    I've had a similar situation at the end of last season. It may be because your burnt out. Training a lot, mental stress. For me I was trialing with many different teams and had lots of school work, and lots of travel. Take your time off Tom and we'll all be glad to see you back 🌟

    you have to be able to play with full confidence otherwise youll be playing with shackles round your ankles. i took major steps back from an intense level and in a weird way i now feel better and sharper, more confident in my ability than ever. whatever you do tom you gotta enjoy it 100%, look forward to playing. youve got time, ability and mindset to take you far but doesnt have to be right now. take your time and go play with mates no matter the level, just get your enjoyment back for it bc it never goes away truly

    If you're not happy any more with professional football, you're right to quit. Happiness is more important than success and there are one million other options :) Thanks for sharing all this.

    i completely understand where you’re coming from tom. i spent 2 years as a scholar at carshalton athletic and even played against you last summer and the football at carshalton made me lose my love for it and i’m no longer any football but 5 a side but it’s just not for me anymore. all the best for the future tom.

      @@TomAllenFootball yeah i’ve been watching you for well over a year now and you seemed so happy with your football. just keep your head up and focus on whatever currently makes you happy. what i’ve found is the happier you are mentally the more joy and fulfilment you will gain from even the things you may not be enjoying.

    I think your assessment of yourself being good enough /capable to become a professional but not top professional is true and realistic. I’ve watched your videos and seen some great improvements through your dedication to training. But intense, regular training is only sustainable if it’s fun. Thanks for the your videos, they have been interesting and educational.

    tbh I was like this from about 15 to 17. Played for a Millwall youth team and had national talent trials but nothing ever got me noticed or anything and due to the high expectation I had of myself plus a pretty bad knee injury I sustained, I quit. I gave myself total time away from the game over lockdown. I am now 18, going to uni, and have signed for the U19's side of a team in the Welsh Women's Premier League. Everything works out in the end, trust the process. I've come to the conclusion not to aim for the top anymore, just to play and see where it gets me :)

    Yes Tom ,
    Just came across this video bro - I’ve seen a few of your video but not to many ,this problems becoming more common there’s more to football than what people see & mental health is a big issue and footballers don’t get enough support with there mental health - I was in a dark place not long ago with the game , but at your lowest point shows your character no matter how many times you get knocked down get up and go again ! - footballs 90% mental and 10% physical just enjoy and go with the flow don’t put pressure on yourself your still young , just find that fine balance - your a man on a mission and your journey is your journey ,keep your head up don’t let anyone tell you , you can’t do it just keep going
    Aj 🙌🏾

    • @TomAllenFootball
      @TomAllenFootball  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think mental health is 100% overlooked in football and can destroy so many players careers. I won’t stop playing football, but I need to learn to love it again

      You are so loved! So loved bro! May I ask you a question, what’s the scientific possibility nothing created everything? that’s scientifically impossible, but what an atheist believes. if you don’t believe that, you’re agnostic. Here’s a million-dollar question if God is real,Will you go to Heaven when you die? Let’s do a quick test: Have you ever told a lie? (Be honest.) Have you taken anything that belongs to someone else? Have you disobeyed your parents, or said, “Oh my G-d!” or used the name of Jesus to cuss? Have you been greedy, or hated someone? If you have done these wrong things, one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But He loves sinners so much that He made a way for them to be forgiven and go to Heaven instead. He sent His Son, Jesus, who took the punishment they deserve by dying on the cross for them: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then He rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, turn away from sinful (bad) things and put your trust in Jesus. God will forgive you and give you everlasting life. Then read the Bible daily, and obey it (start with the Gospel of John). That's the harsh reality bro. 99.9% won't make it. I have made similar decision to go to university and try play semi-pro/non league and try build my way up from there. Thanks for sharing because people don't see that part of football and it's really important because if you're not mentally well you should take a step back and come back when you will enjoy it. I have thought about it even though you might not make it you have definitely made someone else a proffesional footballer through your content your motivation, advice and discipline and you must be proud of that!
