superior to at least 90% of the ...stuff that's on there.
Like, easily & completely superior.
AWESOME COVER BROs😎🔥🔥
THANK YOUUUU😤☝️

@@PurpleOverdrive you are welcome, I have also a channel with covers etc, check it out if you want to and feel free to show some love! Have a nice day mate! ;)
simply amazing! but i would also love to hear it with just the traditional instruments. can you make it? greetings from jakarta, indonesia!
Hmm, out of context I think the traditional instruments sound weird alone in this song because they were arranged to play with the guitars, but I'll think about it!
Thank you very much, I love Indonesia, Greetings from an Iraqi :)
@@PurpleOverdrive thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my comment. no worries. i was just wondering about an all traditional instruments playing the song. but you know better of course. either you will or you won't, thank you for at least considering it. what you and your dad made here was already amazingly solid!! very enjoyable! thank you! :) :) :)
Bravo!!
Here's a version with traditional instruments: th-cam.com/video/0Gn_-Tg-K9E/w-d-xo.html
Fakin dope man, keep it up bro only a matter of time 📈
Thank you brother!
#metallica
appreciate the idea❤
1:25 😍
Actually oud is not an arabic instrument, it has an Iranian origin. It is called "Barbat", which later found it's way to arabic and turkish music.
Iranian have issues with anything Arabic 😅. Close minds.. it's music as Iranian have instrument Arab have too..and other nations too. .get over it ..
Iran is in the Middle East that’s why they named it Middle East not Arab
It's the father of all instruments, and its origins are narrowed down to Babylonia (Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Gulf peninsula in general today). Maybe you're right, but Kuwaitis and Iraqis would argue the same thing saying it originated with them.
We're all brothers and sisters. The oud was a means for us to unite with music!
The father of all stringed* instruments
mükemmel
Teşekkür ederim :)
Did you do the mix yourself, the mix sounds good. Nice job!
Thanks! yes it was mixed and mastered by me
Someone needs to show this to Metallica
I like this version a bit better, idc, I am a bit insane, so it works out
Do every metal song ever that has phrygian dominant scale! If you also make their tabs for oud I'd buy them.
Haha that's the plan, turning middle eastern sounding metal riffs to truly middle eastern 🤘🤘
@@PurpleOverdrive yeah buddy!
@@PurpleOverdrive I plan on doing After the Burial's Lost in the Static someday
Quick! Somebody show this to Metallica!
Keep posting please
I definitely will. Once I graduate high school shortly I'll have much more time dedicated to music :)
@@PurpleOverdrive luv from azerbaijan
Please can you do Toxicity of System of a Down. It's such a middle eastern song.
Great suggestion! Aerials would be even more middle eastern haha
Try installing single guitar strings on the oud and the sound and playing will be amazing
Better than the original !!!!!
You're too kind 😂😂 Thanks very much!
hahaha..so funny...
